Tricks and tips to get the best Holden Beach vacation home experience:

Money saving strategies:

  • In the Southport area, The earlier you can book a vacation rental, the easier your search will be. The best vacation rentals are reserved early. Booking your vacation rental 6-12 months before your vacation is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to search for and book your vacation home.
  • June, July, and August are the most expensive months in coastal NC. To find the best value, consider shifting your group's vacation week to the Spring or Fall months. May, September, and October offer pleasant temperatures, , and greatly reduced traffic. Many vacationers use this strategy to reserve larger homes, or to reserve an oceanfront rental that would otherwise be unavailable during the Summer.
  • Hosts and Property managers sometimes offer rate reductions for veterans. Remember to ask your property manager if special offers are available for your family.
  • Booking websites usually offer customers an option to purchase vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which commonly will cost 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed days as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance can be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for details.
  • Many property management companies supply Southport area travel guides which include money-saving deals, either offered directly by local businesses, or through a partnership between the property management company and the business itself. You can also find Southport area magazine and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.

How to pick the best rental:

  • Begin by selecting a vacation week and a maximum budget.
  • Determine how many beds and the configuration your group requires. Hobbs Realty - “Driftwood” is a cozy five-bedroom, pet-friendly, oceanfront home with beautiful views. has 5 bedrooms and 4 bathrooms.
  • Specific details about bedrooms and bed counts & types is normally accessible online. Otherwise, call the property management company before you book your rental. Note that most properties list maximum guest capacity, which typically includes sofa beds in living rooms. You will need to determine what is right for your vacation.
  • If your family is bringing pets, you'll need to find a rental that allows animals. Request information on breed, weight, and type restrictions. Often, hosts require additional pet deposits and fees.
  • Looking for specific amenities? Most rental search websites include amenity lists and search filters.
  • Appropriate accessibility can make or break a vacation for the less-mobile. Confirm all required amenities are included before booking.

Some things to know before you go:

  • We recommend storing the manager's contact information in your smartphone.
  • Ask questions. You may need instructions for a fireplace, television set or thermostat. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief telephone call can prevent quite a few concerns.
  • Lock your rental property while you're away! Don't let burglars spoil your holiday.
  • To make certain that damages aren't linked to your visit, make a record of any problem areas when you arrive. message the rental manager immediately to record any pre-existing damages. If there is a dispute about legal responsibility later, having a record of problems and contact attempts will be very helpful.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like unpleasant vacationers bothering your peace. Practice the golden rule for best judgement. Happy residents may even recommend great local food and places you would've not otherwise known about!
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Locals can often point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to find the best seashells, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for bird watching?
  • Re-check the rental property to confirm that you've packed everything at departure. Re-check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden items. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
  • Did you have a excellent time? Many rental management companies make it easy for customers to provide feedback. If your rental property and/or host was terrific, they would love to hear about it. If anything was imperfect and they failed to correct it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make it a point as part of your feedback.
