Under House and Driveway parking for 4-6 cars, size dependent. 
2 Screened in porches:  Outdoor Dining, Casual Seating. Outdoor string lights.

Property Level: We are a one-story home on pilings.
2 Separate Entry Porches to Open Great Rooms with plenty of soft seating, TV, Ceiling Fan.
Dining Table on each side
Kitchens:  Dishwasher,  Side by Side Fridge Freezer, Electric Range, Microwave. Ceiling Fan.
2 Primary Bedroom Suites. Side B is a King, Side A is a Queen.
Each side has a kids room: Side B is two twins, Side A is a bunk plus futon.
Each side has a shared hallway bath with Bathtub for the guest rooms
Each side has a queen guest bedroom.
Each side has a washer and dryer.

Linens - Sheets and Towels will be wrapped in sealed packages and laying on the end of the beds. 

Rental Policies:
In response to the increased incidence of credit card fraud, a valid government photo ID will be required for every reservation. A signed rental agreement is required: accepting House Rules on any online travel agency requires reading and acceptance of our rental agreement.

Things to bring:
Paper towels and toilet paper, trash bags, soaps, detergents, minimal cleaning supplies, and beach towels.

Arrival/Departure:
Summer Check-ins (June-August) begin at 4 pm and are guaranteed by 6 pm
Off Season Check-ins begin at 3 pm and are guaranteed by 5 pm
Check-out is by 10 am. 
We adhere to this policy so please do not arrive early or plan to delay your departure.

No events such as weddings, bachelor/bachelorette events, sororities/fraternities 
No smoking
You must be at least 25 to rent this unit.

Pet Policy:
No family pets allowed.

While this is not a pet-friendly property, those with allergies should be aware the owner of the property has a dog in the premises from time to time.  

Cancellation Policy:
- Free cancellation within 48 hours of booking
- After 48 hours of booking and more than 60 days out from arrival, a full refund will be processed less a $300 cancellation fee
- After 48 hours of booking and within 60 days of arrival, there will be no refund processed unless the dates are re-rented. If premises are re-rented, a refund will be processed less a $300 cancellation fee.

Discover aquatic wildlife and vegetation at the North Carolina Aquarium at Fort Fisher or enjoy a calming ferry ride across the Cape Fear River to a cozy little shopping town called Southport. Take a trip back in time at the Fort Fisher State Historic Site and Museum which features live oak-covered trails and bunkers from the American Civil War. Stroll through the marsh to visit the home of the famed Ft. Fisher Hermit. Or wind down with nature at our two state parks, sure to provide a memorable experience with hiking, fishing, and water activities such as paddle boarding and kayaking, and search for a Venus Flytrap which is native to NC only. As one of North Carolina's most undeveloped beaches, the island offers a unique opportunity to see many diverse coastal wildlife, including pelicans and loggerhead sea turtles, in their natural habitat. Whether it’s exploring activities on the island, enjoying the ocean vistas, or enjoying a drink by sunset from your own private balcony, Pleasure Island offers diversion for every enthusiast!

One of the last remaining beach boardwalks on the East Coast, it includes a variety of eateries, an arcade, stores, ice cream, Famous Britts Donuts, bars, and more! During the summer months, the Boardwalk is bustling with the sound of music, carnival rides, bingo, family nights, and events like the weekly fireworks and concert series. Rent a Jeep, bicycle, or golf cart as the most convenient ways to navigate the island. Annual off-season events include the Cape Fear Kite Festival, Christmas by the Sea, and the Island of Lights Festival.

About the Area

Located in Carolina Beach, this vacation home is on a river. Carolina Beach Boardwalk is a popular attraction and the area's natural beauty can be seen at Carolina Beach and Wrightsville Beach. Odysea Surf and Kiteboard School and North Carolina Aquarium at Fort Fisher are also worth visiting. Be sure to check out the area's animals with activities such as game walks and birdwatching.

Money saving strategies:

• In the Southport area, The sooner you can book a vacation home, the easier your search will be. The most desirable vacation homes are booked early. Reserving your vacation property 6-12 months before your vacation dates is recommended. Holiday gatherings are excellent times to search for and reserve your rental.
• June, July, and August are the most expensive months in the Southport area. Reserving a rental home in Spring or Fall is our favorite way to save money on your vacation. Rates are lower, and you'll find a better selection of desirable properties.
• Some hosts and property managers offer promotional rates for veterans. Check with your host or property manager to see if discounts are available for your group before you book.
• Booking websites usually offer renters an option to purchase vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which normally will cost you between 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed days as a result of medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance might be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for additional information.

Note that most properties list maximum guest capacity, which typically includes sofa beds in living rooms. You will need to establish what configuration is suitable for your vacation.
• Some rentals allow pets, but others do not. Allowable types of dog or cat, size and breeds may be restricted, and additional costs may apply. Ask the property manager about allowable breeds and types before booking.
• Are you looking for unique amenities? Most websites include search filters for amenities. Use these to your advantage to find the perfect rental home.
• Proper accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. Confirm all necessary amenities are included before reserving a rental.

Know before you go:

• We recommend storing the host's information in your smartphone.
• Ask questions. You may need instructions for a fireplace, stereo or appliance. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief text message can prevent quite a few issues.
• Lock your rental property while you are out! Don't let thieves ruin your trip.
• Record any issues with the property during check in, and immediately send them to the owner. We especially recommend texts and e-mails, as they usually contain time stamps that are helpful if damages are assessed.
• Be respectful. Often times, adjacent homes are filled by local residents. Respecting noise limits and parking rules can make a stay significantly more pleasurable.
• Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Locals can usually help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to grab the best tacos, have a great night out, or the best spots for fine dining?
• Double-check the property to make sure that you've packed all of your belongings at departure. Check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden treasure. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
• Walk through the rental a final time and look for any damage. We recommend walking through with the property manager whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the host is not available, take pictures of the property to record its condition at check-out.
• Leave feedback! Property owners rely on good ratings to stimulate new reservations. They'll be much obliged for your feedback. Alternatively, if something went wrong, other vacationing families will be thankful you shared your experience and help them have the best future vacation. Remember to be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the manager had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded quickly to fix it.
