Tips to get the perfect Southport vacation property experience:
Get the most from your rental home budget:
- The sooner your group can book a rental home, the better your selection will be. The best rental homes are booked very early. Booking your vacation home six - twelve months before your vacation is recommended. Holiday gatherings are excellent times to search for and book your rental property.
- June, July, and August are the most expensive months in coastal NC. To find the best vacation home within your budget, we highly recommend reserving in Fall or Spring months. You'll enjoy lower rates, greater selection, beautiful weather and the absence of giant crowds at the beach and popular Southport attractions. Many vacationers use this method to find larger homes within budget, or to reserve a beach front rental that would otherwise be unavailable during the Summer months.
- Hosts and Property managers sometimes offer discounts for active duty military and veterans. It's always a good idea to check with your host or property manager to see if special offers are available for your family before you book.
- Booking websites often offer customers an option to buy trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which costs 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any days missed as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for program terms and fees.
- Look for your local Southport visitors guide magazine when you arrive at the rental property. If your rental property doesn't have one, you can find them at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers. In addition to great articles, visitor guide magazines contain discounts for local tours, shops, and attractions.
Planning, selecting, and booking the bestvacation home:
- Start by having your group select the best dates and a maximum budget.
- Determine how many beds and the bed configuration your family requires. 7BR\/6.5BA Home - Event Home, Ocean Views, Pool, Elevator, Sleeps 22 has 8 bedrooms and 7 bathrooms.
- Specific information regarding bedrooms and bed counts & types is generally available on booking websites. If they are not listed, email or call the property management company before booking the property. Remember that most properties list the max. guest capacity, which frequently includes sofa beds in living rooms.
- Traveling with pets? Many vacation homes allow animals, but guidelines and restrictions apply. Allowable pet type, breed, and size are often limited. Remember to ask your host before booking, and study your agreement thoroughly! Additional fees or costs could be applied to your invoice.
- If there's a particular Southport destination you are enamored with, search for rentals that are either nearby, or those that cater to your requirements.
- Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for the less-mobile. .
Advice for a fantastic stay:
- Store the manager's information in your smartphone and wallet.
- Ask questions. You may want instructions for a fireplace, stereo or appliance. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief telephone call prevents lots of difficulties.
- Ensure you protect the owner (and your stuff!) by keeping the rental locked up while you are out, just like you would back home.
- During check-in, document any damages to the rental property and immediately alert the owner. Record all correspondence just in case a dispute arises.
- Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking restrictions can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You will enhance your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors are often an excellent resource to find the best local restaurants, beaches, and hangouts.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Residents can usually help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to book the best tours, have a great night out, or the best spots for shopping?
- Just before checking out, complete a final walk-through to confirm you have not forget anything. Check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden belongings. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Please make sure to walk through the property a final time and keep an eye out for any damage. We recommend inspecting the property with the property manager whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the manager is not available, take photos and video of the property to record its condition.
- Leave a review! Property managers rely on excellent reviews to propel new bookings. They'll be grateful for your review. Alternatively, if something wasn't as described, other vacationing families will appreciate that you share your review find their best vacation rental. Be fair with your review. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the manager had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded reasonably to solve it.
