Located near the beach, this cottage is in Long Beach, a neighborhood in Oak Island. Smith Island Museum of History and Franklin Square Gallery are cultural highlights, and some of the area's landmarks include Bald Head Island Lighthouse and Old Brunswick County Jail Museum. Bald Head Island Information Center and North Carolina Maritime Museum at Southport are also worth visiting. Sticking to your spending plan:

  • The sooner you can book, the easier your search will be. The most desirable rental properties are booked very early. Booking your vacation home 6-12 months before your vacation dates is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to plan and book your rental home.

  • Property management companies frequently offer guests an option to add vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which will generally cost 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed days as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance can be a a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for more information.

  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Neighbors can frequently help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to spend a rainy day, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for shopping?
  • Re-check every room of the property to confirm that you've packed all of your family's items at departure. Check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden items. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Go through the rental a final time and scan for any damage. We advise walking through with the property manager whenever you can. If the property manager isn't available, remember to take photographs of the property to record its condition at check-out.
