Tips and Tricks to get the perfect Southport vacation home experience:

Sticking to your spending plan:

  • In the Southport area, The sooner your group can book a vacation rental, the easier your search will be. The most desirable rental properties are reserved very early. Booking your rental home up to 12 months before your vacation is recommended. Christmas, Thanksgiving and New Years Eve are excellent times to search for and reserve your vacation home.
  • Summertime is high season in the Southport area. Booking your vacation home in the Fall or Spring shoulder seasons is our best tip for saving money on your vacation home. Rates are lower, and you'll find a larger selection of suitable homes.
  • Some hosts offer discounts for veterans. Remember to ask your property manager if special offers are available for your family before you book.
  • Management companies and individual rental owners frequently offer customers an option to add trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which normally will cost between 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed vacation time as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance might be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for details.
  • Many management companies supply Southport area visitor guides which often include money-saving offers, either offered independently by local businesses, or through a relationship between the rental management company and the business itself. You can also find Southport area magazine and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.

Finding the best rental in Holden Beach:

  • Begin by selecting your vacation dates and a spending budget.
  • Decide how many bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration your family needs. New luxury beach front house steps from the ocean has 8 bedrooms and 8 bathrooms.
  • Specific information about bedrooms and bed types is usually available online. If they are not listed, contact the host before reserving your home. Note that most property listings specify maximum guest capacity, which typically includes sofa beds in living rooms. You will need to determine what is optimal for your group.
  • Do your family pets travel with you? Although a number of vacation homes allow pets or animals, guidelines and costs vary per property. Type of pet, size and breeds may be limited. Ask your host before booking, and study your agreement! Additional pet fees or costs could be applied to your contract.
  • Does your group require specific amenities? Most rental websites include amenity lists and search filters. Amenity filters help you quickly remove less-optimal properties.
  • Suitable accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for those with limited mobility. .

During your stay:

  • Take a copy of the property manager's contact number and entry/exit procedures for your rental home. Store the manager's contact information in your smartphone and wallet.
  • Ask questions. You may want instructions for a hot tub, elevator or washer/dryer. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief telephone call prevents many concerns.
  • Protect the owner (and your things!) by locking and securing the home when you are away, just like you would back home.
  • Document any damages to the property during check in, and immediately send them to the owner. We specifically recommend e-mails and text messages, as they usually contain time stamps that are beneficial if damages are attributed to your stay.
  • Be respectful of your neighbors. Often times, nearby homes are occupied by permanent residents. Respecting noise limits and parking regulations can make a stay significantly more pleasurable.
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local! Local residents can often point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to order delicious takeout, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for shopping?
  • Don't leave anything behind! Before you drive away, take a walk through the rental to confirm you've collected everything. Check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden treasure. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Walk through the rental a final time and keep an eye out for damages to contents or the property itself. We suggest walking through with the host whenever you can. If the manager isn't available, ensure that you take photos of the rental to record its condition.
  • Did you have a great vacation? Many vacation rental websites make it easy for guests to provide reviews. If your rental and/or host was wonderful, they always love to hear your praise. If anything was wrong and they failed to correct it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make it a point as part of your review.

Victory Beach Vacations

Visitors who are on the hunt for the postcard-perfect vacation rental in the heart of the Carolina Beach or Kure Beach area will find an enticing selection and plenty of friendly customer service when they rent through Victory Beach Vacations. Based in Carolina Beach in the coastal Cape Fear region, Victory Beach Vacations has more than 100 vacation rentals in all shapes and sizes to ensure that every vacationing family can find their dream home away from home on the beach.   When you book your Cape Fear getaway with Victory Beach Vacations, the fun doesn’t end when you leave the beach, it continues with an array of privately-owned properties outfitted with all of the amenities needed for a fabulous beach vacation.   Jenna Lanier, General Manager, explains that her family first opened the rental and property management business in 2002. At the forefront of Victory Beach operations is Lanier’s mother, Caroline Meeks. Meeks is both the Broker in Charge and co-owner with husband, Buck Meeks, who manages the Field Services team with Lanier’s husband, Scott.   For nearly 20 years, the Victory Beach team has worked tirelessly to establish a network of top-of-the-line rental properties for Cape Fear visitors to enjoy. “As far as our properties go,” explains Lanier, “they are all updated, well-furnished and appointed. “We have always performed post-cleaning inspections and since the pandemic, have put freshly laundered duvets over all of the comforters between rentals.”   Lanier emphasizes how important the guests experience is “we strive to give our guests a relaxing, stress free, memorable vacation.” This emphasis on customer service has led to Victory Beach Vacations having a 4.8 Google rating with over 300 reviews by happy owners and guests. In addition to Victory Beach’s superior sanitation practices, the company offers properties for every type of visitor. Choose from luxury oceanfront houses and condos to more reasonbly priced 2nd row properties with oceanviews. Many properties include pools and hot tubs as well, perfect for outdoor entertaining, and many are dog friendly.   Lanier also notes that all properties are within walking or driving distance to Pleasure Island’s main attractions – Carolina Beach and Kure Beach. The former, as described by Lanier, is the more commercialized of the two destinations and features a boardwalk, outdoor dining options and a plethora of weekly activities including fireworks, live music, amusement park pop-ups, and movies under the stars. Kure Beach offers a more residential feel with its fishing pier, intimate restaurants and family favorite, North Carolina Aquarium at Fort Fisher.More water fun awaits, too. “There is a harbor and a canal that feed into the intercoastal. We have several properties on the harbor so guests can bring their boat, kayak, [or jet ski] and travel between islands,” says Lanier.   A stay with Victory Beach Vacations is an annual pilgrimage for most. “A large percentage of guests are previous guests. Some even reserve the same property for the next year as they’re checking out,” Lanier says. “It’s almost like it’s their personal vacation home.”   Even before guests arrive at their vacation destination, the Victory Beach Vacations’ website greets them with a live beach cam and exquisite aerial footage of both Carolina and Kure Beaches.
