Staying at the Greenfield Gathering Place is a walk in the park- literally! A great place for families and get togethers, this cute and beautiful 3 BR 2 bath home is located right next to Greenfield Lake park. Clean modern design, comfortable beds, a outfitted eat-in kitchen, furnished deck and privacy fenced backyard, and convenient location will provide you a great place to relax after all the fun.

Totally refreshed with new floor, paint, and fixtures. The modern decor has a clean and uncluttered design. The living room has a comfortable couch and a big intelligent TV if you’re looking for some relaxation. The chef’s kitchen has a great 5 burner gas stove, granite countertops, big refrigerator, open face cabinets, plenty of cookware, and dinner service for 8. The kitchen bar seats 4 and opens up into the dining room which seats 6. Each bedroom has a queen size bed with a memory foam hybrid bed and protector. The master bedroom has a full bath and a walk-in closet. Washer/dryer and wifi are supplied.

The real star of the show is that when you open the back door, walk onto the furnished deck, and then through landscaped backyard on the brick path and open the back gate: you’re in Greenfield Lake Park! You can go around the lake on the 5 mile long walking and cycling path, rent a reasonably priced kayak or paddleboat and cruise past the cypress trees in the lake, take the kids to the swing set and playground, appreciate a picnic, or even bring your deck and hit the skatepark! All that is in walking distance to the home, which is located right on Greenfield lake park. I lived here for a number of years and spent countless hours playing with my daughter in the park, running around and boating in the lake. This is a impressive park with terrific foliage and tons of wildlife.

You'll have the whole home to yourself! You'll receive access codes for the front door. The Garage is not available to park in or use. We use it for storage, it is locked. There is also on locked closet in the home which is used by the cleaners.

We are here if you need us, invisible if you don't. You can check in anytime with the keypad lock and start calming! We'll likely text you during your stay to let you know we are available. If we don't hear from you, we will assume you're happy!

This home is located on a peaceful side street, yet is conveniently located just a 6 min drive to the downtown riverwalk, 20 min to Wrightsville Beach, and 25 min to Carolina Beach. The increasingly hip neighborhood has eateries and bars within a short walking distance, such as The Satellite Bar and Parlor (just a 5 min walk!), the New Anthem Beer Project Taproom, The Second Glass Wine Bar, and The Rusty Nail for drinks and occasional live music, The Harp restaurant and pub for Irish food, and Benny’s Big Time Pizzeria for Italian fare.

Off-street parking included.

This is a place to chill and relax. We include coffee, a few lite options for breakfast, and basic essentials available for you when you arrive!

Strategies to get the optimal Southport vacation rental experience:

Get the most from your budget:

  • The earlier your group can reserve a vacation rental, the easier your search will be. The most desirable vacation rentals are reserved very early. Reserving your rental property up to twelve months before your vacation is recommended. Christmas, Thanksgiving and New Years Eve are excellent times to plan and book your rental home.
  • June, July, and August are the most expensive months along the coast of NC. To find the most suitable rental within budget, we strongly suggest reserving in the Spring or Fall. You'll benefit from lower rental rates, better selection, warm weather and the absence of large crowds at your favorite Southport restaurants and activities. Many vacationers use this strategy to find larger homes within budget, or to reserve a beach front vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during the Summer months. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Southport vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation on the coast? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with friends and family at the beach.
  • Some hosts offer promotional rates for veterans. Make sure to check with your host or property manager to see if special offers are available for your family.
  • Property managers typically offer guests an option to add trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which normally costs 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any days missed as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel stay or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance might be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for specifics.
  • Look for your local Southport visitors guide magazine upon arrival. If your rental home doesn't have one, you can find them at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers. In addition to great articles, travel guide magazines have money saving offers on nearby accommodations, restaurants and tours.

