Vacation rental booking tips and tricks:

When to visit & When to book:

  • To book the most suitable rental home for your budget, we suggest booking in Spring or Fall. You'll benefit from lower rental rates, better selection, gorgeous weather and the absence of large crowds at Southport restaurants, tours, and activities.
  • The earlier you can reserve a vacation home, the easier your search will be. The best properties are booked early. Booking your rental 6-12 months before your travel dates is recommended. Holiday gatherings are excellent times to plan and reserve your rental property.
  • Property management companies sometimes offer discounts or promotional rates for veterans. Remember to ask your host or property manager if discounts are available for your group before you book.
  • Booking websites often offer renters an option to purchase vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which will generally cost between 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for days missed as a result of medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance might be a a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for specifics.
  • Find a copy of your local Southport visitors guide when you arrive at the rental property. If your rental property doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local shops and visitor centers. In addition to great information, visitors guide magazines have coupons for local restaurants, attractions, and tours.

Make a plan and choose a perfect Southport vacation home:

  • Select your vacation dates and budget.
  • Decide how many beds and the configuration your group requires. Escape on the Cape - Riverfront Sunset Views in Downtown Wilmington has 1 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Southport rental home search.
  • Precise details about bedrooms and bed counts & types is often accessible on booking websites. If you don't see them listed, email or call the property owner before reserving the vacation property. Note that most listings specify the max. guest capacity, which oftentimes includes sofa beds and bunks. You will need to determine what is right for your vacation family.
  • Visiting for a single attraction? If so, use a map search to locate nearby properties.
  • Suitable accessibility can make or break a vacation for persons with disabilities. Confirm all necessary amenities are available and included before reserving a rental.
  • If your family is traveling with pets, search for a pet-friendly rental. Request details on breed, weight, and type requirements. Be aware that some hosts charge pet deposits and fees.

Know before you go:

  • Take a copy of the host's contact number and arrival/departure procedures for your rental home. We recommend storing the host's contact information in your smartphone.
  • To make certain no damages are linked to your family's visit, inspect for any problem areas when you arrive. text the rental manager right away to relay your findings. If there is a dispute about legal responsibility later, having the recorded problems and contact attempts will be valuable.
  • Property managers are available to help! Feel free to ask any questions during your stay.
  • Be respectful of your neighbors. Frequently, adjacent homes are filled by permanent residents. Respecting quiet hours and parking policies is the right thing to do.
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Residents can usually help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to order the best nachos, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for crabbing?
  • Lock your rental property while you're out! Don't let thieves spoil your holiday.
  • Don't leave anything behind! Just before you drive away, take a walk through the property to make sure you've collected everything. Make sure to check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden items. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Record a video to document the condition of the property.
  • Did your group have a excellent time? Most rental websites make it easy for guests to provide comments. If your property and/or property management company was fantastic, they would love to hear about it. If anything was out of order and they failed to fix it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make it a point as part of your review.
