Our top Rental property booking tips:

When to book & When to go:

  • Summer is the most expensive season in Sunset Beach. To get the best value, shift your vacation dates to the Spring or Fall months. May, September, and even October offer great temperatures, fewer crowds, and reduced traffic. Many vacationers use this method to find larger homes within budget, or to book a beach front vacation rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during the Summer months.
  • Reserve your vacation home as early as possible. Rental schedules often open a year in advance (or in September just after the Summer season ends). Many groups reserve their Summer rental homes during Thanksgiving and Christmas gatherings. Book before these holidays for best selection.
  • Some hosts and property managers offer discounts for veterans. Remember to ask your property manager if special offers are available for your group.
  • Booking websites often offer customers an option to buy vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which costs 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed vacation time as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel stay or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance might be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for more information.
  • Many rental management companies and vacation rental houses supply Southport area visitors guides which will include special deals, either offered directly by local companies, or through a relationship with the management company and the business itself. You can also find Southport visitors guide and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.

Choosing the best rental home in Sunset Beach:

  • Choose dates and budget.
  • Determine how many bedrooms and the configuration your group requires. 014 Going to Carolina by Sunset Vacations has 4 bedrooms and 5 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our rentals search.
  • Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts & types is usually available on booking pages. If you don't see them listed, reach out to the property management company before you reserve the home. Note that most property listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which usually includes sofa beds in living rooms. You will need to determine what configuration is suitable for your vacation group.
  • Are you looking for specific amenities? Most websites include amenity lists and search filters. Use these filters to your advantage to find the perfect rental home.
  • Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for those with limited mobility. .
  • If your group is vacationing with pets, you will need a property that allows animals. Make sure to ask for specifics on breed, weight, and type restrictions. Note that some property managers charge additional pet fees.

Tips for your stay:

  • Be sure you get the property manager's phone number and check in/check out procedures for your . Put the host's information in your smartphone and wallet.
  • To make sure that damages are not attributed to your stay, inspect the rental for any problem areas upon your arrival. Speak to the rental manager immediately to document any issues. If there is a dispute, having the recorded problems and contact attempts will be useful.
  • Ask questions. You may need instructions for a garage door opener, television set or WIFI setup. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief call can prevent quite a few problems.
  • Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking policies can make a stay more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You'll enhance your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors are a fantastic resource to find the best local spots.
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Local residents can typically point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to take kids for a treat, have a great night out, or the best spots for fishing?
  • Lock your vacation home while you are out and about. Protect the owner's property and your things!
  • Don't leave anything behind! Before you drive away, walk through the property to reconfirm you've collected all of your things. Check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden items. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Go through the property one final time and keep an eye out for damages to contents or the property itself. We suggest walking through with the host whenever you can. If the property manager isn't available, take video of the property to record its condition.
  • Did you have a fantastic vacation? Many rental websites make it easy for guests to provide reviews. If your rental property and/or host was terrific, they will likely appreciate your kind words. If anything was defective and they failed to fix it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make it a point as part of your review.

Victory Beach Vacations

Visitors who are on the hunt for the postcard-perfect vacation rental in the heart of the Carolina Beach or Kure Beach area will find an enticing selection and plenty of friendly customer service when they rent through Victory Beach Vacations. Based in Carolina Beach in the coastal Cape Fear region, Victory Beach Vacations has more than 100 vacation rentals in all shapes and sizes to ensure that every vacationing family can find their dream home away from home on the beach.   When you book your Cape Fear getaway with Victory Beach Vacations, the fun doesn’t end when you leave the beach, it continues with an array of privately-owned properties outfitted with all of the amenities needed for a fabulous beach vacation.   Jenna Lanier, General Manager, explains that her family first opened the rental and property management business in 2002. At the forefront of Victory Beach operations is Lanier’s mother, Caroline Meeks. Meeks is both the Broker in Charge and co-owner with husband, Buck Meeks, who manages the Field Services team with Lanier’s husband, Scott.   For nearly 20 years, the Victory Beach team has worked tirelessly to establish a network of top-of-the-line rental properties for Cape Fear visitors to enjoy. “As far as our properties go,” explains Lanier, “they are all updated, well-furnished and appointed. “We have always performed post-cleaning inspections and since the pandemic, have put freshly laundered duvets over all of the comforters between rentals.”   Lanier emphasizes how important the guests experience is “we strive to give our guests a relaxing, stress free, memorable vacation.” This emphasis on customer service has led to Victory Beach Vacations having a 4.8 Google rating with over 300 reviews by happy owners and guests. In addition to Victory Beach’s superior sanitation practices, the company offers properties for every type of visitor. Choose from luxury oceanfront houses and condos to more reasonbly priced 2nd row properties with oceanviews. Many properties include pools and hot tubs as well, perfect for outdoor entertaining, and many are dog friendly.   Lanier also notes that all properties are within walking or driving distance to Pleasure Island’s main attractions – Carolina Beach and Kure Beach. The former, as described by Lanier, is the more commercialized of the two destinations and features a boardwalk, outdoor dining options and a plethora of weekly activities including fireworks, live music, amusement park pop-ups, and movies under the stars. Kure Beach offers a more residential feel with its fishing pier, intimate restaurants and family favorite, North Carolina Aquarium at Fort Fisher.More water fun awaits, too. “There is a harbor and a canal that feed into the intercoastal. We have several properties on the harbor so guests can bring their boat, kayak, [or jet ski] and travel between islands,” says Lanier.   A stay with Victory Beach Vacations is an annual pilgrimage for most. “A large percentage of guests are previous guests. Some even reserve the same property for the next year as they’re checking out,” Lanier says. “It’s almost like it’s their personal vacation home.”   Even before guests arrive at their vacation destination, the Victory Beach Vacations’ website greets them with a live beach cam and exquisite aerial footage of both Carolina and Kure Beaches.
