Strategies to get the perfect Southport vacation home experience:

When to visit Wrightsville Beach & When to reserve a Southport rental home:

  • Summer is the most expensive season along the coast of NC. To get the best value, consider changing your vacation week to the Spring or Fall shoulder seasons. May, September, and even October offer pleasant temperatures, less crowded beaches, and reduced traffic. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Southport vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday on the coast? Thanksgiving and Christmas are great times to gather with family and friends at your favorite beach.
  • Book your rental as soon as possible. Rental schedules usually become available a year in advance (or in September just after the Summer season ends). Many groups reserve their Summer rental homes during Thanksgiving and Christmas gatherings. Book before these holidays for best selection.
  • Some property managers offer discounts or promotional rates for veterans and active duty military. Make sure to check with your property manager to see if special discounts are available for your group.
  • Property managers usually offer customers an option to buy vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which normally costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for days missed as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance can be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for additional information.
  • Many management companies and vacation rental houses supply Southport area travel guide magazines which include money-saving offers, either offered directly by local companies, or through a relationship with the property management company and the business itself. You can also find Southport area magazine and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.
