Three Gulls & A Buoy is located at impressive Holden Beach between Wilmington and Myrtle Beach. National Geographic Traveler Magazine called Holden Beach one of the best family beaches in the country! Our beach is unique and special. Here, you can view both sunrises and sunsets on the Atlantic Ocean. We are also famed for shark's teeth & Sea Biscuits, a pretty shell that frequently washes up on our beach. We have even included sand sifters and buckets to use for collecting.
Our home is a 5-min. walk to the pier (beach access) and has a General Store and ice cream shop just across the street. Haley’s Ice Cream is a great place to savor a cold treat while watching the waves.
With ocean vistas and a handsome, active marsh in the backyard, this home is a great place to relax. There is a huge picnic table and plenty of other seating downstairs.
We have tons and books, games, puzzles and toys to appreciate. You can’t beat this kitchen! You won’t find one better supplied. From air-frying to cupcakes- we’ve got you covered. If you’d rather eat out, we’ve tried everything and will leave you a list with our recommendations.

Our family loves the North Carolina coastline. We are five-generation North Carolinians who have grown up exploring our beautiful beaches, each with its own style. We want to share our appreciate of all things sandy and salty with you and hope you feel at home away from home from arrival to departure.

About the Area

Located in Holden Beach, this vacation home is by the sea. Lockwood Folly Country Club and River's Edge Golf Club are worth checking out if an activity is on the agenda, while those looking for area attractions can visit Magic Mountain Fun Park and Planet Fun. Museum of Coastal Carolina and Ingram Planetarium are also worth visiting. Be sure to check out the area's animals with activities such as game walks and birdwatching.

Getting the best rental home value:

  • Book your rental as soon as possible. Rental schedules usually become available 12 months in advance (or in September just after Summer ends). Many families book their Summer vacations during Winter holiday gatherings. Book before these holidays for best selection.
  • Summer is high season in Holden Beach. To find the most suitable rental within your budget, we recommend reserving in the Spring or Fall. You'll benefit from lower rates, better selection, beautiful weather and the absence of large crowds at popular Southport attractions and restaurants. Many vacationers use this strategy to reserve larger homes, or to book an oceanfront rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during June, July, and August. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Southport vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation on the coast? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with loved ones at your favorite beach.
  • Some owners offer special rates for active duty military and veterans. It's always a good idea to check with your property manager to see if special offers are available for your group.
  • Property management companies typically offer their guests an option to purchase vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which usually costs 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any days missed as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel or extra gas expenses.   • Re-check every room of the vacation property to make sure that you've packed all belongings at departure. Re-check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden treasure. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Go through the property one final time and keep an eye out for any damage. We advise walking through with the host whenever possible. If the property manager isn't available, ensure that you take pictures of the property to record its condition.
  • Leave a review! Hosts rely on good ratings to stimulate more bookings. They'll be thankful for your feedback. Alternatively, if something went wrong, other vacationers will be thankful you shared your feedback and help them have the best future vacation.
