Our top Oak Island vacation rental booking tips:

Finding your perfect vacation home:

  • Book your vacation home in the Fall or Spring to get the benefit of warm weather while saving money and avoiding crowded roads, restaurants, and activities.
  • In the Southport area, The earlier your group can reserve a vacation home, the better your selection will be. The most desirable vacation rentals are booked very early. Reserving your vacation rental six - twelve months before your vacation dates is recommended. Holiday gatherings are excellent times to search for and reserve your rental home.
  • Some owners offer discounts for veterans and active duty military. Ask your host or property manager if discounts are available for your group before you book.
  • Booking websites often offer guests an option to add vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed trip time as a result of medical-related issues or weather, as well as ensuing additional evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance might be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for additional information.
  • Many property management companies supply Southport area visitor guides which will include special offers, either offered directly by local companies, or by way of a partnership between the management company and the business itself. You can also find Southport visitors guide and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.

Selecting the best vacation home in Oak Island:

  • Start by selecting potential vacation weeks and a maximum budget.
  • Note the number beds and the configuration your group needs. Seaside Escape-3 bedroom, dog friendly, walk to beach, fenced yard, screened porch. has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Southport rentals search.
  • Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed types is usually available on booking pages. Otherwise, contact the property management company before you book the rental. Remember that most properties list the max. guest capacity, which oftentimes includes pull-out couches. You will need to determine what is best for your family.
  • Are you visiting for a single event? If so, use a map search to browse nearby rentals.
  • Appropriate accessibility can make or break a vacation for the less-mobile. Confirm all necessary amenities are included before reserving a rental
  • Are you traveling with furry, four-legged family members? Many vacation homes allow animals, but guidelines and restrictions apply. Type of pet, size and breeds may be limited. Ask your host before booking, and study your agreement thoroughly! Additional fees or charges could be applied to your invoice.

Advice for your stay:

  • Take a copy of the host's contact number and check in/check out procedures for your . We recommend storing the host's contact information in your smartphone.
  • To make certain that no damages are linked to your family's visit, inspect for any problem areas during check in. message the property manager right away to report any damages. If there is a dispute, having the recorded problems and contact attempts will be valuable.
  • Hosts are there to help! Don't be shy to ask any questions during your stay.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like loud visitors bothering your peaceful home. Practice the golden rule for common sense. Happy residents may even recommend great restaurants and scenic spots you would have not otherwise known!
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local! Local residents can typically help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to get the best breakfast in town, have a great night out, or the best spots for fine dining?
  • Lock your rental home while you are out and about. Keep your property safe!
  • Double-check the property to confirm that you've packed everything on check-out day. Re-check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden treasure. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Go through the rental one final time and look for any damage. We suggest inspecting the property with the host whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the property manager is not available, remember to take photos of the rental to record its condition.
  • Did your family have a fantastic time? Most rental websites make it easy for travelers to provide comments. If your rental property and/or host was wonderful, they would love to hear about it. If anything was inoperable and they failed to address it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make a note as part of your feedback.

Victory Beach Vacations

Visitors who are on the hunt for the postcard-perfect vacation rental in the heart of the Carolina Beach or Kure Beach area will find an enticing selection and plenty of friendly customer service when they rent through Victory Beach Vacations. Based in Carolina Beach in the coastal Cape Fear region, Victory Beach Vacations has more than 100 vacation rentals in all shapes and sizes to ensure that every vacationing family can find their dream home away from home on the beach.   When you book your Cape Fear getaway with Victory Beach Vacations, the fun doesn’t end when you leave the beach, it continues with an array of privately-owned properties outfitted with all of the amenities needed for a fabulous beach vacation.   Jenna Lanier, General Manager, explains that her family first opened the rental and property management business in 2002. At the forefront of Victory Beach operations is Lanier’s mother, Caroline Meeks. Meeks is both the Broker in Charge and co-owner with husband, Buck Meeks, who manages the Field Services team with Lanier’s husband, Scott.   For nearly 20 years, the Victory Beach team has worked tirelessly to establish a network of top-of-the-line rental properties for Cape Fear visitors to enjoy. “As far as our properties go,” explains Lanier, “they are all updated, well-furnished and appointed. “We have always performed post-cleaning inspections and since the pandemic, have put freshly laundered duvets over all of the comforters between rentals.”   Lanier emphasizes how important the guests experience is “we strive to give our guests a relaxing, stress free, memorable vacation.” This emphasis on customer service has led to Victory Beach Vacations having a 4.8 Google rating with over 300 reviews by happy owners and guests. In addition to Victory Beach’s superior sanitation practices, the company offers properties for every type of visitor. Choose from luxury oceanfront houses and condos to more reasonbly priced 2nd row properties with oceanviews. Many properties include pools and hot tubs as well, perfect for outdoor entertaining, and many are dog friendly.   Lanier also notes that all properties are within walking or driving distance to Pleasure Island’s main attractions – Carolina Beach and Kure Beach. The former, as described by Lanier, is the more commercialized of the two destinations and features a boardwalk, outdoor dining options and a plethora of weekly activities including fireworks, live music, amusement park pop-ups, and movies under the stars. Kure Beach offers a more residential feel with its fishing pier, intimate restaurants and family favorite, North Carolina Aquarium at Fort Fisher.More water fun awaits, too. “There is a harbor and a canal that feed into the intercoastal. We have several properties on the harbor so guests can bring their boat, kayak, [or jet ski] and travel between islands,” says Lanier.   A stay with Victory Beach Vacations is an annual pilgrimage for most. “A large percentage of guests are previous guests. Some even reserve the same property for the next year as they’re checking out,” Lanier says. “It’s almost like it’s their personal vacation home.”   Even before guests arrive at their vacation destination, the Victory Beach Vacations’ website greets them with a live beach cam and exquisite aerial footage of both Carolina and Kure Beaches.
