Tips and Tricks to get the perfect Southport rental home experience:

Find your perfect vacation home:

  • Book your rental as soon as possible. Rental schedules generally open 12 months in advance (or in September just after Summertime ends). Many groups reserve their Summer vacation rentals during holiday gatherings. Book before these holidays for best selection.
  • Booking a rental in Spring or Fall is our favorite way to save money on your vacation rental. Rental rates are lower, and you'll find a larger selection of desirable properties.
  • Some hosts offer rate reductions for veterans. Ask your property manager if special offers are available for your family.
  • Booking websites often offer their guests an option to obtain trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which normally costs between 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed trip time as a result of medical-related issues or weather, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for additional information.
  • Often, management companies and vacation rental houses supply Southport area travel guide magazines which will include special deals, either offered directly by local businesses, or through a partnership between the property management company and the business itself. You can also find Southport area magazine and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.

Use filters to search efficiently:

  • Select a group lead, choose your trip dates, and select a maximum budget.
  • Decide how many bedrooms and the bed configuration your family needs. Inner Coastal Views, dog friendly with sunsets galore, steps away from beach!! has 3 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms.
  • Specific details about bedrooms and bed types is normally available on booking websites. If they are not listed, contact the property management company before you reserve the vacation property. Note that most listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which oftentimes includes pull-out couches.
  • Some properties allow pets, but others don't. Allowable types of dog or cat, size and breeds may be restricted, and additional costs may apply. Ask the host about your furry family members before booking.
  • Looking for specific amenities? Most websites include search filters for amenities.
  • Suitable accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for guests with disabilities. Confirm all necessary amenities are included before booking

Some things to know before you go:

  • Store the host's contact information in your smartphone.
  • Ask questions. You may want instructions for a fireplace, elevator or kitchen appliance. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief call prevents many difficulties.
  • Keep your rental home locked while you are away! Don't let burglars ruin your trip.
  • Upon check-in, record any issues with the property and immediately contact the host. Record all correspondence in case a dispute arises.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like troublesome vacationers disrupting your peace. Practice the golden rule for common sense. If they like you, locals might even recommend great local food and attractions you would have never otherwise known!
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Local residents can frequently point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to get the best seafood, have a great night out, or the best spots for fishing?
  • At departure, take a final walk-through to confirm you didn't forget any personal items. Check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden items. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Please make sure to walk through the property one final time and keep an eye out for damages to contents or the property itself. We recommend inspecting the property with the host whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the manager isn't available, ensure that you take pictures of the rental to record its condition.
  • Did you have a excellent stay? Most rental home management companies make it easy for clients to provide reviews. If your property and/or property manager was great, they would love to hear it. If anything was imperfect and they failed to address it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make a note as part of your feedback.

Victory Beach Vacations

Visitors who are on the hunt for the postcard-perfect vacation rental in the heart of the Carolina Beach or Kure Beach area will find an enticing selection and plenty of friendly customer service when they rent through Victory Beach Vacations. Based in Carolina Beach in the coastal Cape Fear region, Victory Beach Vacations has more than 100 vacation rentals in all shapes and sizes to ensure that every vacationing family can find their dream home away from home on the beach.   When you book your Cape Fear getaway with Victory Beach Vacations, the fun doesn’t end when you leave the beach, it continues with an array of privately-owned properties outfitted with all of the amenities needed for a fabulous beach vacation.   Jenna Lanier, General Manager, explains that her family first opened the rental and property management business in 2002. At the forefront of Victory Beach operations is Lanier’s mother, Caroline Meeks. Meeks is both the Broker in Charge and co-owner with husband, Buck Meeks, who manages the Field Services team with Lanier’s husband, Scott.   For nearly 20 years, the Victory Beach team has worked tirelessly to establish a network of top-of-the-line rental properties for Cape Fear visitors to enjoy. “As far as our properties go,” explains Lanier, “they are all updated, well-furnished and appointed. “We have always performed post-cleaning inspections and since the pandemic, have put freshly laundered duvets over all of the comforters between rentals.”   Lanier emphasizes how important the guests experience is “we strive to give our guests a relaxing, stress free, memorable vacation.” This emphasis on customer service has led to Victory Beach Vacations having a 4.8 Google rating with over 300 reviews by happy owners and guests. In addition to Victory Beach’s superior sanitation practices, the company offers properties for every type of visitor. Choose from luxury oceanfront houses and condos to more reasonbly priced 2nd row properties with oceanviews. Many properties include pools and hot tubs as well, perfect for outdoor entertaining, and many are dog friendly.   Lanier also notes that all properties are within walking or driving distance to Pleasure Island’s main attractions – Carolina Beach and Kure Beach. The former, as described by Lanier, is the more commercialized of the two destinations and features a boardwalk, outdoor dining options and a plethora of weekly activities including fireworks, live music, amusement park pop-ups, and movies under the stars. Kure Beach offers a more residential feel with its fishing pier, intimate restaurants and family favorite, North Carolina Aquarium at Fort Fisher.More water fun awaits, too. “There is a harbor and a canal that feed into the intercoastal. We have several properties on the harbor so guests can bring their boat, kayak, [or jet ski] and travel between islands,” says Lanier.   A stay with Victory Beach Vacations is an annual pilgrimage for most. “A large percentage of guests are previous guests. Some even reserve the same property for the next year as they’re checking out,” Lanier says. “It’s almost like it’s their personal vacation home.”   Even before guests arrive at their vacation destination, the Victory Beach Vacations’ website greets them with a live beach cam and exquisite aerial footage of both Carolina and Kure Beaches.