How to choose the best rental in the Southport area:

  • Choose vacation dates and budget.
  • Decide how many beds and what type of bedroom configuration your group requires. Greenfield Gathering Place. has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Southport rentals search.
  • Specific details about bedrooms and bed counts & types is usually available on booking pages. If not, contact the host before booking the property. Remember that most properties list the maximum guest capacity, which oftentimes includes sofa beds and bunks.
  • If your family is traveling with pets, you will need a pet-friendly vacation rental. Ask for details on breed, weight, and type requirements. Be aware that some hosts charge pet deposits and fees.
  • Does your family require particular amenities? Most rental search websites include amenity lists and search filters.
  • Appropriate accessibility can make or break a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. Confirm all required amenities are available before booking

Tips to have a terrific stay:

  • Get the property manager's contact number and check in/check out procedures for your rental property. We recommend storing the manager's contact information in your smartphone.
  • Ask questions. You may need instructions for a garage door opener, stereo or WIFI setup. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief phone call prevents lots of difficulties.
  • Lock your rental property while you are gone! Don't let burglars ruin your family vacation.
  • Make a record of any damages to the rental at check in, and immediately e-mail them to the property manager. We specifically recommend texts and e-mails, as they usually contain built-in time stamps that are useful if a dispute arises.
  • Respect the neighborhood. Frequently, surrounding homes are filled by local residents. Respecting late-night noise limits and parking rules can make a stay significantly more pleasurable.
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local! Locals can typically point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to rent beach equipment, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for crabbing?
  • Double-check the property to make sure that you've packed all belongings at check-out. Re-check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden treasure. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Go through the property a final time and scan for damages to contents or the property itself. We suggest walking through with the property manager whenever you can. If the manager isn't available, remember to take video and pictures of the property to record its condition at check-out.
  • Did your group have a terrific time? Many rental websites make it easy for travelers to provide feedback. If your property and/or property manager was wonderful, they will likely appreciate your kind words. If anything was imperfect and they failed to address it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make it a point as part of your review.

Victory Beach Vacations

Visitors who are on the hunt for the postcard-perfect vacation rental in the heart of the Carolina Beach or Kure Beach area will find an enticing selection and plenty of friendly customer service when they rent through Victory Beach Vacations. Based in Carolina Beach in the coastal Cape Fear region, Victory Beach Vacations has more than 100 vacation rentals in all shapes and sizes to ensure that every vacationing family can find their dream home away from home on the beach.   When you book your Cape Fear getaway with Victory Beach Vacations, the fun doesn’t end when you leave the beach, it continues with an array of privately-owned properties outfitted with all of the amenities needed for a fabulous beach vacation.   Jenna Lanier, General Manager, explains that her family first opened the rental and property management business in 2002. At the forefront of Victory Beach operations is Lanier’s mother, Caroline Meeks. Meeks is both the Broker in Charge and co-owner with husband, Buck Meeks, who manages the Field Services team with Lanier’s husband, Scott.   For nearly 20 years, the Victory Beach team has worked tirelessly to establish a network of top-of-the-line rental properties for Cape Fear visitors to enjoy. “As far as our properties go,” explains Lanier, “they are all updated, well-furnished and appointed. “We have always performed post-cleaning inspections and since the pandemic, have put freshly laundered duvets over all of the comforters between rentals.”   Lanier emphasizes how important the guests experience is “we strive to give our guests a relaxing, stress free, memorable vacation.” This emphasis on customer service has led to Victory Beach Vacations having a 4.8 Google rating with over 300 reviews by happy owners and guests. In addition to Victory Beach’s superior sanitation practices, the company offers properties for every type of visitor. Choose from luxury oceanfront houses and condos to more reasonbly priced 2nd row properties with oceanviews. Many properties include pools and hot tubs as well, perfect for outdoor entertaining, and many are dog friendly.   Lanier also notes that all properties are within walking or driving distance to Pleasure Island’s main attractions – Carolina Beach and Kure Beach. The former, as described by Lanier, is the more commercialized of the two destinations and features a boardwalk, outdoor dining options and a plethora of weekly activities including fireworks, live music, amusement park pop-ups, and movies under the stars. Kure Beach offers a more residential feel with its fishing pier, intimate restaurants and family favorite, North Carolina Aquarium at Fort Fisher.More water fun awaits, too. “There is a harbor and a canal that feed into the intercoastal. We have several properties on the harbor so guests can bring their boat, kayak, [or jet ski] and travel between islands,” says Lanier.   A stay with Victory Beach Vacations is an annual pilgrimage for most. “A large percentage of guests are previous guests. Some even reserve the same property for the next year as they’re checking out,” Lanier says. “It’s almost like it’s their personal vacation home.”   Even before guests arrive at their vacation destination, the Victory Beach Vacations’ website greets them with a live beach cam and exquisite aerial footage of both Carolina and Kure Beaches.
