Carolina Beach vacation rental booking tips:
Find your perfect vacation home:
- In the Southport area, The earlier your group can reserve a vacation home, the easier your search will be. The most desirable properties are booked early. Booking your vacation home up to 12 months before your travel dates is recommended. Holiday gatherings are excellent times to search for and book your rental home.
- Summer months are high season in the Southport area. Booking your Southport vacation rental in Fall or Spring is our favorite way to save money on your vacation rental. Rental rates are lower, and you'll find a larger selection of desirable homes. Many vacationers use this strategy to reserve larger homes, or to book a beach front vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable during the Summer. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Southport vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation on the coast? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with friends and family at the beach.
- Veterans and Active Duty Military members may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective host whether your group qualifies for a price reduction or discount.
- Management companies and individual rental owners often offer customers an option to add trip insurance. Trip insurance, which costs between 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for days missed as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel stay or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for program terms and fees.
- Many management companies and vacation rental houses supply Southport area visitors guides which will include special deals, either offered directly by local companies, or by way of a relationship with the management company and the business itself. You can also find visitors guide and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.
Finding the perfect vacation home in the Southport area:
- Start by having your group commit to trip dates and a max budget.
- Decide how many bedrooms and the bed configuration your group requires. 3 minute walk to beach; Golf cart included! has 4 bedrooms and 4 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Southport vacation rental search.
- Precise information about bedrooms and bed counts & types is normally accessible on booking websites. If they are not listed, email or call the property manager before you reserve your home. Remember that most listings specify maximum guest capacity, which often includes pull-out couches and bunk beds.
- If your group is bringing pets, you'll need to search for a pet-friendly rental. Request specifics on breed, size, and type restrictions. Note that some hosts charge additional pet fees.
- Are you looking for specific amenities? Most rental websites include search filters with amenity lists.
- Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for persons with a disability. .
Additional considerations:
- Add the host's information to your smartphone. Understand and take a copy of check in/check out procedures.
- Ask questions. You may need instructions for a garage door opener, elevator or WIFI setup. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief text message prevents lots of difficulties.
- Protect the rental owner (and your things!) by keeping the rental locked up while you are gone, just like you would back home.
- To ensure that no damages are attributed to your stay, record any problem areas when you arrive. Call the rental manager right away to relay any pre-existing damages. If there is a dispute about who is responsible, having the recorded problems and contact attempts will be very helpful.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like disrespectful visitors bothering your quiet neighborhood. Apply the golden rule for best judgement. If they like you, locals might even recommend great beaches and places you would have not otherwise known!
- Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Residents can usually help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to book the best tours, have a great night out, or the best spots for shopping?
- Double-check the vacation property to make sure that you've packed all personal items on check-out day. Remember to check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden belongings. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Record a video to document the condition of the property.
- Did your family have a fantastic stay? Most rental management companies make it easy for vacationers to provide reviews. If your rental property and/or property management company was wonderful, they always love to hear your praise. If anything was out of order and they failed to correct it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make a note as part of your comments.
