Strategies to get the perfect rental experience:

When to book & When to go:

  • In the Southport area, The earlier your group can book a vacation rental, the better your selection will be. The most desirable rental properties are reserved early. Reserving your rental up to twelve months before your travel dates is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to plan and book your vacation home.
  • June, July, and August are the most expensive months in Holden Beach. To find the largest rental within your budget, we suggest booking in the Fall or Spring shoulder seasons. You'll benefit from lower rates, greater selection, warm weather and the absence of large crowds at popular Southport attractions and restaurants. Many vacationers use this method to find larger homes within budget, or to reserve an oceanfront vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable during the Summer months.
  • Hosts sometimes offer discounts for veterans and active duty military. Remember to ask your host or property manager if special offers are available for your family before you book.
  • Property management companies often offer their guests an option to buy trip insurance. Trip insurance, which usually will cost between 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed time as a result of medical-related issues or weather, as well as evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel stay or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for program terms and fees.
  • Often, management companies and vacation rental houses supply Southport area travel guides that include coupons, either offered directly by local companies, or by way of a relationship with the property management company and the business itself. You can also find Southport area magazine and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.

Finding the perfect rental:

  • Select a group lead, select your vacation week, and select a budget.
  • Determine how many beds and the bed configuration you need. The Marlin House - Beautiful Canal Home! has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our rentals search.
  • Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts is normally accessible on booking pages. Otherwise, email the property management company before you reserve the property. Note that most properties list maximum guest capacity, which frequently includes sofa beds.
  • Some properties allow pets, and others do not. Allowable types of dog or cat, weight and breeds may be restricted, and additional costs may apply. Ask your host about your furry family members before booking.
  • If there's a particular Southport attraction you are enamored with, browse rentals that are either close by, or those that cater to your desires.
  • Proper accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. Remember to confirm all required amenities are included before booking

Know before you go:

  • Add the host's information to your smartphone. Understand and take a copy of arrival/departure procedures.
  • Property managers are great sources of help! Feel free to ask any questions before, during, or after your stay.
  • Keep the property locked while you are gone! Don't let thieves ruin your trip.
  • During check-in, document any issues with the property and immediately alert the host. Keep records of all coorespondence.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like disagreeable vacationers disrupting your peace. Apply the golden rule for best judgement. Happy residents may even recommend great local food and places you would have never otherwise known about!
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local! Neighbors can often point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to book the best tours, have a great night out, or the best spots for fishing?
  • Re-check every room of the property to confirm that you've packed all belongings at departure. Make sure to check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden items. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
  • After your trip, leave a review! Property owners rely on excellent reviews to drive more bookings. They'll be much obliged for your review. Alternatively, if something went wrong, other vacationers will will be grateful for your review and help them have the best future vacation. Please be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the owner could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded expeditiously to solve it.

Victory Beach Vacations

Visitors who are on the hunt for the postcard-perfect vacation rental in the heart of the Carolina Beach or Kure Beach area will find an enticing selection and plenty of friendly customer service when they rent through Victory Beach Vacations. Based in Carolina Beach in the coastal Cape Fear region, Victory Beach Vacations has more than 100 vacation rentals in all shapes and sizes to ensure that every vacationing family can find their dream home away from home on the beach.   When you book your Cape Fear getaway with Victory Beach Vacations, the fun doesn’t end when you leave the beach, it continues with an array of privately-owned properties outfitted with all of the amenities needed for a fabulous beach vacation.   Jenna Lanier, General Manager, explains that her family first opened the rental and property management business in 2002. At the forefront of Victory Beach operations is Lanier’s mother, Caroline Meeks. Meeks is both the Broker in Charge and co-owner with husband, Buck Meeks, who manages the Field Services team with Lanier’s husband, Scott.   For nearly 20 years, the Victory Beach team has worked tirelessly to establish a network of top-of-the-line rental properties for Cape Fear visitors to enjoy. “As far as our properties go,” explains Lanier, “they are all updated, well-furnished and appointed. “We have always performed post-cleaning inspections and since the pandemic, have put freshly laundered duvets over all of the comforters between rentals.”   Lanier emphasizes how important the guests experience is “we strive to give our guests a relaxing, stress free, memorable vacation.” This emphasis on customer service has led to Victory Beach Vacations having a 4.8 Google rating with over 300 reviews by happy owners and guests. In addition to Victory Beach’s superior sanitation practices, the company offers properties for every type of visitor. Choose from luxury oceanfront houses and condos to more reasonbly priced 2nd row properties with oceanviews. Many properties include pools and hot tubs as well, perfect for outdoor entertaining, and many are dog friendly.   Lanier also notes that all properties are within walking or driving distance to Pleasure Island’s main attractions – Carolina Beach and Kure Beach. The former, as described by Lanier, is the more commercialized of the two destinations and features a boardwalk, outdoor dining options and a plethora of weekly activities including fireworks, live music, amusement park pop-ups, and movies under the stars. Kure Beach offers a more residential feel with its fishing pier, intimate restaurants and family favorite, North Carolina Aquarium at Fort Fisher.More water fun awaits, too. “There is a harbor and a canal that feed into the intercoastal. We have several properties on the harbor so guests can bring their boat, kayak, [or jet ski] and travel between islands,” says Lanier.   A stay with Victory Beach Vacations is an annual pilgrimage for most. “A large percentage of guests are previous guests. Some even reserve the same property for the next year as they’re checking out,” Lanier says. “It’s almost like it’s their personal vacation home.”   Even before guests arrive at their vacation destination, the Victory Beach Vacations’ website greets them with a live beach cam and exquisite aerial footage of both Carolina and Kure Beaches.
