How to get the best Bald Head Island rental experience:

Finding your perfect rental:

  • Reserve your vacation rental as soon as possible. Rental schedules usually open 12 months in advance (or in September just after the Summer season ends). Many groups book their Summer vacations during Winter holiday get-togethers. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
  • Booking a rental in the Spring or Fall is our best tip for saving money on your vacation rental. Rates are lower, and you'll find a better selection of suitable homes.
  • Some property management companies offer discounts for veterans and active duty military. Make sure to check with your property manager to see if special discounts are available for your group.
  • Booking websites often offer guests an option to add trip insurance. Trip insurance, which normally costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for days missed as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance can be a a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for specifics.
  • Find a copy of your local Southport visitors guide when you check-in. If your rental doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local grocery stores and visitor centers. In addition to great local stories, visitor guide magazines have coupons for nearby accommodations, tours and attractions.

Planning, selecting, and booking the perfect Southport vacation home:

  • Select a group lead, choose your vacation dates, and choose a maximum budget.
  • Decide how many bedrooms and the configuration you need. Welcome to Life of Riley on BHI! has 4 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Southport vacation rental search.
  • Precise information regarding bedrooms and bed counts & types is almost always accessible online. Otherwise, call the property manager before reserving the vacation property. Note that most properties list maximum guest capacity, which often includes pull-out couches. You will need to work out what is best for your group.
  • Some properties allow pets, and some do not. Allowable types of pet, weight and breeds may be restricted, and added fees may apply. Ask the owner about your furry family members before booking.
  • Are you looking for special amenities? Most websites include search filters with amenity lists. Amenity filters help you quickly remove less-optimal properties.
  • Suitable accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for persons with a disability. .

Advice for your stay:

  • Review check in & check out procedures before traveling. Add a note with the instructions to your smartphone, and take a printed copy.
  • Ask questions. You may want instructions for a fireplace, A/V setup or appliance. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief phone call can prevent lots of problems.
  • Lock your rental while you are out. Protect your property!
  • To ensure that damages are not attributed to your family's visit, record any problem areas during arrival. text the property manager immediately to relay any pre-existing damages. If there is a dispute, having a record of issues and contact attempts will be valuable.
  • Be respectful. Frequently, nearby homes are occupied by local residents. Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking policies reduces conflict and allows everyone to enjoy their day.
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local! Local residents can frequently help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to grab the best tacos, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for crabbing?
  • Don't leave anything behind! Just before you drive away, take a walk through the rental to confirm you've collected all belongings. Remember to check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden items. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Walk through the rental one final time and look for damage. We recommend inspecting the property with the property manager whenever you can. If the property manager is not available, ensure that you take pictures of the property to record its condition.
  • Did you have a excellent time? Many vacation rental websites make it easy for travelers to provide reviews. If your rental property and/or property manager was wonderful, they would love to hear it. If anything was wrong and they failed to address it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make it a point as part of your feedback.
