Lighthouse Landing, a neighborhood in Bald Head Island, is home to this vacation home. Find your perfect rental:

  • Reserving a rental home in Fall or Spring is a great way to save on your vacation rental. Rental rates are lower, and you'll find a larger selection of desirable homes. Many vacationers use this strategy to find larger homes within budget, or to reserve an oceanfront vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during the Summer months. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Southport vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation on the coast? Thanksgiving and Christmas are great times to gather with loved ones at your favorite beach.
  • Book your vacation home as soon as possible. Rental schedules usually open twelve months in advance (or in September just after the Summer season ends). Many groups reserve their Summer vacation rentals during Thanksgiving and Christmas get-togethers. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
  • Some hosts offer discounts or promotional rates for veterans and active duty military. Remember to ask your host or property manager if discounts are available for your group before you book.
  • Property managers usually offer their guests an option to add vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which will generally cost between 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed vacation time as a result of medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel or extra gasoline expenses.   • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Neighbors can usually point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to find the fresh catch of the day, have a great night out, or the best spots for crabbing?
  • Lock your rental while you're out and about. Protect your property!
  • Double-check the vacation property to make sure that you've packed everything at check-out. Make sure to check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden items. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Inspect the rental one final time and look for any damage. We suggest inspecting the property with the host whenever possible. If the host isn't available, remember to take pictures of the property to record its condition.
  • After your trip, leave feedback! Property managers rely on good feedback to compel future bookings. They'll be thankful for your review. Alternatively, if something wasn't right, other vacationing families will appreciate that you share your feedback and help them have the best future vacation. Remember to be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the property manager had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded reasonably to fix it.
