Our top Southport rental home booking tips and tricks:

When to visit & When to reserve a Southport rental home:

  • To find the best rental home within budget, we highly recommend reserving in the Spring or Fall. You'll benefit from lower rates, greater selection, warm weather and the absence of large crowds at your favorite restaurants and activities.
  • Reserve your rental as soon as possible. Rental schedules generally open a year in advance (or in September just after the Summer season ends). Many families reserve their Summer rentals during Winter holiday get-togethers. Book before these holidays for best selection.
  • Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property manager if your family qualifies for a price reduction.
  • Booking websites typically offer their guests an option to add trip insurance. Trip insurance, which costs 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed time as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance might be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for additional information.
  • Many management companies supply Southport area visitors guide magazines which will include special deals, either offered independently by local companies, or through a relationship between the property management company and the business itself. You can also find Southport visitors guide and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.

Planning and picking a perfect Southport vacation home:

  • Select a group lead, choose your vacation dates, and select a budget.
  • Decide how many bedrooms and the configuration your group needs. Luxury Condo on the River-Million Dollar View! has 1 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms.
  • Specific information about bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is regularly available on booking pages. Otherwise, reach out to the host before you book the vacation property. Remember that most listings specify the max. guest capacity, which frequently includes sofa beds in living rooms.
  • Looking for special amenities? Most rental websites include search filters with amenity lists. Filtering by amenity will allow you to quickly find the best rental.
  • Appropriate accessibility can make or break a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. .
  • Some rental properties allow pets, but others do not. Acceptable types of dog or cat, weight and breeds may be restricted, and added costs may apply. Ask your host about pets before booking.

Know before you go:

  • Review arrival and departure procedures before leaving home. Add a note with the instructions to your smartphone, and take a printed copy.
  • At Check-in, document any issues with the rental property and immediately contact the property manager. Keep records of all correspondence in case a dispute arises.
  • Hosts are great sources of help! Feel free to ask any questions during your stay.
  • Be a good neighbor. Often times, surrounding homes are occupied by permanent residents. Respecting late-night noise limits and parking rules reduces conflict and allows everyone to enjoy their day.
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Local residents can typically help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to spend a rainy day, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fishing?
  • Ensure you protect the rental owner (and your stuff!) by locking the rental when you are gone, just like you would at home.
  • Just before checking out, complete a final walk-through to confirm you have not forget any personal items. Make sure to check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden belongings. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Go through the property one final time and scan for damage. We advise inspecting the property with the property manager whenever you can. If the property manager is not available, ensure that you take video of the rental to record its condition at check-out.
  • After your trip, leave feedback! Property managers rely on good feedback to inspire future reservations. They'll be thankful for your review. Alternatively, if something went awry, other vacationers will will be grateful for your review find their best vacation home. Be fair with your review. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the owner had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded quickly to solve it.

Victory Beach Vacations

Visitors who are on the hunt for the postcard-perfect vacation rental in the heart of the Carolina Beach or Kure Beach area will find an enticing selection and plenty of friendly customer service when they rent through Victory Beach Vacations. Based in Carolina Beach in the coastal Cape Fear region, Victory Beach Vacations has more than 100 vacation rentals in all shapes and sizes to ensure that every vacationing family can find their dream home away from home on the beach.   When you book your Cape Fear getaway with Victory Beach Vacations, the fun doesn’t end when you leave the beach, it continues with an array of privately-owned properties outfitted with all of the amenities needed for a fabulous beach vacation.   Jenna Lanier, General Manager, explains that her family first opened the rental and property management business in 2002. At the forefront of Victory Beach operations is Lanier’s mother, Caroline Meeks. Meeks is both the Broker in Charge and co-owner with husband, Buck Meeks, who manages the Field Services team with Lanier’s husband, Scott.   For nearly 20 years, the Victory Beach team has worked tirelessly to establish a network of top-of-the-line rental properties for Cape Fear visitors to enjoy. “As far as our properties go,” explains Lanier, “they are all updated, well-furnished and appointed. “We have always performed post-cleaning inspections and since the pandemic, have put freshly laundered duvets over all of the comforters between rentals.”   Lanier emphasizes how important the guests experience is “we strive to give our guests a relaxing, stress free, memorable vacation.” This emphasis on customer service has led to Victory Beach Vacations having a 4.8 Google rating with over 300 reviews by happy owners and guests. In addition to Victory Beach’s superior sanitation practices, the company offers properties for every type of visitor. Choose from luxury oceanfront houses and condos to more reasonbly priced 2nd row properties with oceanviews. Many properties include pools and hot tubs as well, perfect for outdoor entertaining, and many are dog friendly.   Lanier also notes that all properties are within walking or driving distance to Pleasure Island’s main attractions – Carolina Beach and Kure Beach. The former, as described by Lanier, is the more commercialized of the two destinations and features a boardwalk, outdoor dining options and a plethora of weekly activities including fireworks, live music, amusement park pop-ups, and movies under the stars. Kure Beach offers a more residential feel with its fishing pier, intimate restaurants and family favorite, North Carolina Aquarium at Fort Fisher.More water fun awaits, too. “There is a harbor and a canal that feed into the intercoastal. We have several properties on the harbor so guests can bring their boat, kayak, [or jet ski] and travel between islands,” says Lanier.   A stay with Victory Beach Vacations is an annual pilgrimage for most. “A large percentage of guests are previous guests. Some even reserve the same property for the next year as they’re checking out,” Lanier says. “It’s almost like it’s their personal vacation home.”   Even before guests arrive at their vacation destination, the Victory Beach Vacations’ website greets them with a live beach cam and exquisite aerial footage of both Carolina and Kure Beaches.
