Tips to get the optimal rental home experience:

Get the most from your rental home budget:

  • The sooner you can reserve a vacation rental, the better your selection will be. The most desirable rental properties are booked early. Reserving your rental property six - twelve months before your vacation dates is recommended. Christmas, Thanksgiving and New Years Eve are excellent times to plan and book your vacation rental.
  • Summertime is the most expensive season along the coast of NC. To get the best vacation home within your budget, we strongly suggest reserving in the Spring or Fall. You'll benefit from lower rental rates, better selection, warm weather and the absence of giant crowds at local restaurants, tours, and activities. Many vacationers use this strategy to find larger homes within budget, or to reserve an oceanfront rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during June, July, and August.
  • Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property manager if your family qualifies for a price reduction.
  • Management companies and individual rental owners usually offer renters an option to obtain vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which costs between 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed trip time as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance can be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for additional information.
  • Look for your local visitors guide when you arrive at the rental property. If your rental property doesn't have one, you can find them at local grocery stores and visitor centers. In addition to great local articles, visitor guide magazines contain money saving offers on nearby accommodations, tours and attractions.

How to pick the best rental in Holden Beach:

  • Start by choosing a vacation week and a max budget.
  • Note the number bedrooms and the configuration you need. Hobbs Realty - Enjoy a \"Reel Carolina Cottage\" in this freshly updated home with a private pool! has 4 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Southport rentals search.
  • Precise information about bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is almost always available on booking pages. If they are not listed, contact the property owner before booking the property. Note that most listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which usually includes pull out couches in living rooms. You'll need to determine what is best for your family.
  • If your family is traveling with pets, you'll need to find a rental that allows animals. Get details on breed, weight, and type restrictions. Be aware that some hosts charge pet deposits and fees.
  • If there's a particular Southport attraction you are crazy about, search for properties that are either nearby, or those that cater especially to your needs.
  • Proper accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for persons with a disability. Confirm all required amenities are available before reserving a rental.

Know before you go:

  • Get the host's phone number and check in/check out procedures for your rental property. We recommend storing the manager's information in your smartphone and wallet.
  • Hosts are there to help! Don't be shy to ask any questions during your stay.
  • Keep your rental home locked while you are away! Don't let crooks ruin your family vacation.
  • To make certain damages are not attributed to your family's visit, make a record of any problem areas during check in. E-mail the host right away to report your findings. If there is a dispute, having a record of problems and contact attempts will be useful.
  • Be respectful. Often times, adjacent homes are occupied by local residents. Respecting quiet hours and parking policies can make a stay significantly more pleasurable.
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Residents can typically help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to rent beach equipment, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for crabbing?
  • At departure, take a final walk-through to make sure you did not forget anything. Check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden items. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
  • Leave a review! Hosts rely on excellent reviews to inspire future reservations. They'll be grateful for your review. Alternatively, if something wasn't right, other vacationing families will appreciate that you share your review find their best rental home. Please be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the owner had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded reasonably to solve it.

Victory Beach Vacations

Visitors who are on the hunt for the postcard-perfect vacation rental in the heart of the Carolina Beach or Kure Beach area will find an enticing selection and plenty of friendly customer service when they rent through Victory Beach Vacations. Based in Carolina Beach in the coastal Cape Fear region, Victory Beach Vacations has more than 100 vacation rentals in all shapes and sizes to ensure that every vacationing family can find their dream home away from home on the beach.   When you book your Cape Fear getaway with Victory Beach Vacations, the fun doesn’t end when you leave the beach, it continues with an array of privately-owned properties outfitted with all of the amenities needed for a fabulous beach vacation.   Jenna Lanier, General Manager, explains that her family first opened the rental and property management business in 2002. At the forefront of Victory Beach operations is Lanier’s mother, Caroline Meeks. Meeks is both the Broker in Charge and co-owner with husband, Buck Meeks, who manages the Field Services team with Lanier’s husband, Scott.   For nearly 20 years, the Victory Beach team has worked tirelessly to establish a network of top-of-the-line rental properties for Cape Fear visitors to enjoy. “As far as our properties go,” explains Lanier, “they are all updated, well-furnished and appointed. “We have always performed post-cleaning inspections and since the pandemic, have put freshly laundered duvets over all of the comforters between rentals.”   Lanier emphasizes how important the guests experience is “we strive to give our guests a relaxing, stress free, memorable vacation.” This emphasis on customer service has led to Victory Beach Vacations having a 4.8 Google rating with over 300 reviews by happy owners and guests. In addition to Victory Beach’s superior sanitation practices, the company offers properties for every type of visitor. Choose from luxury oceanfront houses and condos to more reasonbly priced 2nd row properties with oceanviews. Many properties include pools and hot tubs as well, perfect for outdoor entertaining, and many are dog friendly.   Lanier also notes that all properties are within walking or driving distance to Pleasure Island’s main attractions – Carolina Beach and Kure Beach. The former, as described by Lanier, is the more commercialized of the two destinations and features a boardwalk, outdoor dining options and a plethora of weekly activities including fireworks, live music, amusement park pop-ups, and movies under the stars. Kure Beach offers a more residential feel with its fishing pier, intimate restaurants and family favorite, North Carolina Aquarium at Fort Fisher.More water fun awaits, too. “There is a harbor and a canal that feed into the intercoastal. We have several properties on the harbor so guests can bring their boat, kayak, [or jet ski] and travel between islands,” says Lanier.   A stay with Victory Beach Vacations is an annual pilgrimage for most. “A large percentage of guests are previous guests. Some even reserve the same property for the next year as they’re checking out,” Lanier says. “It’s almost like it’s their personal vacation home.”   Even before guests arrive at their vacation destination, the Victory Beach Vacations’ website greets them with a live beach cam and exquisite aerial footage of both Carolina and Kure Beaches.
