Strategies to get the very best vacation home experience:

When to visit Holden Beach & When to reserve a Holden Beach rental home:

  • Book your rental as soon as possible. Rental schedules often become available a year in advance (or in September just after the Summer season ends). Many families book their Summer vacation rentals during Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years Eve get-togethers. Book before these holidays for best selection.
  • To get the best value, consider changing your group's vacation to the Spring or Fall seasons. May, September, and October offer great temperatures, less crowded beaches, and greatly reduced traffic. Many vacationers use this method to find larger homes within budget, or to reserve a beach front rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during June, July, and August.
  • Property managers sometimes offer discounts or promotional rates for veterans and active duty military. It's always a good idea to check with your property manager to see if discounts are available for your family before you book.
  • Management companies and individual rental owners frequently offer guests an option to add trip insurance. Trip insurance, which generally will cost anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any days missed as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather, as well as evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance can be a a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for specifics.
  • Look for your local visitors guide when you check-in. If your rental doesn't have one, you can find them at local shops and fuel stations. In addition to great local information, visitors guides contain deals for nearby accommodations, restaurants and tours.

How to pick the perfect vacation rental in the Southport area:

  • Select a group lead, choose your vacation week, and choose a max budget.
  • Decide how many beds and what type of bedroom configuration you need. Victoria - Private Cul-de-sac Home in Gated Community with Spectacular Views! has 4 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms.
  • Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed types is usually available on booking websites. If they are not listed, call the property manager before reserving the home. Remember that most listings specify the max. guest capacity, which frequently includes sofa beds in living rooms. You'll need to work out what configuration is right for your trip.
  • If your group is traveling with pets, you must book a pet-friendly rental. Request specifics on breed, weight, and type restrictions. Note that some property managers require additional pet deposits and fees.
  • Looking for unique amenities? Most websites include amenity lists and search filters. Filtering by amenity will allow you to quickly find the perfect rental.
  • Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for the less-mobile. .

Have a wonderful stay:

  • Be sure you get the host's contact number and arrival/departure procedures for your . Put the host's information in your smartphone and wallet.
  • Ask questions. You may want instructions for a hot tub, A/V setup or thermostat. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief call can prevent quite a few concerns.
  • Keep your rental home locked while you are away! Don't let crooks spoil your trip.
  • Document any damages to the property upon arrival, and immediately send them to the property manager. We specifically recommend e-mails and text messages, as they usually contain built-in time stamps that are useful if there is a dispute.
  • Be respectful. Often, adjacent homes are filled by permanent residents. Respecting late-night noise limits and parking regulations reduces conflict and allows everyone to enjoy their day.
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Locals can frequently point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to rent beach equipment, have a great night out, or the best spots for shopping?
  • Don't leave anything behind! Just before you drive away, walk through the property to confirm you've collected all personal belongings. Make sure to check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden items. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Go through the rental a final time and scan for any damage. We recommend inspecting the property with the property manager whenever possible. If the manager isn't available, take video and pictures of the property to record its condition.
  • Did your family have a fantastic stay? Many vacation rental websites make it easy for vacationers to provide feedback. If your rental and/or property management company was fantastic, they will likely appreciate your kind words. If anything was wrong and they failed to address it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make it a point as part of your review.
