How to book the best vacation property experience:

Sticking to a rental home budget:

  • Book your rental home in Fall or Spring to enjoy beautiful weather while saving money and avoiding crowds. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Southport vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation on the coast? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with loved ones at your favorite beach.
  • Book your vacation home as early as possible. Rental schedules generally become available a year in advance (or in September just after the Summer season ends). Many groups book their Summer vacations during Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years Eve get-togethers. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
  • Owners sometimes offer special rates for veterans and active duty military. Make sure to check with your property manager to see if special offers are available for your family.
  • Management companies and individual rental owners usually offer their guests an option to add trip insurance. Trip insurance, which usually costs 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed time as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance can be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for additional information.
  • Look for your local visitors guide upon arrival. If your rental property doesn't have one, you can find them at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers. In addition to great local articles, visitors guides contain coupons for local attractions, tours, restaurants, and shops.

Make a plan and pick the right Southport rental home:

  • Choose vacation dates and max budget.
  • Decide how many beds and the bed configuration your family requires. Hobbs Realty - Find your \"Coral Relief\" in this gorgeous six-bedroom oceanfront home with a private pool! has 7 bedrooms and 7 bathrooms.
  • Specific information regarding bedrooms and bed types is usually available on booking websites. If they are not listed, email the host before you reserve your rental. Note that most property listings specify the max. guest capacity, which typically includes sofa beds in living rooms.
  • Looking for special amenities? Most websites include amenity lists and search filters. Use these to your advantage to find the perfect rental home.
  • Proper accessibility can make or break a vacation for those with limited mobility. .
  • Some rentals allow pets, but some do not. Acceptable types of dog or cat, size and breeds may be restricted, and additional costs may apply. Ask the property management company about pet restrictions before booking.

More tips for your stay:

  • We recommend storing the host's information in your smartphone and wallet.
  • Upon arrival, make note of any issues with the rental property and immediately contact the host. Record all correspondence in case a dispute arises.
  • Ask questions. You may want instructions for a hot tub, A/V setup or appliance. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief phone call prevents a lot of concerns.
  • Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking policies can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You will increase your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors are a fantastic resource to find the best local restaurants, beaches, and hangouts.
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local! Residents can usually help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to find the best seashells, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for crabbing?
  • Keep the property locked while you're out! Don't let burglars ruin your vacation.
  • Re-check the property to confirm that you've packed everything on check-out day. Re-check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden treasure. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Walk through the rental a final time and keep an eye out for damage. We suggest inspecting the property with the host whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the manager is not available, remember to take pictures of the property to record its condition at check-out.
  • Did you have a great stay? Most vacation rental websites make it easy for travelers to provide feedback. If your rental and/or property management company was fantastic, they always love to hear your praise. If anything was wrong and they failed to address it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make it a point as part of your comments.

Victory Beach Vacations

Visitors who are on the hunt for the postcard-perfect vacation rental in the heart of the Carolina Beach or Kure Beach area will find an enticing selection and plenty of friendly customer service when they rent through Victory Beach Vacations. Based in Carolina Beach in the coastal Cape Fear region, Victory Beach Vacations has more than 100 vacation rentals in all shapes and sizes to ensure that every vacationing family can find their dream home away from home on the beach.   When you book your Cape Fear getaway with Victory Beach Vacations, the fun doesn’t end when you leave the beach, it continues with an array of privately-owned properties outfitted with all of the amenities needed for a fabulous beach vacation.   Jenna Lanier, General Manager, explains that her family first opened the rental and property management business in 2002. At the forefront of Victory Beach operations is Lanier’s mother, Caroline Meeks. Meeks is both the Broker in Charge and co-owner with husband, Buck Meeks, who manages the Field Services team with Lanier’s husband, Scott.   For nearly 20 years, the Victory Beach team has worked tirelessly to establish a network of top-of-the-line rental properties for Cape Fear visitors to enjoy. “As far as our properties go,” explains Lanier, “they are all updated, well-furnished and appointed. “We have always performed post-cleaning inspections and since the pandemic, have put freshly laundered duvets over all of the comforters between rentals.”   Lanier emphasizes how important the guests experience is “we strive to give our guests a relaxing, stress free, memorable vacation.” This emphasis on customer service has led to Victory Beach Vacations having a 4.8 Google rating with over 300 reviews by happy owners and guests. In addition to Victory Beach’s superior sanitation practices, the company offers properties for every type of visitor. Choose from luxury oceanfront houses and condos to more reasonbly priced 2nd row properties with oceanviews. Many properties include pools and hot tubs as well, perfect for outdoor entertaining, and many are dog friendly.   Lanier also notes that all properties are within walking or driving distance to Pleasure Island’s main attractions – Carolina Beach and Kure Beach. The former, as described by Lanier, is the more commercialized of the two destinations and features a boardwalk, outdoor dining options and a plethora of weekly activities including fireworks, live music, amusement park pop-ups, and movies under the stars. Kure Beach offers a more residential feel with its fishing pier, intimate restaurants and family favorite, North Carolina Aquarium at Fort Fisher.More water fun awaits, too. “There is a harbor and a canal that feed into the intercoastal. We have several properties on the harbor so guests can bring their boat, kayak, [or jet ski] and travel between islands,” says Lanier.   A stay with Victory Beach Vacations is an annual pilgrimage for most. “A large percentage of guests are previous guests. Some even reserve the same property for the next year as they’re checking out,” Lanier says. “It’s almost like it’s their personal vacation home.”   Even before guests arrive at their vacation destination, the Victory Beach Vacations’ website greets them with a live beach cam and exquisite aerial footage of both Carolina and Kure Beaches.
