Oh, my seashells! After a brief hiatus from the heaven that is Bald Head Island, we've realized our blunder and are thrilled to be back at our beloved getaway. Located in the tranquility of the maritime forest, we are serenaded by the symphony of crashing ocean waves just a stone's throw away from all the island luxuries - from shopping to ferry rides, and the impressive activities at the Bald Head Island Club. Our abode, the whimsically named "13 Dowitcher," offers a bird's eye view of the 6th fairway, surrounded by the enchanting wildlife of the lagoon and the melodious chirping of our feathered friends. With a completely-equipped kitchen, a pair of bicycles, and two kayaks tucked away at the creek, this comfortable bungalow features three bedrooms, including a private crofter ideal for older kids or a second couple. The unique reverse floor plan sets the living, dining, and kitchen spaces upstairs. Downstairs, you'll find a extravagant master king suite and a guest bedroom equipped with a queen bed, twin bed, and bath. But wait, there's more! A separate crofter above the garage features an additional queen bed and bath. And for golf enthusiasts? Access to the BHI club with golf privileges is available for an additional fee.

  • Reserve your rental as early as possible. Rental schedules usually become available 12 months in advance (or in September just after Summertime ends). Many families book their Summer vacation rentals during holiday get-togethers. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
  • To find the most suitable rental within your budget, we strongly suggest reserving in the Fall or Spring. You'll enjoy lower rental rates, better selection, gorgeous weather and the absence of large crowds at the beach and popular Southport attractions. Many vacationers use this strategy to reserve larger homes, or to reserve a beach front rental that would otherwise be unavailable during June, July, and August. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Southport vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation on the coast? Thanksgiving and Christmas are great times to gather with friends and family at the beach.
  • Some property managers offer promotional rates for active duty military and veterans. Make sure to check with your host or property manager to see if special discounts are available for your group before you book.
  • Property managers usually offer guests an option to buy vacation insurance protection.   • Inspect the rental one final time and look for damages to contents or the property itself. We advise inspecting the property with the property manager whenever possible. If the property manager isn't available, remember to take photos of the property to record its condition.
  • Leave feedback! Hosts rely on great reviews to drive new reservations. They'll be thankful for your review. Alternatively, if something wasn't as described, other vacationers will be thankful you shared your experience and help them have the best future vacation. Please be fair with your feedback If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the manager had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded reasonably to fix it.
