Located near the beach, this vacation home is in Cape Fear Station, a neighborhood in Bald Head Island. Bald Head Island Lighthouse and Old Brunswick County Jail Museum are local landmarks, and some of the area's attractions include North Carolina Maritime Museum at Southport and North Carolina Aquarium at Fort Fisher. Sticking to a rental budget:

• Summer time is high season in the Southport area. To find the most suitable rental home within budget, we suggest reserving in Fall or Spring. You'll benefit from lower rental rates, better selection, gorgeous weather and the absence of giant crowds at Southport restaurants, tours, and activities. Many vacationers use this strategy to reserve larger homes, or to book an oceanfront vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable during the high season.
• Reserve your vacation home as soon as possible. Rental schedules often open 12 months in advance (or in September just after the Summer season ends). Many families book their Summer vacation rentals during Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years Eve gatherings. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
• Hosts and Property managers sometimes offer discounts or promotional rates for veterans. Remember to ask your property manager if special discounts are available for your family before you book.
• Property management companies usually offer customers an option to purchase vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which usually will cost between 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed trip time as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance can be a a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for program terms and fees.
• Many management companies supply Southport area visitor guides which often include special deals, either offered directly by local companies, or by way of a relationship with the rental management company and the business itself. • Lock your rental home while you are away. Protect the owner's property and your stuff!
• On check-out day, complete a walk-through to make sure you haven't leave anything behind. Check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden treasure. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
• Walk through the property a final time and scan for damage. We suggest inspecting the property with the property manager whenever possible. If the host isn't available, take photos of the rental to record its condition at check-out.
• After your trip, leave a review! Property owners rely on good ratings to compel new bookings. They'll be thankful for your review.
