Booking the best vacation property experience:

Cost saving strategies:

  • Booking a rental in the Fall or Spring shoulder seasons is our best tip for saving money on your rental home. Rates are lower, and you'll find a larger selection of acceptable homes. Many vacationers use this method to reserve larger homes, or to reserve a beach front vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable during June, July, and August. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Southport vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday on the coast? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with friends and family at the beach.
  • Reserve your vacation home as early as possible. Rental schedules generally open 12 months in advance (or in September just after the Summer season ends). Many groups reserve their Summer vacations during Christmas and Thanksgiving gatherings. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
  • Veterans and Active Duty Military members may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property manager whether your vacationing group qualifies for a price reduction.
  • Property managers frequently offer guests an option to add trip insurance. Trip insurance, which generally will cost 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed days as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance might be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for details.
  • Find a copy of your local visitors guide upon checking in. If your rental property doesn't have one, you can find them at local shops and fuel stations. In addition to great articles, travel guide magazines have offers and deals for local tours and attractions.

Choosing and booking yourrental home:

  • Select a group leader, select your vacation week, and choose a maximum budget.
  • Decide how many bedrooms and the bed configuration your family requires. Third row 4 bedroom and 3 bath home has 4 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms.
  • Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed types is almost always available on booking pages. If you don't see them listed, email or call the property management company before you reserve the vacation home. Remember that most property listings specify the max. guest capacity, which typically includes pull out couches in living rooms.
  • If there's a specific Southport destination you are crazy about, browse rentals that are either near by, or those that cater especially to your needs.
  • Proper accessibility can make or break a vacation for persons with disabilities. Confirm all required amenities are included before booking
  • If your group is bringing pets, you'll need to find a pet-friendly vacation rental. Ask for specifics on breed, size, and type requirements. Usually, property managers require additional pet deposits and fees.

More considerations:

  • Add the owner's information to your phone. Print and take a copy of arrival/departure procedures.
  • To make certain damages aren't linked to your visit, inspect for any problem areas during arrival. message the rental manager immediately to report your findings. If there is a dispute about legal responsibility later, having a record of problems and contact attempts will be helpful.
  • Ask questions. You may want instructions for a fireplace, stereo or appliance. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief call prevents quite a few issues.
  • Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking rules can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You'll enhance your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors are often a terrific source for finding the best local beaches and restaurants.
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local! Locals can typically help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to spend a rainy day, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for bird watching?
  • Protect the property owner (and your stuff!) by locking and securing the home while you are gone, just like you would at home.
  • Don't leave anything behind! Just before you drive away, walk through the rental property to confirm you've collected all personal items. Make sure to check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden belongings. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Please make sure to walk through the rental one final time and scan for any damage. We recommend inspecting the property with the property manager whenever you can. If the host isn't available, ensure that you take video and pictures of the rental to record its condition at check-out.
  • Leave feedback! Property managers rely on good reviews to compel future reservations. They'll be much obliged for your feedback. Alternatively, if something wasn't right, other vacationing families will be thankful you shared your review and help them have the best future vacation. Please be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the manager could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded reasonably to fix it.

Victory Beach Vacations

Visitors who are on the hunt for the postcard-perfect vacation rental in the heart of the Carolina Beach or Kure Beach area will find an enticing selection and plenty of friendly customer service when they rent through Victory Beach Vacations. Based in Carolina Beach in the coastal Cape Fear region, Victory Beach Vacations has more than 100 vacation rentals in all shapes and sizes to ensure that every vacationing family can find their dream home away from home on the beach.   When you book your Cape Fear getaway with Victory Beach Vacations, the fun doesn’t end when you leave the beach, it continues with an array of privately-owned properties outfitted with all of the amenities needed for a fabulous beach vacation.   Jenna Lanier, General Manager, explains that her family first opened the rental and property management business in 2002. At the forefront of Victory Beach operations is Lanier’s mother, Caroline Meeks. Meeks is both the Broker in Charge and co-owner with husband, Buck Meeks, who manages the Field Services team with Lanier’s husband, Scott.   For nearly 20 years, the Victory Beach team has worked tirelessly to establish a network of top-of-the-line rental properties for Cape Fear visitors to enjoy. “As far as our properties go,” explains Lanier, “they are all updated, well-furnished and appointed. “We have always performed post-cleaning inspections and since the pandemic, have put freshly laundered duvets over all of the comforters between rentals.”   Lanier emphasizes how important the guests experience is “we strive to give our guests a relaxing, stress free, memorable vacation.” This emphasis on customer service has led to Victory Beach Vacations having a 4.8 Google rating with over 300 reviews by happy owners and guests. In addition to Victory Beach’s superior sanitation practices, the company offers properties for every type of visitor. Choose from luxury oceanfront houses and condos to more reasonbly priced 2nd row properties with oceanviews. Many properties include pools and hot tubs as well, perfect for outdoor entertaining, and many are dog friendly.   Lanier also notes that all properties are within walking or driving distance to Pleasure Island’s main attractions – Carolina Beach and Kure Beach. The former, as described by Lanier, is the more commercialized of the two destinations and features a boardwalk, outdoor dining options and a plethora of weekly activities including fireworks, live music, amusement park pop-ups, and movies under the stars. Kure Beach offers a more residential feel with its fishing pier, intimate restaurants and family favorite, North Carolina Aquarium at Fort Fisher.More water fun awaits, too. “There is a harbor and a canal that feed into the intercoastal. We have several properties on the harbor so guests can bring their boat, kayak, [or jet ski] and travel between islands,” says Lanier.   A stay with Victory Beach Vacations is an annual pilgrimage for most. “A large percentage of guests are previous guests. Some even reserve the same property for the next year as they’re checking out,” Lanier says. “It’s almost like it’s their personal vacation home.”   Even before guests arrive at their vacation destination, the Victory Beach Vacations’ website greets them with a live beach cam and exquisite aerial footage of both Carolina and Kure Beaches.
