How to book the best Southport rental home experience:
Getting the most from your spending budget:
- Summertime is high season in the Southport area. Reserve your Southport vacation home in the Fall or Spring to enjoy warm weather while saving money and avoiding crowded roads, restaurants, and activities. Many vacationers use this strategy to find larger homes within budget, or to reserve a beach front rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during the high season. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Southport vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday near the ocean? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with family and friends at the beach.
- Reserve your vacation home as early as possible. Rental schedules often open twelve months in advance (or in September just after Summer ends). Many families reserve their Summer vacations during holiday get-togethers. Book before these holidays for best selection.
- Property management companies sometimes offer promotional rates for veterans and active duty military. Check with your host or property manager to see if rate reductions are available for your group before you book.
- Property managers frequently offer renters an option to obtain trip insurance. Trip insurance, which usually costs between 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed vacation time as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance might be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for more information.
- Look for your local visitors guide when you check-in. If your rental home doesn't have one, you can find them at local shops and fuel stations. In addition to great local stories, visitor guides have coupons for local accommodations, tours and attractions.
Use filters to narrow your rental search:
- Start by selecting your trip dates and a maximum budget.
- Determine how many bedrooms and the configuration your family needs. Beach Sol Oceanfront in Coastal Carolina has 1 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms.
- Precise information regarding bedrooms and bed counts & types is commonly available on booking websites. If they are not listed, email or call the property management company before you book the property. Note that most properties list the maximum guest capacity, which frequently includes sofa beds in living rooms.
- If there's a specific Southport attraction you crave, search for properties that are either close by, or those that cater to your desires.
- Appropriate accessibility can make or break a vacation for persons with disabilities. Confirm all necessary amenities are available before reserving a rental.
- If your group is traveling with pets, search for a pet-friendly vacation rental. Ask for details on breed, size, and type restrictions. Note that some hosts charge additional pet fees.
Advice for your stay:
- Put the host's contact information in your smartphone and wallet.
- At Check-in, note any damages to the property and immediately contact the owner. Record all correspondence in case a dispute arises.
- Ask questions. You may want instructions for a hot tub, elevator or thermostat. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief text message can prevent a lot of difficulties.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like unpleasant vacationers bothering your peace and quiet. Apply the golden rule for best judgement. If they like you, locals might even recommend great beaches and places you would have not otherwise known!
- Don't forget to... Ask a local! Residents can usually help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to order the best nachos, have a great night out, or the best spots for shopping?
- Lock your vacation home while you're away. Protect your property!
- Don't leave anything behind! Before you drive away, take a walk through the property to make sure you've collected all personal belongings. Remember to check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden treasure. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
- After your trip, leave a review! Property owners rely on excellent feedback to drive new bookings. They'll be grateful for your review. Alternatively, if something wasn't right, other families will appreciate that you share your feedback find their best vacation rental. Please be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the manager had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded expeditiously to remedy it.
