Tricks and tips to get the perfect vacation property experience:

How to get the best rental value:

  • Reserve your vacation home as early as possible. Rental schedules generally open a year in advance (or in September just after the Summer season ends). Many families reserve their Summer rental homes during Christmas and Thanksgiving get-togethers. Book before these holidays for best selection.
  • To book the best vacation home within budget, we strongly suggest reserving in Fall or Spring months. You'll benefit from lower rates, greater selection, beautiful weather and the absence of giant crowds at popular Southport attractions and restaurants. Many vacationers use this strategy to reserve larger homes, or to book an oceanfront vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable during the Summer months.
  • Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property management company or host if your vacationing group qualifies for a discount.
  • Management companies and individual rental owners frequently offer renters an option to obtain vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which costs between 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed vacation time as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for more information.
  • Look for your local Southport area magazine upon arrival. If your rental doesn't have one, you can find them at local shops and fuel stations. In addition to great local articles, travel guides have deals for nearby tours, shops, and attractions.

Filter your rental search:

  • To start, have your family select vacation dates and a spending budget.
  • Decide how many beds and the bed configuration your family requires. Station One - 7B - Oceanfront condo with community pool, tennis, beach has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
  • Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts is usually available online. If you don't see them listed, call the property owner before reserving the vacation home. Note that most property listings specify the max. guest capacity, which usually includes pull-out couches.
  • Some properties allow pets, but some do not. Acceptable types of dog or cat, size and breeds may be restricted, and added fees may apply. Ask the property manager about pets before booking.
  • Does your group require special amenities? Most rental websites include search filters with amenity lists. Amenity filters help you quickly remove less-optimal properties.
  • Suitable accessibility can make or break a vacation for persons with a disability. .

More considerations for your visit:

  • Be sure you get the property manager's contact number and arrival/departure procedures for your . Store the manager's contact information in your smartphone.
  • Property managers are available to help! Don't be shy to ask questions before, during, or after your stay.
  • Protect the owner (and your things!) by locking and securing the home while you are gone, just like you would at home.
  • To make certain no damages are attributed to your stay, note any problem areas upon your arrival. Call the host right away to report any damages. If there is a dispute, having a record of concerns and contact attempts will be useful.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like troublesome vacationers disrupting your peace and quiet. Use the golden rule for best judgement. Happy residents may even recommend great local food and attractions you would have not otherwise known!
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Neighbors can frequently help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to find the best bike paths, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for bird watching?
  • Don't leave anything behind! Before departing, walk through the property to confirm you've collected all of your things. Check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden belongings. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Go through the property a final time and scan for damages to contents or the property itself. We advise walking through with the host whenever possible. If the manager is not available, remember to take photos of the rental to record its condition at check-out.
  • Remember to leave a review! Hosts rely on great feedback to propel future bookings. They'll be thankful for your feedback. Alternatively, if something wasn't as described, other families will will be grateful for your feedback and help them have the best future vacation. Be fair with your review. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the manager had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded reasonably to solve it.

Victory Beach Vacations

Visitors who are on the hunt for the postcard-perfect vacation rental in the heart of the Carolina Beach or Kure Beach area will find an enticing selection and plenty of friendly customer service when they rent through Victory Beach Vacations. Based in Carolina Beach in the coastal Cape Fear region, Victory Beach Vacations has more than 100 vacation rentals in all shapes and sizes to ensure that every vacationing family can find their dream home away from home on the beach.   When you book your Cape Fear getaway with Victory Beach Vacations, the fun doesn’t end when you leave the beach, it continues with an array of privately-owned properties outfitted with all of the amenities needed for a fabulous beach vacation.   Jenna Lanier, General Manager, explains that her family first opened the rental and property management business in 2002. At the forefront of Victory Beach operations is Lanier’s mother, Caroline Meeks. Meeks is both the Broker in Charge and co-owner with husband, Buck Meeks, who manages the Field Services team with Lanier’s husband, Scott.   For nearly 20 years, the Victory Beach team has worked tirelessly to establish a network of top-of-the-line rental properties for Cape Fear visitors to enjoy. “As far as our properties go,” explains Lanier, “they are all updated, well-furnished and appointed. “We have always performed post-cleaning inspections and since the pandemic, have put freshly laundered duvets over all of the comforters between rentals.”   Lanier emphasizes how important the guests experience is “we strive to give our guests a relaxing, stress free, memorable vacation.” This emphasis on customer service has led to Victory Beach Vacations having a 4.8 Google rating with over 300 reviews by happy owners and guests. In addition to Victory Beach’s superior sanitation practices, the company offers properties for every type of visitor. Choose from luxury oceanfront houses and condos to more reasonbly priced 2nd row properties with oceanviews. Many properties include pools and hot tubs as well, perfect for outdoor entertaining, and many are dog friendly.   Lanier also notes that all properties are within walking or driving distance to Pleasure Island’s main attractions – Carolina Beach and Kure Beach. The former, as described by Lanier, is the more commercialized of the two destinations and features a boardwalk, outdoor dining options and a plethora of weekly activities including fireworks, live music, amusement park pop-ups, and movies under the stars. Kure Beach offers a more residential feel with its fishing pier, intimate restaurants and family favorite, North Carolina Aquarium at Fort Fisher.More water fun awaits, too. “There is a harbor and a canal that feed into the intercoastal. We have several properties on the harbor so guests can bring their boat, kayak, [or jet ski] and travel between islands,” says Lanier.   A stay with Victory Beach Vacations is an annual pilgrimage for most. “A large percentage of guests are previous guests. Some even reserve the same property for the next year as they’re checking out,” Lanier says. “It’s almost like it’s their personal vacation home.”   Even before guests arrive at their vacation destination, the Victory Beach Vacations’ website greets them with a live beach cam and exquisite aerial footage of both Carolina and Kure Beaches.
