The open floor plan flows into the family room complete with a sizable flat-screen intelligent TV and crystal-clear sound bar for you to savor your favorite music or show as you prepare up your latest catch of the day. New Horizons has two King master suites- one on the second floor with striking marsh vistas and the other on the first floor facing the ocean. Downstairs you will find two more huge bedrooms connected to a Jack and Jill bathroom.

We know you want to relax without any stops at the store when you get to the island. To get you started we provide a welcome kit that includes trash bags, paper towels, toilet paper, dishwasher pod, washing machine pod, soaps, and shampoo/conditioner.

As you will find when selecting dates on the calendar, there are minimum stay requirements based on the season. There is a 7 nighttime minimum with a mandatory Saturday to Saturday rental pattern in the peak summer months, and there is more flexibility in the slower seasons. Getting the most from your rental home budget:

• Reserve your vacation rental as early as possible. Rental schedules generally become available twelve months in advance (or in September just after Summer ends). Many groups reserve their Summer vacations during Thanksgiving and Christmas gatherings. Book before these holidays for best selection.
• June, July, and August are the most expensive months in coastal NC. To find the most suitable rental within your budget, we recommend reserving in Fall or Spring months. You'll benefit from lower rates, better selection, beautiful weather and the absence of giant crowds at your favorite restaurants and activities.
• Hosts and Property managers sometimes offer rate reductions for veterans. Ask your host or property manager if discounts are available for your group before you book.
• Property management companies frequently offer guests an option to purchase trip insurance. Trip insurance, which costs between 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed trip time as a result of medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance can be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for details.
• Look for your local Southport visitors guide when you arrive at the rental property. Note that most property listings specify maximum guest capacity, which usually includes pull-out couches and bunk beds. You will need to work out what configuration is best for your group.

• Just before checking out, take a final walk-through to confirm you have not forget any personal items. Re-check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden treasure. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
• Go through the rental one final time and keep an eye out for any damage. We advise walking through with the property manager whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the manager isn't available, take video and pictures of the property to record its condition at check-out.
• Did your group have a terrific vacation? Most rental websites make it easy for clients to provide reviews. If your rental and/or property manager was terrific, they will likely appreciate your kind words. If anything was wrong and they failed to fix it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make a note as part of your review.
