Strategies to get the optimal Southport vacation rental experience:

Getting the best rental home value:

  • Summer time is high season in Oak Island. Booking your vacation rental in the Fall or Spring is an excellent way to save on your vacation rental. Rates are lower, and you'll find a better selection of acceptable properties. Many vacationers use this strategy to find larger homes within budget, or to book an oceanfront rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during the Summer. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Southport vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation on the coast? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with loved ones at the beach.
  • The sooner you can reserve a home, the better your selection will be. The best vacation homes are booked early. Booking your rental six to twelve months before your vacation dates is recommended. Holiday gatherings are excellent times to search for and reserve your rental home.
  • Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property manager or host whether your group qualifies for a reduced rate.
  • Property managers typically offer renters an option to buy vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which usually will cost you between 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed vacation time as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel stay or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance can be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for more information.
  • Look for your local visitors guide when you arrive at the rental property. If your rental doesn't have one, you can find them at local shops and fuel stations. In addition to great information, visitor guides contain coupons for local tours, shops, and attractions.

How to pick the best vacation rental:

  • Choose your vacation week and budget.
  • Decide how many bedrooms and the configuration your group needs. Fanta Sea: Modern Home Built in 2023 with Private Pool, Elevator has 4 bedrooms and 6 bathrooms.
  • Precise information about bedrooms and bed types is often accessible online. If not, contact the host before you reserve the home. Note that most property listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which typically includes pull-out couches and bunk beds.
  • Is your group looking for unique amenities? Most rental websites include amenity lists and search filters. Filtering by amenity will allow you to quickly find the perfect rental home.
  • Proper accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for persons with a disability. Confirm all required amenities are included before booking.
  • Remember to include your furry companions! Many vacation homes allow animals, but guidelines and restrictions apply. Type of pet, size and breeds may be limited. Remember to ask your host before booking, and study your rental agreement! Extra fees or might be applied to your invoice.

Considerations for your stay:

  • Review arrival and departure procedures before traveling. Take a printed copy, and add a note with the directions to your phone.
  • To make certain damages are not linked to your family's stay, inspect the property for any problem areas upon check in. message the property manager right away to record any pre-existing damages. If there is a dispute, having the recorded issues and contact attempts will be very helpful.
  • Property managers are there to help! Don't be shy to ask any questions during your stay.
  • Respecting quiet hours and parking regulations can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You will magnify your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors are usually a terrific source for finding the best local beaches and hangouts.
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Neighbors can typically help. Who better to ask where to find the best seashells, have a great night out, or the best spots for bird watching?
  • Lock your rental property while you're gone! Don't let crooks ruin your family vacation.
  • On check-out day, complete a final walk-through to confirm you haven't forget any personal items. Make sure to check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden belongings. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Walk through the property one final time and scan for damage. We recommend walking through with the host whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the property manager is not available, take video of the rental to record its condition.
  • Did your family have a terrific vacation? Many rental websites make it easy for guests to provide comments. If your rental property and/or property manager was great, they always love to hear your praise. If anything was wrong and they failed to correct it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make it a point as part of your comments.

Victory Beach Vacations

Visitors who are on the hunt for the postcard-perfect vacation rental in the heart of the Carolina Beach or Kure Beach area will find an enticing selection and plenty of friendly customer service when they rent through Victory Beach Vacations. Based in Carolina Beach in the coastal Cape Fear region, Victory Beach Vacations has more than 100 vacation rentals in all shapes and sizes to ensure that every vacationing family can find their dream home away from home on the beach.   When you book your Cape Fear getaway with Victory Beach Vacations, the fun doesn’t end when you leave the beach, it continues with an array of privately-owned properties outfitted with all of the amenities needed for a fabulous beach vacation.   Jenna Lanier, General Manager, explains that her family first opened the rental and property management business in 2002. At the forefront of Victory Beach operations is Lanier’s mother, Caroline Meeks. Meeks is both the Broker in Charge and co-owner with husband, Buck Meeks, who manages the Field Services team with Lanier’s husband, Scott.   For nearly 20 years, the Victory Beach team has worked tirelessly to establish a network of top-of-the-line rental properties for Cape Fear visitors to enjoy. “As far as our properties go,” explains Lanier, “they are all updated, well-furnished and appointed. “We have always performed post-cleaning inspections and since the pandemic, have put freshly laundered duvets over all of the comforters between rentals.”   Lanier emphasizes how important the guests experience is “we strive to give our guests a relaxing, stress free, memorable vacation.” This emphasis on customer service has led to Victory Beach Vacations having a 4.8 Google rating with over 300 reviews by happy owners and guests. In addition to Victory Beach’s superior sanitation practices, the company offers properties for every type of visitor. Choose from luxury oceanfront houses and condos to more reasonbly priced 2nd row properties with oceanviews. Many properties include pools and hot tubs as well, perfect for outdoor entertaining, and many are dog friendly.   Lanier also notes that all properties are within walking or driving distance to Pleasure Island’s main attractions – Carolina Beach and Kure Beach. The former, as described by Lanier, is the more commercialized of the two destinations and features a boardwalk, outdoor dining options and a plethora of weekly activities including fireworks, live music, amusement park pop-ups, and movies under the stars. Kure Beach offers a more residential feel with its fishing pier, intimate restaurants and family favorite, North Carolina Aquarium at Fort Fisher.More water fun awaits, too. “There is a harbor and a canal that feed into the intercoastal. We have several properties on the harbor so guests can bring their boat, kayak, [or jet ski] and travel between islands,” says Lanier.   A stay with Victory Beach Vacations is an annual pilgrimage for most. “A large percentage of guests are previous guests. Some even reserve the same property for the next year as they’re checking out,” Lanier says. “It’s almost like it’s their personal vacation home.”   Even before guests arrive at their vacation destination, the Victory Beach Vacations’ website greets them with a live beach cam and exquisite aerial footage of both Carolina and Kure Beaches.
