Tips and Tricks for getting the perfect Southport vacation property experience:

Getting the most from your vacation rental budget:

  • In the Southport area, The earlier your group can book a rental home, the better your selection will be. The most desirable vacation homes are reserved very early. Reserving your rental property up to twelve months before your vacation dates is recommended. Holiday gatherings are excellent times to search for and book your rental home.
  • Summertime is high season in Carolina Beach. To get the best value, consider changing your family's Southport vacation week to the Spring or Fall shoulder seasons. May, September, and even October offer great weather, , and greatly reduced traffic. Many vacationers use this method to find larger homes within budget, or to reserve a beach front vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during the Summer months.
  • Veterans and Active Duty Military members may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property manager if your family qualifies for a discount.
  • Property management companies usually offer renters an option to buy trip insurance. Trip insurance, which generally will cost you anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed vacation time as a result of medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance can be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for additional information.
  • Often, property management companies and vacation rental houses supply Southport area travel guide magazines which will include coupons, either offered directly by local companies, or through a relationship between the property management company and the business itself. You can also find Southport visitors guide and coupon books at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers.

How to pick the perfect rental:

  • First, have your family choose vacation dates and a budget.
  • Decide how many beds and the configuration your family needs. 1112 Relax Life Is Good by Atlantic Towers has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our rental home search.
  • Specific information regarding bedrooms and bed counts & types is normally available on booking websites. If you don't see them listed, call the host before you book the property. Remember that most property listings specify maximum guest capacity, which typically includes sofa beds in living rooms. You will need to work out what configuration is optimal for your vacation family.
  • If your group is vacationing with pets, filter your search for a rental that allows animals. Make sure to ask for information on breed, size, and type requirements. Usually, property owners charge pet deposits and fees.
  • Are you visiting for a specific event or attraction? Try a map search to browse nearby rentals.
  • Proper accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for the less-mobile. Remember to confirm all necessary amenities are available before booking

More tips for your visit:

  • Get the property manager's contact number and entry/exit procedures for your rental.
  • Property managers are available to help! Don't be shy to ask questions before, during, or after your stay.
  • Keep the property locked while you're out! Don't let crooks spoil your trip.
  • Upon check-in, record any issues with the rental property and immediately alert the owner. Keep records of all correspondence in case a dispute arises.
  • Respect your neighbors. Often, surrounding homes are filled by local residents. Respecting late-night noise limits and parking policies is the right thing to do.
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local! Locals can usually help. Who better to ask where to get the best seafood, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fine dining?
  • Don't leave anything behind! Before departing, walk through the rental property to reconfirm you've collected all belongings. Check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden items. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Go through the property one final time and keep an eye out for damages to contents or the property itself. We suggest inspecting the property with the property manager whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the manager is not available, take photos of the property to record its condition.
  • Did you have a wonderful stay? Most rental websites make it easy for clients to provide feedback. If your rental property and/or property manager was wonderful, they will likely appreciate your kind words. If anything was imperfect and they failed to fix it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make a note as part of your review.
