Tips and Tricks to get the optimal Southport rental home experience:

Sticking to your budget:

  • To book the best rental home for your budget, we highly recommend reserving in Spring or Fall. You'll enjoy lower rental rates, better selection, warm weather and the absence of large crowds at Southport restaurants, tours, and activities.
  • Book your vacation rental as soon as possible. Rental schedules generally open a year in advance (or in September just after the Summer season ends). Many groups book their Summer vacations during Christmas and Thanksgiving get-togethers. Book before these holidays for best selection.
  • Hosts sometimes offer discounts for veterans. Remember to ask your property manager if rate reductions are available for your group.
  • Management companies and individual rental owners frequently offer guests an option to obtain trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which normally costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any days missed as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance can be a a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for additional information.
  • Often, management companies supply Southport area visitors guides that include special deals, either offered directly by local businesses, or by way of a relationship with the rental management company and the business itself. You can also find Southport visitors guide and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.

Make a plan and choose yourrental:

  • Select your vacation week and spending budget.
  • Determine how many beds and the configuration you need. Scout's Seascape: Oceanwalk Condo with Community Pool and Ocean Views! has 3 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms.
  • Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts is regularly accessible online. Otherwise, call the property management company before reserving the vacation home. Note that most properties list maximum guest capacity, which frequently includes sofa beds and bunks.
  • Visiting for a specific attraction or event? Try a map search to find nearby properties.
  • Appropriate accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. Make certain to inquire about wheel chair accessibility, pool lifts and specialized equipment needs.
  • If your group is bringing pets, you'll need to find a pet-friendly property. Get information on breed, weight, and type restrictions. Often, hosts charge pet deposits and fees.

More tips for your stay:

  • Review arrival and departure procedures before leaving home. Take a printed copy, and save the directions to your smartphone.
  • To make sure that damages are not linked to your visit, inspect the property for any problem areas during check in. Contact the property manager immediately to record any damages. If there is a dispute, having a record of issues and contact attempts will be useful.
  • Property managers are great sources of help! Feel free to ask questions during your stay.
  • Respect the neighborhood. Frequently, nearby homes are filled by local residents. Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking policies can make a stay significantly more pleasurable.
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Residents can typically point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to spend a rainy day, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for bird watching?
  • Ensure you protect the owner (and your stuff!) by keeping the rental locked up when you are out, just like you would at home.
  • Just prior to departing, complete a walk-through to confirm you haven't leave anything behind. Re-check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden items. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Go through the rental a final time and look for any damage. We recommend inspecting the property with the host whenever possible. If the manager is not available, ensure that you take photos of the property to record its condition.
  • Did your group have a great stay? Most rental websites make it easy for vacationers to provide reviews. If your property and/or property manager was great, they would love to hear about it. If anything was defective and they failed to address it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make a note as part of your comments.

Victory Beach Vacations

Visitors who are on the hunt for the postcard-perfect vacation rental in the heart of the Carolina Beach or Kure Beach area will find an enticing selection and plenty of friendly customer service when they rent through Victory Beach Vacations. Based in Carolina Beach in the coastal Cape Fear region, Victory Beach Vacations has more than 100 vacation rentals in all shapes and sizes to ensure that every vacationing family can find their dream home away from home on the beach.   When you book your Cape Fear getaway with Victory Beach Vacations, the fun doesn’t end when you leave the beach, it continues with an array of privately-owned properties outfitted with all of the amenities needed for a fabulous beach vacation.   Jenna Lanier, General Manager, explains that her family first opened the rental and property management business in 2002. At the forefront of Victory Beach operations is Lanier’s mother, Caroline Meeks. Meeks is both the Broker in Charge and co-owner with husband, Buck Meeks, who manages the Field Services team with Lanier’s husband, Scott.   For nearly 20 years, the Victory Beach team has worked tirelessly to establish a network of top-of-the-line rental properties for Cape Fear visitors to enjoy. “As far as our properties go,” explains Lanier, “they are all updated, well-furnished and appointed. “We have always performed post-cleaning inspections and since the pandemic, have put freshly laundered duvets over all of the comforters between rentals.”   Lanier emphasizes how important the guests experience is “we strive to give our guests a relaxing, stress free, memorable vacation.” This emphasis on customer service has led to Victory Beach Vacations having a 4.8 Google rating with over 300 reviews by happy owners and guests. In addition to Victory Beach’s superior sanitation practices, the company offers properties for every type of visitor. Choose from luxury oceanfront houses and condos to more reasonbly priced 2nd row properties with oceanviews. Many properties include pools and hot tubs as well, perfect for outdoor entertaining, and many are dog friendly.   Lanier also notes that all properties are within walking or driving distance to Pleasure Island’s main attractions – Carolina Beach and Kure Beach. The former, as described by Lanier, is the more commercialized of the two destinations and features a boardwalk, outdoor dining options and a plethora of weekly activities including fireworks, live music, amusement park pop-ups, and movies under the stars. Kure Beach offers a more residential feel with its fishing pier, intimate restaurants and family favorite, North Carolina Aquarium at Fort Fisher.More water fun awaits, too. “There is a harbor and a canal that feed into the intercoastal. We have several properties on the harbor so guests can bring their boat, kayak, [or jet ski] and travel between islands,” says Lanier.   A stay with Victory Beach Vacations is an annual pilgrimage for most. “A large percentage of guests are previous guests. Some even reserve the same property for the next year as they’re checking out,” Lanier says. “It’s almost like it’s their personal vacation home.”   Even before guests arrive at their vacation destination, the Victory Beach Vacations’ website greets them with a live beach cam and exquisite aerial footage of both Carolina and Kure Beaches.
