Dolphin Cove is located on the West End of Oak Island, which is an 6 min. golf cart ride or 2 min. car ride to the beach. It also has very painless access off the Island, as it is very close to the middle bridge. All types of shopping and stores are just mins. away. There are a wide variety of activities within a few mins. also, some of which include pickleball/tennis courts, a splash pad, miniature golf, movie theaters, and eateries. Also, Oak Island is centrally located near many other beach towns. Just across the bridge is the magnificent town of Southport, which is featured in multiple movies and is also where you can take a ferry to Carolina Beach and a different one to Bald Head Island.

We bought this home for our family to use and make great memories, and we think it is great for you and your family as well to do the same. Come relax at Dolphin Cove and savor all that Oak Island has to offer.

Vacation rental home tips:

Getting the best rental home value:

  • The earlier your group can book a rental home, the easier your search will be. The best vacation rentals are reserved early. Reserving your vacation rental six - twelve months before your vacation dates is recommended. Christmas, Thanksgiving and New Years Eve are excellent times to plan and book your rental home.
  • Booking a rental in Fall or Spring is one of our best tips for saving money on your rental home. Rental rates are lower, and you'll find a better selection of acceptable homes. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Southport vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation near the ocean? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with family and friends at your favorite beach.
  • Hosts sometimes offer rate reductions for veterans and active duty military. Remember to ask your host or property manager if special discounts are available for your family.
  • Property managers usually offer customers an option to purchase trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which will generally cost between 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed time as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel stay or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for program terms and fees.
  • Many rental management companies and vacation rental houses supply Southport area visitor guide magazines which include money-saving offers, either offered independently by local businesses, or through a relationship between the rental management company and the business itself. You can also find Southport area magazine and coupon books at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers.

Filter your rental search:

  • To start, have your family commit to trip dates and a spending budget.
  • Note the number bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration your group requires. 3 bed\/2 bath Oak Island Cottage, sleeps 6-7 people comfortably. has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
  • Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is generally available on booking websites. Otherwise, contact the property owner before booking the home. Remember that most properties list maximum guest capacity, which oftentimes includes sofa beds in living rooms.
  • Remember to include your furry companions! Although a number of vacation homes allow pets or animals, guidelines and costs vary per property. Allowable pet type, breed, and size are often limited. Ask your property manager before booking, and study your rental agreement! Pet fees or charges applied to your agreement.
  • Are you visiting for a single attraction or event? Try a map search to locate nearby rentals.
  • Proper accessibility can make or break a vacation for persons with a disability. Confirm all necessary amenities are available before reserving a rental

More tips for your stay:

  • Add the owner's phone number to your smartphone. Understand and take a copy of arrival/departure procedures.
  • Ask questions. You may want instructions for a hot tub, stereo or coffee maker. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief telephone call prevents quite a few concerns.
  • Keep the property locked while you're away! Don't let burglars spoil your trip.
  • To make sure damages are not linked to your visit, note any problem areas upon check in. Call the property manager right away to relay any pre-existing damages. If there is a dispute about who is responsible, having a record of issues and contact attempts will be very helpful.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like unpleasant visitors bothering your peaceful home life. Employ the golden rule for common sense. Happy residents may even recommend great restaurants and places you would've not otherwise known!
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Neighbors can frequently help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to get the best breakfast in town, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fishing?
  • Double-check the rental property to make sure that you've packed all personal items at departure. Check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden treasure. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Record a video to document the condition of the property.
  • After your trip, leave feedback! Property managers rely on excellent feedback to drive more bookings. They'll be much obliged for your review. Alternatively, if something went awry, other families will will be grateful for your experience find their best rental home. Be fair with your review. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the host had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded quickly to fix it.

Victory Beach Vacations

Visitors who are on the hunt for the postcard-perfect vacation rental in the heart of the Carolina Beach or Kure Beach area will find an enticing selection and plenty of friendly customer service when they rent through Victory Beach Vacations. Based in Carolina Beach in the coastal Cape Fear region, Victory Beach Vacations has more than 100 vacation rentals in all shapes and sizes to ensure that every vacationing family can find their dream home away from home on the beach.   When you book your Cape Fear getaway with Victory Beach Vacations, the fun doesn’t end when you leave the beach, it continues with an array of privately-owned properties outfitted with all of the amenities needed for a fabulous beach vacation.   Jenna Lanier, General Manager, explains that her family first opened the rental and property management business in 2002. At the forefront of Victory Beach operations is Lanier’s mother, Caroline Meeks. Meeks is both the Broker in Charge and co-owner with husband, Buck Meeks, who manages the Field Services team with Lanier’s husband, Scott.   For nearly 20 years, the Victory Beach team has worked tirelessly to establish a network of top-of-the-line rental properties for Cape Fear visitors to enjoy. “As far as our properties go,” explains Lanier, “they are all updated, well-furnished and appointed. “We have always performed post-cleaning inspections and since the pandemic, have put freshly laundered duvets over all of the comforters between rentals.”   Lanier emphasizes how important the guests experience is “we strive to give our guests a relaxing, stress free, memorable vacation.” This emphasis on customer service has led to Victory Beach Vacations having a 4.8 Google rating with over 300 reviews by happy owners and guests. In addition to Victory Beach’s superior sanitation practices, the company offers properties for every type of visitor. Choose from luxury oceanfront houses and condos to more reasonbly priced 2nd row properties with oceanviews. Many properties include pools and hot tubs as well, perfect for outdoor entertaining, and many are dog friendly.   Lanier also notes that all properties are within walking or driving distance to Pleasure Island’s main attractions – Carolina Beach and Kure Beach. The former, as described by Lanier, is the more commercialized of the two destinations and features a boardwalk, outdoor dining options and a plethora of weekly activities including fireworks, live music, amusement park pop-ups, and movies under the stars. Kure Beach offers a more residential feel with its fishing pier, intimate restaurants and family favorite, North Carolina Aquarium at Fort Fisher.More water fun awaits, too. “There is a harbor and a canal that feed into the intercoastal. We have several properties on the harbor so guests can bring their boat, kayak, [or jet ski] and travel between islands,” says Lanier.   A stay with Victory Beach Vacations is an annual pilgrimage for most. “A large percentage of guests are previous guests. Some even reserve the same property for the next year as they’re checking out,” Lanier says. “It’s almost like it’s their personal vacation home.”   Even before guests arrive at their vacation destination, the Victory Beach Vacations’ website greets them with a live beach cam and exquisite aerial footage of both Carolina and Kure Beaches.
