Tips and Tricks to get the best vacation rental experience:

Finding your perfect rental home:

  • In the Southport area, The earlier your group can reserve a home, the better your selection will be. The best vacation rentals are reserved early. Reserving your rental up to 12 months before your vacation is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to search for and reserve your vacation rental.
  • Summer months are high season in the Southport area. To find the best value, consider changing your family's Southport vacation week to the Spring or Fall shoulder seasons. May, September, and October offer warmer temperatures, fewer crowds, and greatly reduced traffic. Many vacationers use this strategy to find larger homes within budget, or to book an oceanfront rental that would otherwise be unavailable during June, July, and August. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Southport vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday on the coast? Thanksgiving and Christmas are great times to gather with loved ones at your favorite beach.
  • Hosts sometimes offer discounts for active duty military and veterans. Remember to ask your host or property manager if special discounts are available for your group before you book.
  • Booking websites typically offer customers an option to add trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which normally will cost anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed time as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for additional information.
  • Often, management companies supply Southport area visitors guide magazines which often include money-saving offers, either offered directly by local businesses, or through a relationship with the property management company and the business itself. You can also find Southport visitors guide and coupon books at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers.

Use filters to search efficiently:

  • Choose a group leader, choose your dates, and choose a spending budget.
  • Decide how many bedrooms and the bed configuration your family needs. Latitude Adjustment: Recently updated oceanview home in East Beach has 4 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our rentals search.
  • Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed types is generally available on booking websites. If not, email or call the property owner before you book the vacation property. Remember that most property listings specify maximum guest capacity, which typically includes sofa beds in living rooms. You'll need to work out what bed configuration is suitable for your vacation family.
  • If your group is vacationing with pets, you'll need to find a pet-friendly rental. Request details on breed, weight, and type requirements. Some property owners require additional pet deposits and fees.
  • If there's an individual Southport destination you simply love, keep an eye out for homes that are either nearby, or those that cater especially to your needs.
  • Proper accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for persons with disabilities. .

More considerations for your visit:

  • Put the owner's contact information in your smartphone.
  • Ask questions. You may need instructions for a hot tub, stereo or kitchen appliance. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief text message prevents many problems.
  • Lock your rental while you're out. Protect your property!
  • Upon arrival, document any issues with the property and immediately contact the host. Keep records of all coorespondence.
  • Respecting quiet hours and parking restrictions can make a stay more pleasurable. You will enhance your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors can be a terrific source for finding the best local beaches.
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local! Local residents can often help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to rent beach equipment, have a great night out, or the best spots for shopping?
  • Just prior to departing, complete a walk-through to make sure you did not leave anything behind. Re-check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden treasure. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Please make sure to walk through the property a final time and keep an eye out for damages to contents or the property itself. We suggest walking through with the host whenever you can. If the host isn't available, remember to take video and pictures of the property to record its condition at check-out.
  • Remember to leave a review! Hosts rely on good ratings to drive new reservations. They'll be thankful for your feedback. Alternatively, if something wasn't as described, other vacationers will be thankful you shared your feedback and help them have the best future vacation. Be fair with your review. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the property manager could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded quickly to remedy it.

Victory Beach Vacations

Visitors who are on the hunt for the postcard-perfect vacation rental in the heart of the Carolina Beach or Kure Beach area will find an enticing selection and plenty of friendly customer service when they rent through Victory Beach Vacations. Based in Carolina Beach in the coastal Cape Fear region, Victory Beach Vacations has more than 100 vacation rentals in all shapes and sizes to ensure that every vacationing family can find their dream home away from home on the beach.   When you book your Cape Fear getaway with Victory Beach Vacations, the fun doesn’t end when you leave the beach, it continues with an array of privately-owned properties outfitted with all of the amenities needed for a fabulous beach vacation.   Jenna Lanier, General Manager, explains that her family first opened the rental and property management business in 2002. At the forefront of Victory Beach operations is Lanier’s mother, Caroline Meeks. Meeks is both the Broker in Charge and co-owner with husband, Buck Meeks, who manages the Field Services team with Lanier’s husband, Scott.   For nearly 20 years, the Victory Beach team has worked tirelessly to establish a network of top-of-the-line rental properties for Cape Fear visitors to enjoy. “As far as our properties go,” explains Lanier, “they are all updated, well-furnished and appointed. “We have always performed post-cleaning inspections and since the pandemic, have put freshly laundered duvets over all of the comforters between rentals.”   Lanier emphasizes how important the guests experience is “we strive to give our guests a relaxing, stress free, memorable vacation.” This emphasis on customer service has led to Victory Beach Vacations having a 4.8 Google rating with over 300 reviews by happy owners and guests. In addition to Victory Beach’s superior sanitation practices, the company offers properties for every type of visitor. Choose from luxury oceanfront houses and condos to more reasonbly priced 2nd row properties with oceanviews. Many properties include pools and hot tubs as well, perfect for outdoor entertaining, and many are dog friendly.   Lanier also notes that all properties are within walking or driving distance to Pleasure Island’s main attractions – Carolina Beach and Kure Beach. The former, as described by Lanier, is the more commercialized of the two destinations and features a boardwalk, outdoor dining options and a plethora of weekly activities including fireworks, live music, amusement park pop-ups, and movies under the stars. Kure Beach offers a more residential feel with its fishing pier, intimate restaurants and family favorite, North Carolina Aquarium at Fort Fisher.More water fun awaits, too. “There is a harbor and a canal that feed into the intercoastal. We have several properties on the harbor so guests can bring their boat, kayak, [or jet ski] and travel between islands,” says Lanier.   A stay with Victory Beach Vacations is an annual pilgrimage for most. “A large percentage of guests are previous guests. Some even reserve the same property for the next year as they’re checking out,” Lanier says. “It’s almost like it’s their personal vacation home.”   Even before guests arrive at their vacation destination, the Victory Beach Vacations’ website greets them with a live beach cam and exquisite aerial footage of both Carolina and Kure Beaches.
