Tips and Tricks to get the optimal Southport vacation rental experience:

How to get the best rental home value:

  • To book the largest rental home within your budget, we strongly suggest booking in the Spring or Fall. You'll enjoy lower rental rates, greater selection, warm weather and the absence of large crowds at the beach and popular Southport attractions. Many vacationers use this method to reserve larger homes, or to reserve a beach front vacation rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during the Summer months.
  • In the Southport area, The earlier you can book, the better your selection will be. The most desirable properties are reserved very early. Booking your rental up to twelve months before your travel dates is recommended. Christmas, Thanksgiving and New Years Eve are excellent times to search for and reserve your rental.
  • Some owners offer promotional rates for veterans. Ask your property manager if special offers are available for your family.
  • Booking websites frequently offer guests an option to add vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed trip time as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance can be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for specifics.
  • Many management companies and vacation rental houses supply Southport area travel guide magazines which often include special offers, either offered independently by local businesses, or through a partnership between the rental management company and the business itself. You can also find visitors guide and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.

Planning, picking, and booking the perfect Southport vacation home:

  • Begin by choosing your trip dates and a spending budget.
  • Determine how many bedrooms and the configuration your family requires. Station One - 1H - First floor ocean front 2 bedroom condo. has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
  • Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is usually available on booking websites. If you don't see them listed, reach out to the property manager before booking the rental. Note that most listings specify the max. guest capacity, which frequently includes sofa beds and bunks.
  • Visiting for a specific attraction? Use a map search to browse nearby properties.
  • Proper accessibility can make or break a vacation for persons with a disability. Confirm all necessary amenities are available and included before reserving a rental.
  • If your group is vacationing with pets, you will need a pet-friendly property. Ask for information on breed, size, and type restrictions. Be aware that some property owners require additional pet deposits and fees.

Some things to know before you go:

  • Be sure you get the owner's contact number and check in/check out procedures for your rental.
  • To ensure that no damages are linked to your visit, inspect for any problem areas upon your arrival. Contact the rental manager immediately to relay any pre-existing damages. If there is a dispute, having a record of issues and contact attempts will be useful.
  • Ask questions. You may need instructions for a fireplace, elevator or WIFI setup. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief call can prevent lots of problems.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like disagreeable vacationers disrupting your home life. Practice the golden rule for best judgement. If they like you, locals might even recommend great local food and places you would've not otherwise known about!
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local! Neighbors can typically help. Who better to ask where to launch your kayaks, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fishing?
  • Protect the owner (and your stuff!) by locking the property when you are away, just like you would back home.
  • Just prior to departing, complete a walk-through to make sure you have not forget any personal items. Make sure to check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden treasure. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
  • Remember to leave a review! Property managers rely on excellent reviews to stimulate future bookings. They'll be much obliged for your review. Alternatively, if something went awry, other vacationing families will be thankful you shared your feedback and help them have the best future vacation. Remember to be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the property manager could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded expeditiously to solve it.
