Tricks and tips to get the very best rental experience:

Find your perfect vacation home:

  • Book your rental property in Fall or Spring months to get the benefit of beautiful weather while saving money and avoiding crowded roads, restaurants, and activities. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Southport vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday near the ocean? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with loved ones at the beach.
  • In the Southport area, The sooner you can book a vacation rental, the easier your search will be. The best properties are booked early. Reserving your vacation home six - twelve months before your travel dates is recommended. Holidays such as Christmas and Thanksgiving are excellent times to search for and book your rental home.
  • Some hosts offer discounts or promotional rates for veterans. Ask your property manager if special offers are available for your family before you book.
  • Property management companies often offer their guests an option to add vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which costs between 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed trip time as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance might be a a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for program terms and fees.
  • Often, management companies supply Southport area travel guide magazines that include coupons, either offered independently by local companies, or through a relationship with the management company and the business itself. You can also find Southport visitors guide magazine and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.

How to choose and book your Southport vacation home:

  • First and foremost, have your group choose the best dates and a max budget.
  • Decide how many beds and the configuration your family requires. Beach Bliss (1-Bedroom Villa) by RedAwning has 1 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms.
  • Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts is regularly accessible online. If you don't see them listed, email or call the host before booking the property. Remember that most listings specify the max. guest capacity, which usually includes sofa beds and bunks. You'll need to determine which bed configuration is suitable for your family.
  • Are you visiting for a specific attraction? Try a map search to find nearby properties.
  • Proper accessibility can make or break a vacation for guests with disabilities. Confirm all necessary amenities are available and included before reserving a rental.
  • Are you bringing the family pet? Many vacation homes allow animals, but guidelines and restrictions apply. Allowable pet type, breed, and size are often limited. Ask your host before booking, and study your agreement thoroughly! Extra fees or applied to your contract.

Know before you go:

  • Put the manager's information in your smartphone and wallet.
  • To ensure that damages aren't linked to your visit, make note of any problem areas during arrival. Contact the rental manager right away to relay your findings. If there is a dispute about who is responsible, having a record of concerns and contact attempts will be very helpful.
  • Hosts are there to help! Don't be shy to ask any questions before, during, or after your stay.
  • Respect the neighborhood. Often, adjacent homes are occupied by permanent residents. Respecting noise limits and parking policies is the right thing to do.
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Residents can typically help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to find the best seashells, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for bird watching?
  • Keep your rental home locked while you are gone! Don't let crooks spoil your holiday.
  • Re-check the rental property to make sure that you've packed all of your belongings at departure. Remember to check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden items. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Walk through the rental one final time and scan for damage. We recommend inspecting the property with the host whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the property manager isn't available, take photos and video of the rental to record its condition at check-out.
  • Remember to leave a review! Property owners rely on great reviews to inspire future reservations. They'll be much obliged for your feedback. Alternatively, if something wasn't as described, other vacationing families will appreciate that you share your review and help them have the best future vacation. Please be fair with your feedback If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the owner had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded expeditiously to remedy it.
