Tricks and tips for getting the best Carolina Beach vacation property experience:

Sticking to your rental budget:

  • June, July, and August are the most expensive months in coastal NC. To find the best value, consider shifting your vacation to the Spring or Fall months. May, September, and even October offer warmer temperatures, , and reduced traffic. Many vacationers use this strategy to find larger homes within budget, or to reserve an oceanfront vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable during the Summer months. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Southport vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation on the coast? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with loved ones at the beach.
  • Book your vacation home as soon as possible. Rental schedules usually become available a year in advance (or in September just after the Summer season ends). Many families book their Summer vacations during Winter holiday gatherings. Book before these holidays for best selection.
  • Owners sometimes offer discounts or promotional rates for veterans. Ask your host or property manager if discounts are available for your family.
  • Property managers typically offer customers an option to obtain vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which commonly will cost anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any days missed as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for specifics.
  • Many management companies and vacation rental houses supply Southport area travel guides which include special deals, either offered independently by local companies, or by way of a relationship with the property management company and the business itself. You can also find Southport area magazine and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.

How to select the best vacation rental in Carolina Beach:

  • Begin by selecting the best vacation week and a max budget.
  • Note the number bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration your group needs. NEW LISTING! Coral Cottage (3-Bedroom Villa) by RedAwning has 3 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms.
  • Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts & types is commonly accessible on booking websites. Otherwise, call the property manager before booking the vacation property. Remember that most listings specify maximum guest capacity, which often includes sofa beds and bunks. You will need to determine what is right for your trip.
  • Are you visiting for a single attraction? Use a map search to find nearby properties.
  • Proper accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for those with limited mobility. Confirm all necessary amenities are available before booking.
  • Some rental properties allow pets, but some do not. Allowable types of family pet, size and breeds may be restricted, and additional fees may apply. Ask the host about your furry family members before booking.

More considerations for your visit:

  • Review check in & check out procedures before leaving home. Save the instructions to your phone, and take a printed backup.
  • During arrival, note any issues with the property and immediately contact the property manager. Keep records of all correspondence in case a dispute arises.
  • Property managers are great sources of help! Feel free to ask any questions during your stay.
  • Be a good neighbor. Often times, adjacent homes are occupied by permanent residents. Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking policies reduces conflict and allows everyone to enjoy their day.
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local! Local residents can frequently help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to find the best bike paths, have a great night out, or the best spots for BBQ?
  • Ensure you protect the property owner (and your stuff!) by locking the property when you are away, just like you would back home.
  • Upon check-out, take a walk-through to confirm you didn't leave anything behind. Remember to check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden treasure. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Inspect the property a final time and scan for damage. We recommend inspecting the property with the host whenever you can. If the manager is not available, remember to take photos of the property to record its condition at check-out.
  • Leave feedback! Property managers rely on excellent reviews to propel future bookings. They'll be much obliged for your review. Alternatively, if something wasn't right, other vacationers will be thankful you shared your experience and help them have the best future vacation. Please be fair with your feedback If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the host had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded quickly to solve it.

Victory Beach Vacations

Visitors who are on the hunt for the postcard-perfect vacation rental in the heart of the Carolina Beach or Kure Beach area will find an enticing selection and plenty of friendly customer service when they rent through Victory Beach Vacations. Based in Carolina Beach in the coastal Cape Fear region, Victory Beach Vacations has more than 100 vacation rentals in all shapes and sizes to ensure that every vacationing family can find their dream home away from home on the beach.   When you book your Cape Fear getaway with Victory Beach Vacations, the fun doesn’t end when you leave the beach, it continues with an array of privately-owned properties outfitted with all of the amenities needed for a fabulous beach vacation.   Jenna Lanier, General Manager, explains that her family first opened the rental and property management business in 2002. At the forefront of Victory Beach operations is Lanier’s mother, Caroline Meeks. Meeks is both the Broker in Charge and co-owner with husband, Buck Meeks, who manages the Field Services team with Lanier’s husband, Scott.   For nearly 20 years, the Victory Beach team has worked tirelessly to establish a network of top-of-the-line rental properties for Cape Fear visitors to enjoy. “As far as our properties go,” explains Lanier, “they are all updated, well-furnished and appointed. “We have always performed post-cleaning inspections and since the pandemic, have put freshly laundered duvets over all of the comforters between rentals.”   Lanier emphasizes how important the guests experience is “we strive to give our guests a relaxing, stress free, memorable vacation.” This emphasis on customer service has led to Victory Beach Vacations having a 4.8 Google rating with over 300 reviews by happy owners and guests. In addition to Victory Beach’s superior sanitation practices, the company offers properties for every type of visitor. Choose from luxury oceanfront houses and condos to more reasonbly priced 2nd row properties with oceanviews. Many properties include pools and hot tubs as well, perfect for outdoor entertaining, and many are dog friendly.   Lanier also notes that all properties are within walking or driving distance to Pleasure Island’s main attractions – Carolina Beach and Kure Beach. The former, as described by Lanier, is the more commercialized of the two destinations and features a boardwalk, outdoor dining options and a plethora of weekly activities including fireworks, live music, amusement park pop-ups, and movies under the stars. Kure Beach offers a more residential feel with its fishing pier, intimate restaurants and family favorite, North Carolina Aquarium at Fort Fisher.More water fun awaits, too. “There is a harbor and a canal that feed into the intercoastal. We have several properties on the harbor so guests can bring their boat, kayak, [or jet ski] and travel between islands,” says Lanier.   A stay with Victory Beach Vacations is an annual pilgrimage for most. “A large percentage of guests are previous guests. Some even reserve the same property for the next year as they’re checking out,” Lanier says. “It’s almost like it’s their personal vacation home.”   Even before guests arrive at their vacation destination, the Victory Beach Vacations’ website greets them with a live beach cam and exquisite aerial footage of both Carolina and Kure Beaches.
