How to book the best Holden Beach vacation home experience:

When to go & When to book:

  • Reserve your vacation rental as early as possible. Rental schedules generally become available a year in advance (or in September just after Summertime ends). Many families reserve their Summer rental homes during Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years Eve get-togethers. Book before these holidays for best selection.
  • June, July, and August are high season in Holden Beach. Reserve your Southport rental home in the Fall or Spring to get the benefit of beautiful weather while saving money and avoiding crowds.
  • Some hosts offer discounts or promotional rates for veterans. Make sure to check with your property manager to see if discounts are available for your group before you book.
  • Management companies and individual rental owners frequently offer their guests an option to add vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which commonly costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed time as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel stay or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance can be a a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for additional information.
  • Often, management companies and vacation rental houses supply Southport area travel guides which often include special deals, either offered directly by local businesses, or through a partnership between the rental management company and the business itself. You can also find Southport visitors guide and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.

Selecting the perfect rental in Holden Beach:

  • Choose a group leader, choose your vacation dates, and choose a spending budget.
  • Determine how many bedrooms and the configuration you need. The Captain's Quarters - Oceanfront 2 Bedroom Home has 2 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our search.
  • Specific information regarding bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is often available on booking pages. If you don't see them listed, contact the property owner before booking the home. Note that most property listings specify the max. guest capacity, which typically includes pull out couches in living rooms.
  • If your family is vacationing with pets, you'll need to find a property that allows animals. Make sure to ask for information on breed, weight, and type restrictions. Note that some property owners charge additional pet fees.
  • Is your family looking for specific amenities? Most rental websites include search filters with amenity lists.
  • Suitable accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for guests with disabilities. .

Additional considerations:

  • Review arrival and departure procedures before traveling. Save the instructions to your phone, and take a printed copy.
  • Hosts are great sources of help! Feel free to ask questions before, during, or after your stay.
  • Protect the rental owner (and your things!) by keeping the rental locked up while you are away, just like you would at home.
  • Record any damages to the rental during check in, and immediately send them to the property manager. We specifically recommend e-mails and text messages, as they usually contain built-in time stamps that are useful if there is a dispute.
  • Be a good neighbor. Often, nearby homes are filled by local residents. Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking rules is the right thing to do.
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Neighbors can often help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to see a beautiful sunrise or sunset, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fishing?
  • Re-check the vacation property to confirm that you've packed everything at check-out. Check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden items. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Inspect the property one final time and look for damage. We recommend inspecting the property with the property manager whenever possible. If the host isn't available, ensure that you take photos and video of the rental to record its condition.
  • Leave a review! Property managers rely on great ratings to inspire more reservations. They'll be grateful for your review. Alternatively, if something went wrong, other vacationers will appreciate that you share your feedback find their best vacation home. Please be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the property manager could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded expeditiously to solve it.
