Getting the best vacation home experience:

Sticking to your rental budget:

  • In the Southport area, The earlier you can book a rental home, the easier your search will be. The most desirable rental properties are reserved early. Reserving your vacation rental six - twelve months before your vacation dates is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to plan and book your vacation rental.
  • Booking a rental in Spring or Fall is our favorite way to save money on your vacation home. Rental rates are lower, and you'll find a better selection of suitable properties.
  • Hosts sometimes offer discounts or promotional rates for veterans. Ask your property manager if rate reductions are available for your family before you book.
  • Property management companies typically offer renters an option to add vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which normally will cost you anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed time as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance might be a a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for details.
  • Look for your local visitors guide when you arrive at the rental property. If your rental property doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers. In addition to great local stories, travel guide magazines have coupons for local tours, shops, and attractions.

Planning, picking, and booking the best Southport vacation home:

  • Start by selecting your potential vacation weeks and a budget.
  • Decide how many beds and the bed configuration you need. Harbour View home on Bald Head Island! has 4 bedrooms and 5 bathrooms.
  • Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts & types is commonly accessible online. If they are not listed, email the property owner before booking your rental. Remember that most properties list the maximum guest capacity, which oftentimes includes pull-out couches.
  • Some properties allow pets, and some don't. Acceptable types of pet, weight and breeds may be restricted, and additional fees may apply. Ask the host about allowable pet guidelines before booking.
  • Are you visiting for a specific event or attraction? Try a map search to find nearby properties.
  • Suitable accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for the less-mobile. Confirm all required amenities are included before booking

Tips for a smooth stay:

  • Review check in & check out procedures before traveling. Take a printed copy, and add a note with the instructions to your smartphone.
  • Ask questions. You may need instructions for a hot tub, intercom or coffee maker. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief telephone call can prevent many issues.
  • Keep the property locked while you are gone! Don't let burglars spoil your family vacation.
  • To make certain damages are not linked to your stay, inspect the rental for any problem areas during check in. Call the rental manager immediately to relay any issues. If there is a dispute about who is responsible, having the recorded concerns and contact attempts will be very helpful.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like obnoxious vacationers disrupting your peace and quiet. Practice the golden rule for best judgement. Happy residents may even recommend great beaches and places you would have never otherwise known!
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Neighbors can frequently help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to find the fresh catch of the day, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for bird watching?
  • Don't leave anything behind! Just before you drive away, walk through the rental to make sure you've collected everything. Check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden treasure. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Record a video to document the condition of the property.
  • Did your group have a great vacation? Most rental managers make it easy for clients to provide feedback. If your rental property and/or host was great, they would love to hear it. If anything was imperfect and they failed to correct it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make a note as part of your comments.

Victory Beach Vacations

Visitors who are on the hunt for the postcard-perfect vacation rental in the heart of the Carolina Beach or Kure Beach area will find an enticing selection and plenty of friendly customer service when they rent through Victory Beach Vacations. Based in Carolina Beach in the coastal Cape Fear region, Victory Beach Vacations has more than 100 vacation rentals in all shapes and sizes to ensure that every vacationing family can find their dream home away from home on the beach.   When you book your Cape Fear getaway with Victory Beach Vacations, the fun doesn’t end when you leave the beach, it continues with an array of privately-owned properties outfitted with all of the amenities needed for a fabulous beach vacation.   Jenna Lanier, General Manager, explains that her family first opened the rental and property management business in 2002. At the forefront of Victory Beach operations is Lanier’s mother, Caroline Meeks. Meeks is both the Broker in Charge and co-owner with husband, Buck Meeks, who manages the Field Services team with Lanier’s husband, Scott.   For nearly 20 years, the Victory Beach team has worked tirelessly to establish a network of top-of-the-line rental properties for Cape Fear visitors to enjoy. “As far as our properties go,” explains Lanier, “they are all updated, well-furnished and appointed. “We have always performed post-cleaning inspections and since the pandemic, have put freshly laundered duvets over all of the comforters between rentals.”   Lanier emphasizes how important the guests experience is “we strive to give our guests a relaxing, stress free, memorable vacation.” This emphasis on customer service has led to Victory Beach Vacations having a 4.8 Google rating with over 300 reviews by happy owners and guests. In addition to Victory Beach’s superior sanitation practices, the company offers properties for every type of visitor. Choose from luxury oceanfront houses and condos to more reasonbly priced 2nd row properties with oceanviews. Many properties include pools and hot tubs as well, perfect for outdoor entertaining, and many are dog friendly.   Lanier also notes that all properties are within walking or driving distance to Pleasure Island’s main attractions – Carolina Beach and Kure Beach. The former, as described by Lanier, is the more commercialized of the two destinations and features a boardwalk, outdoor dining options and a plethora of weekly activities including fireworks, live music, amusement park pop-ups, and movies under the stars. Kure Beach offers a more residential feel with its fishing pier, intimate restaurants and family favorite, North Carolina Aquarium at Fort Fisher.More water fun awaits, too. “There is a harbor and a canal that feed into the intercoastal. We have several properties on the harbor so guests can bring their boat, kayak, [or jet ski] and travel between islands,” says Lanier.   A stay with Victory Beach Vacations is an annual pilgrimage for most. “A large percentage of guests are previous guests. Some even reserve the same property for the next year as they’re checking out,” Lanier says. “It’s almost like it’s their personal vacation home.”   Even before guests arrive at their vacation destination, the Victory Beach Vacations’ website greets them with a live beach cam and exquisite aerial footage of both Carolina and Kure Beaches.
