How to get the best rental home experience:

Getting the best value:

  • The sooner your group can book a rental home, the easier your search will be. The best rental homes are booked very early. Booking your rental home six - twelve months before your vacation dates is recommended. Christmas, Thanksgiving and New Years Eve are excellent times to plan and reserve your rental property.
  • Booking your vacation home in the Spring or Fall is our favorite way to save money on your vacation. Rates are lower, and you'll find a better selection of suitable properties. Many vacationers use this strategy to find larger homes within budget, or to reserve a beach front rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during June, July, and August.
  • Veterans and Active Duty Military members may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property management company or host whether your vacationing group qualifies for a special rate.
  • Property managers typically offer their guests an option to buy vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which costs between 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for days missed as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather, as well as ensuing additional evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance can be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for additional information.
  • Find a copy of your local Southport visitors guide when you arrive at the rental property. If your rental property doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local grocery stores and visitor centers. In addition to great local information, travel guides have discounts for local shops and restaurants.

Planning, selecting, and booking your prefect Southport vacation home:

  • Start by having your family commit to the best dates and a max budget.
  • Determine how many bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration your group needs. Fantastic 3 bedroom 2 1\/2 just steps from the beach and heart of Wrightsville has 3 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Southport rental home search.
  • Specific information about bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is usually available online. If you don't see them listed, call the host before you reserve your home. Note that most listings specify maximum guest capacity, which typically includes pull-out couches.
  • If your family is traveling with pets, you'll need to find a pet-friendly rental. Make sure to ask for details on breed, weight, and type restrictions. Usually, property owners charge additional pet fees.
  • Visiting for a single attraction or event? Try a map search to browse nearby rentals.
  • Proper accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for persons with disabilities. Remember to confirm all necessary amenities are included before reserving a rental

More considerations for your visit:

  • Review check in & check out procedures before traveling. Take a printed copy, and add a note with the instructions to your phone.
  • Hosts are there to help! Feel free to ask questions during your stay.
  • Protect the property owner (and your things!) by locking the property while you are away, just like you would back home.
  • During check-in, make note of any damages to the property and immediately alert the owner. Keep records of all coorespondence.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like unpleasant visitors disrupting your peaceful home life. Practice the golden rule for common sense. If they like you, locals might even recommend great local food and places you would have not otherwise known!
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Locals can usually point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to order delicious takeout, have a great night out, or the best spots for fine dining?
  • Double-check the rental property to make sure that you've packed everything on check-out day. Remember to check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden items. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
  • Did your family have a terrific time? Many vacation rental websites make it easy for clients to provide reviews. If your rental property and/or property manager was terrific, they would love to hear it. If anything was inoperable and they failed to fix it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make it a point as part of your review.

Victory Beach Vacations

Visitors who are on the hunt for the postcard-perfect vacation rental in the heart of the Carolina Beach or Kure Beach area will find an enticing selection and plenty of friendly customer service when they rent through Victory Beach Vacations. Based in Carolina Beach in the coastal Cape Fear region, Victory Beach Vacations has more than 100 vacation rentals in all shapes and sizes to ensure that every vacationing family can find their dream home away from home on the beach.   When you book your Cape Fear getaway with Victory Beach Vacations, the fun doesn’t end when you leave the beach, it continues with an array of privately-owned properties outfitted with all of the amenities needed for a fabulous beach vacation.   Jenna Lanier, General Manager, explains that her family first opened the rental and property management business in 2002. At the forefront of Victory Beach operations is Lanier’s mother, Caroline Meeks. Meeks is both the Broker in Charge and co-owner with husband, Buck Meeks, who manages the Field Services team with Lanier’s husband, Scott.   For nearly 20 years, the Victory Beach team has worked tirelessly to establish a network of top-of-the-line rental properties for Cape Fear visitors to enjoy. “As far as our properties go,” explains Lanier, “they are all updated, well-furnished and appointed. “We have always performed post-cleaning inspections and since the pandemic, have put freshly laundered duvets over all of the comforters between rentals.”   Lanier emphasizes how important the guests experience is “we strive to give our guests a relaxing, stress free, memorable vacation.” This emphasis on customer service has led to Victory Beach Vacations having a 4.8 Google rating with over 300 reviews by happy owners and guests. In addition to Victory Beach’s superior sanitation practices, the company offers properties for every type of visitor. Choose from luxury oceanfront houses and condos to more reasonbly priced 2nd row properties with oceanviews. Many properties include pools and hot tubs as well, perfect for outdoor entertaining, and many are dog friendly.   Lanier also notes that all properties are within walking or driving distance to Pleasure Island’s main attractions – Carolina Beach and Kure Beach. The former, as described by Lanier, is the more commercialized of the two destinations and features a boardwalk, outdoor dining options and a plethora of weekly activities including fireworks, live music, amusement park pop-ups, and movies under the stars. Kure Beach offers a more residential feel with its fishing pier, intimate restaurants and family favorite, North Carolina Aquarium at Fort Fisher.More water fun awaits, too. “There is a harbor and a canal that feed into the intercoastal. We have several properties on the harbor so guests can bring their boat, kayak, [or jet ski] and travel between islands,” says Lanier.   A stay with Victory Beach Vacations is an annual pilgrimage for most. “A large percentage of guests are previous guests. Some even reserve the same property for the next year as they’re checking out,” Lanier says. “It’s almost like it’s their personal vacation home.”   Even before guests arrive at their vacation destination, the Victory Beach Vacations’ website greets them with a live beach cam and exquisite aerial footage of both Carolina and Kure Beaches.
