Finding the best Southport vacation home experience:

When to visit & When to reserve a Southport rental home:

  • In the Southport area, The sooner your group can book a vacation home, the easier your search will be. The best rental properties are booked early. Reserving your vacation rental up to 12 months before your travel dates is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to search for and book your vacation home.
  • Reserving a rental home in the Fall or Spring is one of our best tips for saving money on your rental home. Rental rates are lower, and you'll find a larger selection of desirable homes. Many vacationers use this strategy to find larger homes within budget, or to book a beach front rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during June, July, and August.
  • Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property manager or host whether your vacationing group qualifies for a price reduction.
  • Management companies and individual rental owners typically offer renters an option to add trip insurance. Trip insurance, which usually costs 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed time as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance might be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for additional information.
  • Find a copy of your local Southport visitors guide when you check-in. If your rental property doesn't have one, you can find them at local grocery stores and visitor centers. In addition to great local information, visitors guide magazines contain coupons for nearby accommodations and attractions.

Filter your rental search:

  • First, have your family agree to date ranges and a budget.
  • Note the number beds and the bed configuration your group requires. Oceanfront duplex w private beach walkway has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
  • Specific details about bedrooms and bed counts & types is normally accessible online. If not, email or call the property management company before you book the rental. Note that most properties list the max. guest capacity, which usually includes pull-out couches.
  • If your group is bringing pets, you must book a pet-friendly rental. Get specifics on breed, size, and type requirements. Note that some property owners charge pet deposits and fees.
  • If there's a particular Southport attraction you are enamored with, keep an eye out for rentals that are either nearby, or those that cater especially to your requirements.
  • Appropriate accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for persons with a disability. Confirm all necessary amenities are available before reserving a rental

Advice for a terrific stay:

  • Get the host's contact number and check in/check out procedures for your rental home.
  • Property managers are available to help! Feel free to ask questions during your stay.
  • Ensure you protect the rental owner (and your stuff!) by locking and securing the home while you are out, just like you would at home.
  • Document any damages to the property during check in, and immediately send them to the host. We specifically recommend texts and e-mails, as they usually contain built-in time stamps that are valuable if a dispute arises.
  • Respecting quiet hours and parking regulations can make a stay more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You will magnify your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors are a great source for finding the best local attractions.
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local! Locals can typically help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to order delicious takeout, have a great night out, or the best spots for crabbing?
  • Re-check the property to confirm that you've packed everything on check-out day. Make sure to check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden treasure. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
  • Did your group have a excellent vacation? Most rental management companies make it easy for customers to provide reviews. If your property and/or property manager was wonderful, they will likely appreciate your kind words. If anything was out of order and they failed to address it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make it a point as part of your feedback.

Victory Beach Vacations

Visitors who are on the hunt for the postcard-perfect vacation rental in the heart of the Carolina Beach or Kure Beach area will find an enticing selection and plenty of friendly customer service when they rent through Victory Beach Vacations. Based in Carolina Beach in the coastal Cape Fear region, Victory Beach Vacations has more than 100 vacation rentals in all shapes and sizes to ensure that every vacationing family can find their dream home away from home on the beach.   When you book your Cape Fear getaway with Victory Beach Vacations, the fun doesn’t end when you leave the beach, it continues with an array of privately-owned properties outfitted with all of the amenities needed for a fabulous beach vacation.   Jenna Lanier, General Manager, explains that her family first opened the rental and property management business in 2002. At the forefront of Victory Beach operations is Lanier’s mother, Caroline Meeks. Meeks is both the Broker in Charge and co-owner with husband, Buck Meeks, who manages the Field Services team with Lanier’s husband, Scott.   For nearly 20 years, the Victory Beach team has worked tirelessly to establish a network of top-of-the-line rental properties for Cape Fear visitors to enjoy. “As far as our properties go,” explains Lanier, “they are all updated, well-furnished and appointed. “We have always performed post-cleaning inspections and since the pandemic, have put freshly laundered duvets over all of the comforters between rentals.”   Lanier emphasizes how important the guests experience is “we strive to give our guests a relaxing, stress free, memorable vacation.” This emphasis on customer service has led to Victory Beach Vacations having a 4.8 Google rating with over 300 reviews by happy owners and guests. In addition to Victory Beach’s superior sanitation practices, the company offers properties for every type of visitor. Choose from luxury oceanfront houses and condos to more reasonbly priced 2nd row properties with oceanviews. Many properties include pools and hot tubs as well, perfect for outdoor entertaining, and many are dog friendly.   Lanier also notes that all properties are within walking or driving distance to Pleasure Island’s main attractions – Carolina Beach and Kure Beach. The former, as described by Lanier, is the more commercialized of the two destinations and features a boardwalk, outdoor dining options and a plethora of weekly activities including fireworks, live music, amusement park pop-ups, and movies under the stars. Kure Beach offers a more residential feel with its fishing pier, intimate restaurants and family favorite, North Carolina Aquarium at Fort Fisher.More water fun awaits, too. “There is a harbor and a canal that feed into the intercoastal. We have several properties on the harbor so guests can bring their boat, kayak, [or jet ski] and travel between islands,” says Lanier.   A stay with Victory Beach Vacations is an annual pilgrimage for most. “A large percentage of guests are previous guests. Some even reserve the same property for the next year as they’re checking out,” Lanier says. “It’s almost like it’s their personal vacation home.”   Even before guests arrive at their vacation destination, the Victory Beach Vacations’ website greets them with a live beach cam and exquisite aerial footage of both Carolina and Kure Beaches.
