Tips to get the best rental experience:

How to get the best rental home value:

  • In the Southport area, The sooner you can book a vacation home, the better your selection will be. The most desirable rental homes are reserved early. Reserving your rental property six to twelve months before your vacation is recommended. Christmas, Thanksgiving and New Years Eve are excellent times to search for and book your vacation home.
  • June, July, and August are the most expensive months in coastal NC. Book your Southport vacation home in the Fall or Spring shoulder seasons to enjoy warm weather while saving money and avoiding crowds. Many vacationers use this strategy to find larger homes within budget, or to book an oceanfront vacation rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during the Summer months.
  • Veterans and Active Duty Military members may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property owner whether your group qualifies for a price reduction or discount.
  • Property managers often offer guests an option to add trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which normally costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any days missed as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance can be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for specifics.
  • Find a copy of your local Southport visitors guide upon checking in. If your rental doesn't have one, you can find them at local shops and fuel stations. In addition to great articles, visitors guides have coupons for nearby tours and attractions.

Make a plan and pick your Southport vacation home:

  • Select a group leader, select your dates, and choose a maximum budget.
  • Determine how many bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration you need. 1st-floor waterfront condo in Sunset Village at Sandpiper Bay Golf Club has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
  • Specific information about bedrooms and bed counts & types is commonly available online. If not, call the property owner before reserving the vacation property. Remember that most properties list maximum guest capacity, which usually includes sofa beds and bunks. You will need to establish what configuration is right for your vacation family.
  • Traveling with pets? Many vacation homes allow animals, but guidelines and restrictions apply. Allowable pet type, breed, and size are often limited. Ask your host before booking, and study your rental agreement! Additional pet fees or applied to your agreement.
  • Does your group require specific amenities? Most rental search websites include search filters for amenities. Filtering by amenity will allow you to quickly find the best rental.
  • Proper accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for persons with disabilities. .

Advice for a fantastic stay:

  • Take a copy of the owner's phone number and arrival/departure procedures for your rental. We recommend storing the host's contact information in your smartphone.
  • Hosts are there to help! Feel free to ask questions before, during, or after your stay.
  • Keep your rental home locked while you're out! Don't let crooks ruin your vacation.
  • Note any damages to the property upon arrival, and immediately send them to the owner. We specifically recommend texts and e-mails, as they usually contain built-in time stamps that can be valuable if a dispute is filed.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like disagreeable visitors bothering your life at home. Use the golden rule for common sense. If they like you, locals might even recommend great local food and scenic spots you would've not otherwise known!
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Local residents can often help. Who better to ask where to go for the best drinks, have a great night out, or the best spots for BBQ?
  • Double-check the vacation property to make sure that you've packed all of your family's items on check-out day. Re-check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden treasure. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
  • Leave feedback! Property managers rely on excellent feedback to propel new reservations. They'll be grateful for your feedback. Alternatively, if something wasn't right, other families will be thankful you shared your feedback find their best vacation home. Be fair with your review. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the manager could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded quickly to fix it.

Victory Beach Vacations

Visitors who are on the hunt for the postcard-perfect vacation rental in the heart of the Carolina Beach or Kure Beach area will find an enticing selection and plenty of friendly customer service when they rent through Victory Beach Vacations. Based in Carolina Beach in the coastal Cape Fear region, Victory Beach Vacations has more than 100 vacation rentals in all shapes and sizes to ensure that every vacationing family can find their dream home away from home on the beach.   When you book your Cape Fear getaway with Victory Beach Vacations, the fun doesn’t end when you leave the beach, it continues with an array of privately-owned properties outfitted with all of the amenities needed for a fabulous beach vacation.   Jenna Lanier, General Manager, explains that her family first opened the rental and property management business in 2002. At the forefront of Victory Beach operations is Lanier’s mother, Caroline Meeks. Meeks is both the Broker in Charge and co-owner with husband, Buck Meeks, who manages the Field Services team with Lanier’s husband, Scott.   For nearly 20 years, the Victory Beach team has worked tirelessly to establish a network of top-of-the-line rental properties for Cape Fear visitors to enjoy. “As far as our properties go,” explains Lanier, “they are all updated, well-furnished and appointed. “We have always performed post-cleaning inspections and since the pandemic, have put freshly laundered duvets over all of the comforters between rentals.”   Lanier emphasizes how important the guests experience is “we strive to give our guests a relaxing, stress free, memorable vacation.” This emphasis on customer service has led to Victory Beach Vacations having a 4.8 Google rating with over 300 reviews by happy owners and guests. In addition to Victory Beach’s superior sanitation practices, the company offers properties for every type of visitor. Choose from luxury oceanfront houses and condos to more reasonbly priced 2nd row properties with oceanviews. Many properties include pools and hot tubs as well, perfect for outdoor entertaining, and many are dog friendly.   Lanier also notes that all properties are within walking or driving distance to Pleasure Island’s main attractions – Carolina Beach and Kure Beach. The former, as described by Lanier, is the more commercialized of the two destinations and features a boardwalk, outdoor dining options and a plethora of weekly activities including fireworks, live music, amusement park pop-ups, and movies under the stars. Kure Beach offers a more residential feel with its fishing pier, intimate restaurants and family favorite, North Carolina Aquarium at Fort Fisher.More water fun awaits, too. “There is a harbor and a canal that feed into the intercoastal. We have several properties on the harbor so guests can bring their boat, kayak, [or jet ski] and travel between islands,” says Lanier.   A stay with Victory Beach Vacations is an annual pilgrimage for most. “A large percentage of guests are previous guests. Some even reserve the same property for the next year as they’re checking out,” Lanier says. “It’s almost like it’s their personal vacation home.”   Even before guests arrive at their vacation destination, the Victory Beach Vacations’ website greets them with a live beach cam and exquisite aerial footage of both Carolina and Kure Beaches.
