Tips and Tricks for getting the best Southport rental home experience:

Money saving strategies:

  • Reserve your rental as early as possible. Rental schedules usually become available 12 months in advance (or in September just after Summertime ends). Many families book their Summer rental homes during holiday gatherings. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
  • Summer is high season in Carolina Beach. Reserve your rental property in Fall or Spring months to enjoy warm weather while saving money and avoiding crowded roads, restaurants, and activities. Many vacationers use this method to find larger homes within budget, or to reserve an oceanfront vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during the high season.
  • Some property managers offer discounts or promotional rates for veterans and active duty military. Ask your property manager if rate reductions are available for your family.
  • Booking websites usually offer guests an option to purchase trip insurance. Trip insurance, which will generally cost anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed days as a result of medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel stay or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance can be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for specifics.
  • Often, rental management companies supply Southport area visitors guide magazines which often include money-saving deals, either offered directly by local businesses, or by way of a relationship between the rental management company and the business itself. You can also find Southport area magazine and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.

How to select the perfect rental in Carolina Beach:

  • Begin by choosing potential vacation weeks and a maximum budget.
  • Decide how many beds and the configuration your family requires. Lulla-by the Sea an Amazing Oceanfront Beach House With Pool and Elevator has 5 bedrooms and 4 bathrooms.
  • Precise information about bedrooms and bed types is often accessible on booking websites. Otherwise, email the property management company before booking the home. Note that most property listings specify maximum guest capacity, which usually includes sofa beds and bunks. You will need to determine which bed configuration is optimal for your vacation family.
  • Some rental properties allow pets, but some don't. Allowable types of family pet, size and breeds may be restricted, and additional fees may apply. Ask the owner about allowable breeds and types before booking.
  • If there's an individual Southport beach you are crazy about, browse rentals that are either near by, or those that cater to your desires.
  • Suitable accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for the less-mobile. Make certain to ask about wheel chair entry, pool lifts and specialized equipment needs.

Considerations for your stay:

  • Get the owner's phone number and arrival/departure procedures for your rental property.
  • Property managers are great sources of help! Don't be shy to ask any questions before, during, or after your stay.
  • Lock your rental home while you're away. Protect your property!
  • Make a record of any issues with the rental at check in, and immediately send them to the owner. We specifically recommend e-mails and text messages, as they usually contain built-in time stamps that can be very helpful if a dispute is filed.
  • Respecting quiet hours and parking policies can make a stay more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You will increase your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors are often a terrific source for finding the best local spots.
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Local residents can often help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to get the best breakfast in town, have a great night out, or the best spots for crabbing?
  • On check-out day, complete a final walk-through to confirm you did not forget anything. Check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden treasure. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Walk through the property a final time and keep an eye out for any damage. We advise inspecting the property with the property manager whenever possible. If the host isn't available, remember to take video of the rental to record its condition.
  • Did you have a great stay? Many rental home management companies make it easy for vacationers to provide comments. If your rental and/or property management company was fantastic, they would love to hear about it. If anything was out of order and they failed to address it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make it a point as part of your feedback.

Victory Beach Vacations

Visitors who are on the hunt for the postcard-perfect vacation rental in the heart of the Carolina Beach or Kure Beach area will find an enticing selection and plenty of friendly customer service when they rent through Victory Beach Vacations. Based in Carolina Beach in the coastal Cape Fear region, Victory Beach Vacations has more than 100 vacation rentals in all shapes and sizes to ensure that every vacationing family can find their dream home away from home on the beach.   When you book your Cape Fear getaway with Victory Beach Vacations, the fun doesn’t end when you leave the beach, it continues with an array of privately-owned properties outfitted with all of the amenities needed for a fabulous beach vacation.   Jenna Lanier, General Manager, explains that her family first opened the rental and property management business in 2002. At the forefront of Victory Beach operations is Lanier’s mother, Caroline Meeks. Meeks is both the Broker in Charge and co-owner with husband, Buck Meeks, who manages the Field Services team with Lanier’s husband, Scott.   For nearly 20 years, the Victory Beach team has worked tirelessly to establish a network of top-of-the-line rental properties for Cape Fear visitors to enjoy. “As far as our properties go,” explains Lanier, “they are all updated, well-furnished and appointed. “We have always performed post-cleaning inspections and since the pandemic, have put freshly laundered duvets over all of the comforters between rentals.”   Lanier emphasizes how important the guests experience is “we strive to give our guests a relaxing, stress free, memorable vacation.” This emphasis on customer service has led to Victory Beach Vacations having a 4.8 Google rating with over 300 reviews by happy owners and guests. In addition to Victory Beach’s superior sanitation practices, the company offers properties for every type of visitor. Choose from luxury oceanfront houses and condos to more reasonbly priced 2nd row properties with oceanviews. Many properties include pools and hot tubs as well, perfect for outdoor entertaining, and many are dog friendly.   Lanier also notes that all properties are within walking or driving distance to Pleasure Island’s main attractions – Carolina Beach and Kure Beach. The former, as described by Lanier, is the more commercialized of the two destinations and features a boardwalk, outdoor dining options and a plethora of weekly activities including fireworks, live music, amusement park pop-ups, and movies under the stars. Kure Beach offers a more residential feel with its fishing pier, intimate restaurants and family favorite, North Carolina Aquarium at Fort Fisher.More water fun awaits, too. “There is a harbor and a canal that feed into the intercoastal. We have several properties on the harbor so guests can bring their boat, kayak, [or jet ski] and travel between islands,” says Lanier.   A stay with Victory Beach Vacations is an annual pilgrimage for most. “A large percentage of guests are previous guests. Some even reserve the same property for the next year as they’re checking out,” Lanier says. “It’s almost like it’s their personal vacation home.”   Even before guests arrive at their vacation destination, the Victory Beach Vacations’ website greets them with a live beach cam and exquisite aerial footage of both Carolina and Kure Beaches. See for yourself by scanning the QR code and call Victory Beach Vacations at 910.458.0868 to book your Cape Fear getaway. Start making your memories today! —Grace Silipigni
