"Balvenie" is located in Flora's Bluff on South Beach. We are right across from the beach with direct beach access just steps away! We have a reverse floor plan with the living room, dining and kitchen upstairs. Downstairs we have a king master suite, along with two other bedrooms. The 2nd bedroom is a queen room and the 3rd bedroom / nook is a twin bed with a trundle. Both rooms share a bathroom.

When to book a Southport rental home & When to go:

• Book your rental as early as possible. Rental schedules usually become available 12 months in advance (or in September just after Summer ends). Many groups reserve their Summer vacation rentals during Winter holiday gatherings. Book before these holidays for best selection.
• Summer months are the most expensive season in Bald Head Island. Book your Southport rental in Spring or Fall to get the benefit of gorgeous weather while saving money and avoiding crowded roads, restaurants, and activities. Many vacationers use this method to find larger homes within budget, or to book a beach front rental that would otherwise be unavailable during the high season. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Southport vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday on the coast? Thanksgiving and Christmas are great times to gather with family and friends at your favorite beach.
• Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property management company or host whether your vacationing group qualifies for a reduced rate.
• Property management companies usually offer their guests an option to buy trip insurance. Trip insurance, which normally costs 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed trip time as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for more information.
• Find a copy of your local Southport visitors guide upon arrival. If your rental property doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers. In addition to great local stories, visitors guides have deals for nearby attractions, tours, restaurants, and shops.

• Specific information regarding bedrooms and bed counts & types is commonly available online. If you don't see them listed, call the property manager before booking your home. Remember that most listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which typically includes pull out couches in living rooms. You will need to work out what bed configuration is optimal for your trip.
• Some rentals allow pets, and others do not. Acceptable types of pet, size and breeds may be restricted, and additional costs may apply. Ask the property manager about pet restrictions before booking.
• Is your family looking for particular amenities? Most rental websites include search filters for amenities. Use these filters to your advantage to find the perfect rental home.
• Proper accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for persons with disabilities. Confirm all necessary amenities are available and included before reserving a rental.

Know before you go:

• Get the property manager's phone number and arrival/departure procedures for your . Put the host's contact information in your smartphone and wallet.
• Ask questions. You may want instructions for a hot tub, A/V setup or appliance. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief text message prevents lots of difficulties.
• Protect the owner (and your things!) by keeping the rental locked up while you are gone, just like you would at home.
• Document any issues with the rental during check in, and immediately send them to the owner. We specifically recommend e-mails and text messages, as they usually contain built-in time stamps that are very helpful if a dispute arises.
• Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like disrespectful vacationers disrupting your peace and quiet. Use the golden rule for best judgement. If they like you, locals might even recommend great restaurants and scenic spots you would've never otherwise known about!
• Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Residents can often help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to spend a rainy day, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fine dining?
• Don't leave anything behind! Before you drive away, take a walk through the rental to make sure you've collected all personal items. Check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden items. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
• Go through the property one final time and scan for any damage. We advise inspecting the property with the host whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the host is not available, remember to take photos of the property to record its condition at check-out.
• After your trip, leave feedback! Property owners rely on excellent ratings to drive more reservations. They'll be thankful for your feedback. Alternatively, if something wasn't right, other vacationers will appreciate that you share your experience find their best vacation rental. Please be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the owner had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded reasonably to solve it.
