Finding the best Southport vacation rental experience:

Sticking to your rental budget:

  • The sooner you can reserve a home, the better your selection will be. The best rental homes are reserved very early. Reserving your rental six to twelve months before your vacation is recommended. Holiday gatherings are excellent times to plan and book your vacation home.
  • To find the best rental home within your budget, we recommend booking in the Fall or Spring. You'll enjoy lower rates, better selection, beautiful weather and the absence of giant crowds at your favorite Southport restaurants and activities. Many vacationers use this method to reserve larger homes, or to reserve an oceanfront vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during June, July, and August.
  • Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property manager whether your family qualifies for a special rate.
  • Property managers usually offer guests an option to obtain vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which normally costs between 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed trip time as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for additional information.
  • Find a copy of your local Southport visitors guide upon arrival. If your rental home doesn't have one, you can find them at local grocery stores and visitor centers. In addition to great local information, travel guide magazines contain deals for nearby accommodations, tours and attractions.

Selecting the best vacation rental:

  • Choose a designated group leader, select your trip dates, and select a maximum budget.
  • Note the number bedrooms and the bed configuration your group requires. The Beacon Summary:
    J
has 4 bedrooms and 4 bathrooms.
  • Precise information about bedrooms and bed types is normally available online. If you don't see them listed, reach out to the property owner before you reserve the property. Remember that most properties list maximum guest capacity, which frequently includes pull out couches in living rooms. You'll need to establish what configuration is right for your family.
  • Some properties allow pets, and some don't. Acceptable types of family pet, weight and breeds may be restricted, and additional charges may apply. Ask the property management company about pets before booking.
  • If there's a particular Southport attraction you love, search for properties that are either near by, or those that cater to your needs.
  • Suitable accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for persons with a disability. .

Considerations for your stay:

  • Take a copy of the property manager's contact number and entry/exit procedures for your rental home.
  • Ask questions. You may want instructions for a fireplace, elevator or coffee maker. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief call can prevent lots of concerns.
  • Lock your vacation home while you are out and about. Keep your property safe!
  • During check-in, note any damages to the property and immediately alert the host. Record all coorespondence.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like disagreeable vacationers bothering your quiet neighborhood. Use the golden rule for common sense. If they like you, locals might even recommend great local food and scenic spots you would've not otherwise known about!
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Neighbors can often help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to find the fresh catch of the day, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for crabbing?
  • Don't leave anything behind! Before you drive away, take a walk through the rental to make sure you've collected everything. Make sure to check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden belongings. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Walk through the rental one final time and keep an eye out for any damage. We suggest inspecting the property with the property manager whenever possible. If the property manager is not available, ensure that you take photos and video of the rental to record its condition.
  • Did your group have a fantastic time? Many rental management companies make it easy for clients to provide comments. If your rental and/or host was great, they will likely appreciate your kind words. If anything was wrong and they failed to correct it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make a note as part of your comments.

Victory Beach Vacations

Visitors who are on the hunt for the postcard-perfect vacation rental in the heart of the Carolina Beach or Kure Beach area will find an enticing selection and plenty of friendly customer service when they rent through Victory Beach Vacations. Based in Carolina Beach in the coastal Cape Fear region, Victory Beach Vacations has more than 100 vacation rentals in all shapes and sizes to ensure that every vacationing family can find their dream home away from home on the beach.   When you book your Cape Fear getaway with Victory Beach Vacations, the fun doesn’t end when you leave the beach, it continues with an array of privately-owned properties outfitted with all of the amenities needed for a fabulous beach vacation.   Jenna Lanier, General Manager, explains that her family first opened the rental and property management business in 2002. At the forefront of Victory Beach operations is Lanier’s mother, Caroline Meeks. Meeks is both the Broker in Charge and co-owner with husband, Buck Meeks, who manages the Field Services team with Lanier’s husband, Scott.   For nearly 20 years, the Victory Beach team has worked tirelessly to establish a network of top-of-the-line rental properties for Cape Fear visitors to enjoy. “As far as our properties go,” explains Lanier, “they are all updated, well-furnished and appointed. “We have always performed post-cleaning inspections and since the pandemic, have put freshly laundered duvets over all of the comforters between rentals.”   Lanier emphasizes how important the guests experience is “we strive to give our guests a relaxing, stress free, memorable vacation.” This emphasis on customer service has led to Victory Beach Vacations having a 4.8 Google rating with over 300 reviews by happy owners and guests. In addition to Victory Beach’s superior sanitation practices, the company offers properties for every type of visitor. Choose from luxury oceanfront houses and condos to more reasonbly priced 2nd row properties with oceanviews. Many properties include pools and hot tubs as well, perfect for outdoor entertaining, and many are dog friendly.   Lanier also notes that all properties are within walking or driving distance to Pleasure Island’s main attractions – Carolina Beach and Kure Beach. The former, as described by Lanier, is the more commercialized of the two destinations and features a boardwalk, outdoor dining options and a plethora of weekly activities including fireworks, live music, amusement park pop-ups, and movies under the stars. Kure Beach offers a more residential feel with its fishing pier, intimate restaurants and family favorite, North Carolina Aquarium at Fort Fisher.More water fun awaits, too. “There is a harbor and a canal that feed into the intercoastal. We have several properties on the harbor so guests can bring their boat, kayak, [or jet ski] and travel between islands,” says Lanier.   A stay with Victory Beach Vacations is an annual pilgrimage for most. “A large percentage of guests are previous guests. Some even reserve the same property for the next year as they’re checking out,” Lanier says. “It’s almost like it’s their personal vacation home.”   Even before guests arrive at their vacation destination, the Victory Beach Vacations’ website greets them with a live beach cam and exquisite aerial footage of both Carolina and Kure Beaches.
