Finding the best Carolina Beach rental experience:

Sticking to a budget:

  • Reserve your vacation home as soon as possible. Rental schedules usually open twelve months in advance (or in September just after Summer ends). Many groups book their Summer rentals during holiday get-togethers. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
  • June, July, and August are the most expensive months in the Southport area. To find the best value, try changing your vacation to the Spring or Fall shoulder seasons. May, September, and even October offer pleasant weather, , and greatly reduced traffic. Many vacationers use this method to find larger homes within budget, or to reserve a beach front rental that would otherwise be unavailable during June, July, and August. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Southport vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday near the ocean? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with family and friends at your favorite beach.
  • Some hosts and property managers offer discounts for veterans. It's always a good idea to check with your host or property manager to see if discounts are available for your group before you book.
  • Property managers typically offer their guests an option to obtain vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which normally costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed vacation time as a result of medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for specifics.
  • Find a copy of your local visitors guide when you check-in. If your rental home doesn't have one, you can find them at local grocery stores and visitor centers. In addition to great local stories, travel guides have discounts for nearby tours and attractions.

Planning, selecting, and booking a perfectrental home:

  • First, have your family decide on trip dates and a max budget.
  • Decide how many bedrooms and the configuration your family requires. Spacious and Bright townhome, steps to the beach, pet friendly* has 3 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Southport rentals search.
  • Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts & types is almost always available on booking pages. If you don't see them listed, call the property management company before booking the property. Remember that most properties list the max. guest capacity, which often includes sofa beds in living rooms. You will need to work out which bed configuration is right for your vacation.
  • If your group is traveling with pets, you'll need to find a property that allows animals. Ask for details on breed, weight, and type requirements. Often, property owners charge additional pet fees.
  • If there's an individual Southport attraction you crave, look for rentals that are either near by, or those that cater to your desires.
  • Appropriate accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for the less-mobile. Make certain to inquire about specialized equipment and wheel chair accessibility.

Have a great stay:

  • Get the owner's phone number and arrival/departure procedures for your rental home. We recommend storing the host's information in your smartphone and wallet.
  • Ask questions. You may need instructions for a fireplace, television set or appliance. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief text message prevents quite a few issues.
  • Lock your rental while you're away. Keep your property safe!
  • Upon arrival, record any issues with the property and immediately alert the owner. Record all coorespondence.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like loud vacationers disrupting your peace. Apply the golden rule for best judgement. If they like you, locals might even recommend great beaches and places you would have not otherwise known!
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Residents can often help. Who better to ask where to order the best nachos, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for BBQ?
  • When it's time to leave, complete a walk-through to confirm you did not leave anything behind. Check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden treasure. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Please make sure to walk through the rental a final time and look for damages to contents or the property itself. We suggest walking through with the property manager whenever you can. If the property manager is not available, remember to take video of the property to record its condition.
  • Did your group have a terrific vacation? Many rental managers make it easy for customers to provide feedback. If your rental and/or host was wonderful, they will likely appreciate your kind words. If anything was wrong and they failed to fix it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make a note as part of your feedback.

Victory Beach Vacations

Visitors who are on the hunt for the postcard-perfect vacation rental in the heart of the Carolina Beach or Kure Beach area will find an enticing selection and plenty of friendly customer service when they rent through Victory Beach Vacations. Based in Carolina Beach in the coastal Cape Fear region, Victory Beach Vacations has more than 100 vacation rentals in all shapes and sizes to ensure that every vacationing family can find their dream home away from home on the beach.   When you book your Cape Fear getaway with Victory Beach Vacations, the fun doesn’t end when you leave the beach, it continues with an array of privately-owned properties outfitted with all of the amenities needed for a fabulous beach vacation.   Jenna Lanier, General Manager, explains that her family first opened the rental and property management business in 2002. At the forefront of Victory Beach operations is Lanier’s mother, Caroline Meeks. Meeks is both the Broker in Charge and co-owner with husband, Buck Meeks, who manages the Field Services team with Lanier’s husband, Scott.   For nearly 20 years, the Victory Beach team has worked tirelessly to establish a network of top-of-the-line rental properties for Cape Fear visitors to enjoy. “As far as our properties go,” explains Lanier, “they are all updated, well-furnished and appointed. “We have always performed post-cleaning inspections and since the pandemic, have put freshly laundered duvets over all of the comforters between rentals.”   Lanier emphasizes how important the guests experience is “we strive to give our guests a relaxing, stress free, memorable vacation.” This emphasis on customer service has led to Victory Beach Vacations having a 4.8 Google rating with over 300 reviews by happy owners and guests. In addition to Victory Beach’s superior sanitation practices, the company offers properties for every type of visitor. Choose from luxury oceanfront houses and condos to more reasonbly priced 2nd row properties with oceanviews. Many properties include pools and hot tubs as well, perfect for outdoor entertaining, and many are dog friendly.   Lanier also notes that all properties are within walking or driving distance to Pleasure Island’s main attractions – Carolina Beach and Kure Beach. The former, as described by Lanier, is the more commercialized of the two destinations and features a boardwalk, outdoor dining options and a plethora of weekly activities including fireworks, live music, amusement park pop-ups, and movies under the stars. Kure Beach offers a more residential feel with its fishing pier, intimate restaurants and family favorite, North Carolina Aquarium at Fort Fisher.More water fun awaits, too. “There is a harbor and a canal that feed into the intercoastal. We have several properties on the harbor so guests can bring their boat, kayak, [or jet ski] and travel between islands,” says Lanier.   A stay with Victory Beach Vacations is an annual pilgrimage for most. “A large percentage of guests are previous guests. Some even reserve the same property for the next year as they’re checking out,” Lanier says. “It’s almost like it’s their personal vacation home.”   Even before guests arrive at their vacation destination, the Victory Beach Vacations’ website greets them with a live beach cam and exquisite aerial footage of both Carolina and Kure Beaches.
