Strategies to get the best Holden Beach rental home experience:

Sticking to your spending budget:

  • Summertime is the most expensive season in coastal NC. To get the largest rental home for your budget, we suggest reserving in the Fall or Spring shoulder seasons. You'll enjoy lower rental rates, better selection, beautiful weather and the absence of large crowds at popular Southport attractions and restaurants. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Southport vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday near the ocean? Thanksgiving and Christmas are great times to gather with friends and family at your favorite beach.
  • The sooner your group can book a rental home, the better your selection will be. The most desirable vacation homes are reserved very early. Booking your rental property up to twelve months before your vacation dates is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to search for and reserve your rental property.
  • Some property managers offer discounts for active duty military and veterans. Remember to ask your property manager if special discounts are available for your family.
  • Booking websites typically offer their guests an option to buy vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which will generally cost between 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed vacation time as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance might be a a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for additional information.
  • Many rental management companies and vacation rental houses supply Southport area travel guides which will include coupons, either offered independently by local businesses, or by way of a relationship between the management company and the business itself. You can also find Southport visitors guide magazine and coupon books at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers.

How to choose the best rental in the Southport area:

  • To start, have your family agree to the best dates and a maximum budget.
  • Decide how many bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration you need. Hobbs Realty - “Casa Del Mar,” a cute four-bedroom home, offers beautiful views of the marsh and a private gazebo! has 4 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our vacation rental search.
  • Precise details about bedrooms and bed types is commonly accessible online. If not, email or call the property manager before reserving the vacation property. Remember that most properties list the max. guest capacity, which typically includes pull-out couches and bunk beds. You'll need to determine what bed configuration is suitable for your vacation group.
  • Are you visiting for a specific event or attraction? Use a map search to locate nearby properties.
  • Suitable accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for persons with disabilities. .
  • Are you bringing the family pet? Although a number of vacation homes allow pets or animals, guidelines and costs vary per property. Type of pet, size and breeds may be limited. Remember to ask your host before booking, and study your rental agreement! Additional pet fees or might be applied to your agreement.

More considerations:

  • Take a copy of the property manager's phone number and arrival/departure procedures for your rental property. Store the manager's information in your smartphone.
  • Record any damages to the property upon arrival, and immediately e-mail them to the property manager. We specifically recommend texts and e-mails, as they usually contain time stamps that can be valuable if a dispute is filed.
  • Property managers are there to help! Feel free to ask questions before, during, or after your stay.
  • Respect your neighbors. Often, surrounding homes are filled by local residents. Respecting quiet hours and parking rules reduces conflict and allows everyone to enjoy their day.
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local! Locals can usually help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to go for the best drinks, have a great night out, or the best spots for fishing?
  • Lock your rental while you are out and about. Keep your property safe!
  • Just before checking out, take a walk-through to confirm you didn't forget any personal items. Make sure to check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden belongings. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Inspect the property one final time and keep an eye out for damage. We suggest walking through with the property manager whenever possible. If the manager is not available, take photos and video of the property to record its condition at check-out.
  • Did your group have a wonderful stay? Many vacation rental websites make it easy for travelers to provide comments. If your property and/or property manager was terrific, they would love to hear it. If anything was defective and they failed to fix it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make a note as part of your review.

Victory Beach Vacations

Visitors who are on the hunt for the postcard-perfect vacation rental in the heart of the Carolina Beach or Kure Beach area will find an enticing selection and plenty of friendly customer service when they rent through Victory Beach Vacations. Based in Carolina Beach in the coastal Cape Fear region, Victory Beach Vacations has more than 100 vacation rentals in all shapes and sizes to ensure that every vacationing family can find their dream home away from home on the beach.   When you book your Cape Fear getaway with Victory Beach Vacations, the fun doesn’t end when you leave the beach, it continues with an array of privately-owned properties outfitted with all of the amenities needed for a fabulous beach vacation.   Jenna Lanier, General Manager, explains that her family first opened the rental and property management business in 2002. At the forefront of Victory Beach operations is Lanier’s mother, Caroline Meeks. Meeks is both the Broker in Charge and co-owner with husband, Buck Meeks, who manages the Field Services team with Lanier’s husband, Scott.   For nearly 20 years, the Victory Beach team has worked tirelessly to establish a network of top-of-the-line rental properties for Cape Fear visitors to enjoy. “As far as our properties go,” explains Lanier, “they are all updated, well-furnished and appointed. “We have always performed post-cleaning inspections and since the pandemic, have put freshly laundered duvets over all of the comforters between rentals.”   Lanier emphasizes how important the guests experience is “we strive to give our guests a relaxing, stress free, memorable vacation.” This emphasis on customer service has led to Victory Beach Vacations having a 4.8 Google rating with over 300 reviews by happy owners and guests. In addition to Victory Beach’s superior sanitation practices, the company offers properties for every type of visitor. Choose from luxury oceanfront houses and condos to more reasonbly priced 2nd row properties with oceanviews. Many properties include pools and hot tubs as well, perfect for outdoor entertaining, and many are dog friendly.   Lanier also notes that all properties are within walking or driving distance to Pleasure Island’s main attractions – Carolina Beach and Kure Beach. The former, as described by Lanier, is the more commercialized of the two destinations and features a boardwalk, outdoor dining options and a plethora of weekly activities including fireworks, live music, amusement park pop-ups, and movies under the stars. Kure Beach offers a more residential feel with its fishing pier, intimate restaurants and family favorite, North Carolina Aquarium at Fort Fisher.More water fun awaits, too. “There is a harbor and a canal that feed into the intercoastal. We have several properties on the harbor so guests can bring their boat, kayak, [or jet ski] and travel between islands,” says Lanier.   A stay with Victory Beach Vacations is an annual pilgrimage for most. “A large percentage of guests are previous guests. Some even reserve the same property for the next year as they’re checking out,” Lanier says. “It’s almost like it’s their personal vacation home.”   Even before guests arrive at their vacation destination, the Victory Beach Vacations’ website greets them with a live beach cam and exquisite aerial footage of both Carolina and Kure Beaches.
