Tips to get the very best vacation home experience:

Getting the most from your spending budget:

  • Book your rental as soon as possible. Rental schedules generally open twelve months in advance (or in September just after Summertime ends). Many groups book their Summer rental homes during Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years Eve gatherings. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
  • Summer time is high season in Carolina Beach. To find the best value, change your family's Southport vacation dates to the Spring or Fall months. May, September, and even October offer excellent temperatures, , and reduced traffic. Many vacationers use this method to reserve larger homes, or to book an oceanfront rental that would otherwise be unavailable during June, July, and August. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Southport vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation on the coast? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with friends and family at the beach.
  • Property management companies sometimes offer rate reductions for veterans. Make sure to check with your property manager to see if special discounts are available for your family before you book.
  • Property managers typically offer guests an option to purchase vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which normally costs 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed time as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel stay or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance might be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for more information.
  • Find a copy of your local Southport visitors guide upon arrival. If your rental doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local shops and fuel stations. In addition to great local stories, visitor guides have discounts for nearby accommodations and attractions.

Planning, picking, and booking the right Southport rental home:

  • To start, have your family decide on the best dates and a budget.
  • Decide how many beds and what type of bedroom configuration your family requires. Surf Shack! Carolina Beach Amazing Location! has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our rental home search.
  • Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts & types is generally accessible on booking websites. If you don't see them listed, contact the property owner before you book the vacation property. Remember that most property listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which typically includes pull-out couches. You'll need to work out which bed configuration is suitable for your trip.
  • Some rentals allow pets, and others don't. Acceptable types of pet, size and breeds may be restricted, and added costs may apply. Ask the host about your furry family members before booking.
  • If there's an individual Southport destination you are enamored with, browse homes that are either near by, or those that cater especially to your needs.
  • Proper accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for those with limited mobility. Confirm all necessary amenities are included before booking

More tips for your visit:

  • Add the owner's phone number to your phone. Understand and take a copy of check in/check out procedures.
  • Property managers are there to help! Don't be shy to ask questions during your stay.
  • Lock your rental home while you're out. Protect your property!
  • At Check-in, make note of any damages to the rental property and immediately alert the property manager. Record all correspondence in case a dispute arises.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like disrespectful vacationers bothering your life at home. Employ the golden rule for common sense. Happy residents may even recommend great local food and attractions you would've not otherwise known!
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Local residents can typically help. Who better to ask where to find the best bike paths, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for BBQ?
  • Re-check the vacation property to make sure that you've packed all personal items at check-out. Re-check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden items. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Record a video to document the condition of the property.
  • Did you have a terrific vacation? Most rental management companies make it easy for guests to provide reviews. If your rental and/or property manager was great, they will likely appreciate your kind words. If anything was defective and they failed to address it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make a note as part of your comments.

Victory Beach Vacations

Visitors who are on the hunt for the postcard-perfect vacation rental in the heart of the Carolina Beach or Kure Beach area will find an enticing selection and plenty of friendly customer service when they rent through Victory Beach Vacations. Based in Carolina Beach in the coastal Cape Fear region, Victory Beach Vacations has more than 100 vacation rentals in all shapes and sizes to ensure that every vacationing family can find their dream home away from home on the beach.   When you book your Cape Fear getaway with Victory Beach Vacations, the fun doesn’t end when you leave the beach, it continues with an array of privately-owned properties outfitted with all of the amenities needed for a fabulous beach vacation.   Jenna Lanier, General Manager, explains that her family first opened the rental and property management business in 2002. At the forefront of Victory Beach operations is Lanier’s mother, Caroline Meeks. Meeks is both the Broker in Charge and co-owner with husband, Buck Meeks, who manages the Field Services team with Lanier’s husband, Scott.   For nearly 20 years, the Victory Beach team has worked tirelessly to establish a network of top-of-the-line rental properties for Cape Fear visitors to enjoy. “As far as our properties go,” explains Lanier, “they are all updated, well-furnished and appointed. “We have always performed post-cleaning inspections and since the pandemic, have put freshly laundered duvets over all of the comforters between rentals.”   Lanier emphasizes how important the guests experience is “we strive to give our guests a relaxing, stress free, memorable vacation.” This emphasis on customer service has led to Victory Beach Vacations having a 4.8 Google rating with over 300 reviews by happy owners and guests. In addition to Victory Beach’s superior sanitation practices, the company offers properties for every type of visitor. Choose from luxury oceanfront houses and condos to more reasonbly priced 2nd row properties with oceanviews. Many properties include pools and hot tubs as well, perfect for outdoor entertaining, and many are dog friendly.   Lanier also notes that all properties are within walking or driving distance to Pleasure Island’s main attractions – Carolina Beach and Kure Beach. The former, as described by Lanier, is the more commercialized of the two destinations and features a boardwalk, outdoor dining options and a plethora of weekly activities including fireworks, live music, amusement park pop-ups, and movies under the stars. Kure Beach offers a more residential feel with its fishing pier, intimate restaurants and family favorite, North Carolina Aquarium at Fort Fisher.More water fun awaits, too. “There is a harbor and a canal that feed into the intercoastal. We have several properties on the harbor so guests can bring their boat, kayak, [or jet ski] and travel between islands,” says Lanier.   A stay with Victory Beach Vacations is an annual pilgrimage for most. “A large percentage of guests are previous guests. Some even reserve the same property for the next year as they’re checking out,” Lanier says. “It’s almost like it’s their personal vacation home.”   Even before guests arrive at their vacation destination, the Victory Beach Vacations’ website greets them with a live beach cam and exquisite aerial footage of both Carolina and Kure Beaches.
