Located in the Maritime Forest, seemingly far away from it all, but surprisingly close to everything: two mins. to the beach or market; three to Old Baldy and the BHI Club. Though you may never want to leave the back porch. After a day or riding the waves, sink deep in the cushions with a beverage and book and end up quietly pondering the sculptural intricacies of Live Oak trees.
The living room has a cathedral ceiling that floods the room with light and makes the comfortable space feel even bigger. The 46-inch intelligent TV is perched above a rare cedar mantle. Live Edge Oak shelves add more warmth to the room. The open floor plan, flowing into the dining area, gives everybody the chance to be together-and spread out. In the kitchen, stainless steel nestles up to old heart pine shelving. The upstairs bedroom and full bath are the ideal getaway along with a separate living room. In the crofter, over the garage, is yet another queen bed and full bath. Three golf carts. Membership to the BHI Club available.

Getting the best rental value:

  • Book your rental as soon as possible. Rental schedules often become available 12 months in advance (or in September just after the Summer season ends). Many families reserve their Summer vacation rentals during holiday gatherings. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
  • To get the best value, consider shifting your family's Southport vacation week to the Spring or Fall seasons. May, September, and October offer great weather, fewer crowds, and reduced traffic. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Southport vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation near the ocean? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with family and friends at your favorite beach.
  • Veterans and Active Duty Military members may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property manager or host whether your group qualifies for a reduced rate.
  • Management companies and individual rental owners frequently offer renters an option to add vacation insurance protection.   • Don't forget to... Ask a local! Neighbors can often help. Who better to ask where to find the best bike paths, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for shopping?
  • At departure, take a walk-through to make sure you did not forget anything. Make sure to check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden items. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Go through the rental one final time and look for damage. We recommend walking through with the property manager whenever you can. If the host is not available, remember to take photographs of the rental to record its condition.
  • Remember to leave feedback! Hosts rely on excellent ratings to compel new bookings. They'll be grateful for your review. Alternatively, if something went wrong, other vacationing families will appreciate that you share your experience find their best rental home. Please be objective.
