Located near the beach, this cottage is in Long Beach, a neighborhood in Oak Island. Oak Island Golf Club and Founders Club at St. James Plantation are worth checking out if an activity is on the agenda, while those looking for area attractions can visit Bald Head Island Information Center and North Carolina Maritime Museum at Southport. North Carolina Aquarium at Fort Fisher and Magic Mountain Fun Park are also worth visiting. With jet skiing, parasailing, and fishing nearby, you'll find plenty of adventures in the water.

• Re-check every room of the vacation property to make sure that you've packed everything at check-out. Make sure to check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden treasure. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
• Go through the rental a final time and keep an eye out for any damage. We recommend inspecting the property with the host whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the manager is not available, remember to take photos and video of the rental to record its condition.
