Tricks and tips to get the best Southport vacation rental experience:

Getting the most from your vacation rental budget:

  • The sooner your group can reserve a home, the better your selection will be. The most desirable rental properties are reserved very early. Booking your rental property six - twelve months before your vacation dates is recommended. Christmas, Thanksgiving and New Years Eve are excellent times to search for and book your vacation rental.
  • Summer months are the most expensive season along the coast of NC. To find the best value, consider shifting your group's vacation to the Spring or Fall months. May, September, and even October offer great weather, fewer crowds, and greatly reduced traffic.
  • Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property manager whether your family qualifies for a price reduction or discount.
  • Booking websites usually offer their guests an option to obtain vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for days missed as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance can be a a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for program terms and fees.
  • Often, rental management companies and vacation rental houses supply Southport area visitor guide magazines which often include money-saving deals, either offered directly by local companies, or by way of a partnership between the property management company and the business itself. You can also find Southport visitors guide magazine and coupon books at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers.

Selecting and booking the perfectrental:

  • Start by having your family decide on date ranges and a max budget.
  • Note the number beds and the bed configuration your family requires. Villas at Seaside 111 B has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our rental home search.
  • Precise information regarding bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is generally available on booking pages. If they are not listed, email the property owner before you book your home. Remember that most property listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which oftentimes includes sofa beds in living rooms. You'll need to determine what is right for your vacation.
  • Do your family pets travel with you? Many vacation homes allow animals, but guidelines and restrictions apply. Allowable pet type, breed, and size are often limited. Remember to ask your host before booking, and study your agreement! Pet fees or costs may be applied to your contract.
  • Does your group require unique amenities? Most websites include search filters for amenities. Amenity filters help you quickly remove less-optimal properties.
  • Proper accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for persons with disabilities. Confirm all required amenities are available and included before booking.

Tips for a smooth stay:

  • Review check in & check out procedures before leaving home. Add a note with the directions to your smartphone, and take a printed copy.
  • Property managers are there to help! Don't be shy to ask any questions during your stay.
  • Keep the property locked while you are out! Don't let crooks spoil your family vacation.
  • Upon arrival, document any damages to the rental property and immediately contact the property manager. Keep records of all correspondence just in case a dispute arises.
  • Respecting quiet hours and parking restrictions can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. You'll enhance your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors can be a terrific resource to find the best local scenic spots.
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Locals can frequently help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to find the fresh catch of the day, have a great night out, or the best spots for BBQ?
  • Don't leave anything behind! Before departing, walk through the rental to confirm you've collected everything. Re-check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden belongings. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Inspect the property one final time and keep an eye out for damages to contents or the property itself. We recommend walking through with the host whenever possible. If the host is not available, remember to take video and pictures of the property to record its condition at check-out.
  • Leave a review! Hosts rely on good ratings to drive new bookings. They'll be much obliged for your review. Alternatively, if something wasn't right, other vacationers will be thankful you shared your review find their best vacation home. Please be fair with your feedback If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the owner had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded expeditiously to solve it.

Victory Beach Vacations

Visitors who are on the hunt for the postcard-perfect vacation rental in the heart of the Carolina Beach or Kure Beach area will find an enticing selection and plenty of friendly customer service when they rent through Victory Beach Vacations. Based in Carolina Beach in the coastal Cape Fear region, Victory Beach Vacations has more than 100 vacation rentals in all shapes and sizes to ensure that every vacationing family can find their dream home away from home on the beach.   When you book your Cape Fear getaway with Victory Beach Vacations, the fun doesn’t end when you leave the beach, it continues with an array of privately-owned properties outfitted with all of the amenities needed for a fabulous beach vacation.   Jenna Lanier, General Manager, explains that her family first opened the rental and property management business in 2002. At the forefront of Victory Beach operations is Lanier’s mother, Caroline Meeks. Meeks is both the Broker in Charge and co-owner with husband, Buck Meeks, who manages the Field Services team with Lanier’s husband, Scott.   For nearly 20 years, the Victory Beach team has worked tirelessly to establish a network of top-of-the-line rental properties for Cape Fear visitors to enjoy. “As far as our properties go,” explains Lanier, “they are all updated, well-furnished and appointed. “We have always performed post-cleaning inspections and since the pandemic, have put freshly laundered duvets over all of the comforters between rentals.”   Lanier emphasizes how important the guests experience is “we strive to give our guests a relaxing, stress free, memorable vacation.” This emphasis on customer service has led to Victory Beach Vacations having a 4.8 Google rating with over 300 reviews by happy owners and guests. In addition to Victory Beach’s superior sanitation practices, the company offers properties for every type of visitor. Choose from luxury oceanfront houses and condos to more reasonbly priced 2nd row properties with oceanviews. Many properties include pools and hot tubs as well, perfect for outdoor entertaining, and many are dog friendly.   Lanier also notes that all properties are within walking or driving distance to Pleasure Island’s main attractions – Carolina Beach and Kure Beach. The former, as described by Lanier, is the more commercialized of the two destinations and features a boardwalk, outdoor dining options and a plethora of weekly activities including fireworks, live music, amusement park pop-ups, and movies under the stars. Kure Beach offers a more residential feel with its fishing pier, intimate restaurants and family favorite, North Carolina Aquarium at Fort Fisher.More water fun awaits, too. “There is a harbor and a canal that feed into the intercoastal. We have several properties on the harbor so guests can bring their boat, kayak, [or jet ski] and travel between islands,” says Lanier.   A stay with Victory Beach Vacations is an annual pilgrimage for most. “A large percentage of guests are previous guests. Some even reserve the same property for the next year as they’re checking out,” Lanier says. “It’s almost like it’s their personal vacation home.”   Even before guests arrive at their vacation destination, the Victory Beach Vacations’ website greets them with a live beach cam and exquisite aerial footage of both Carolina and Kure Beaches.
