Reviews:
June 2024 - 10/10 Dream Vacation Home!
We’ve had the enjoyment of staying at this property for our yearly family vacation over the last few years and it never disappoints! The home is furnished charmingly and always spotless. Multiple rooms to choose from with sleeping arrangements for infants and young kids. It is a short golf cart drive to the Bald Head Island Club and when we want to switch it up and spend the days at the Shoals Club, we get to savor a impressive breathtaking drive around the coastline. The hosts are always responsive and check in to make sure things are going well. Can’t wait to return again next summer!

Southport rental home tips and tricks:
When to book & When to go:
- Summer is high season in the Southport area. Booking your Southport vacation rental in the Spring or Fall is an excellent way to save money on your vacation. Rental rates are lower, and you'll find a larger selection of desirable homes. Many vacationers use this method to reserve larger homes, or to reserve an oceanfront rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during the high season. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Southport vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation on the coast? Thanksgiving and Christmas are great times to gather with friends and family at the beach.
- The sooner your group can book, the better your selection will be. The most desirable vacation rentals are reserved early. Reserving your vacation rental six to twelve months before your travel dates is recommended. Holiday gatherings are excellent times to search for and book your rental.
- Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property owner or host whether your vacationing group qualifies for a discount.
- Booking websites usually offer guests an option to buy trip insurance. Trip insurance, which generally will cost you anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed time as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance can be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for specifics.
- Look for your local Southport area magazine upon arrival. If your rental doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local shops and visitor centers. In addition to great local information, visitor guides have offers and deals for local tours and attractions.
Use filters to search efficiently:
- First, have your group agree to vacation dates and a maximum budget.
- Note the number beds and the configuration you need. Stunning Home w\/Ocean & Golf Course Views - Affordable off season rates has 4 bedrooms and 4 bathrooms.
- Precise details about bedrooms and bed counts & types is regularly available on booking websites. If not, email the property management company before booking the home. Note that most listings specify maximum guest capacity, which oftentimes includes pull-out couches and bunk beds.
- If there's a certain Southport beach you are enamored with, look for rentals that are either near by, or those that cater especially to your needs.
- Appropriate accessibility can make or break a vacation for persons with a disability. Make certain to inquire about specialized equipment and wheel chair accessibility.
- Some rental properties allow pets, and some do not. Allowable types of pet, size and breeds may be restricted, and added fees may apply. Ask your host about your furry family members before booking.
More tips for your stay:
- Put the host's information in your smartphone.
- To make certain no damages are attributed to your family's visit, inspect the property for any problem areas upon your arrival. Call the rental manager immediately to relay any damages. If there is a dispute about who is responsible, having the recorded concerns and contact attempts will be very helpful.
- Hosts are great sources of help! Don't be shy to ask any questions during your stay.
- Be a good neighbor. Frequently, surrounding homes are occupied by local residents. Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking policies is the right thing to do.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Neighbors can often help. Who better to ask where to spend a rainy day, have a great night out, or the best spots for crabbing?
- Lock your rental home while you are away. Keep your property safe!
- Don't leave anything behind! Before you drive away, walk through the rental property to make sure you've collected everything. Re-check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden belongings. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Inspect the rental a final time and look for any damage. We suggest walking through with the property manager whenever you can. If the manager is not available, take video and pictures of the property to record its condition at check-out.
- After your trip, leave a review! Hosts rely on good ratings to drive more bookings. They'll be thankful for your review. Alternatively, if something went wrong, other vacationers will appreciate that you share your experience find their best vacation home. Be fair with your review. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the manager had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded reasonably to solve it.
